The Sage of Confucianism and Taoism

Chapter 2239 The Purple-Cloaked Man Arrives

Chapter 2239 Three Knowledges and Three Practices

If he were in the Holy Yuan Continent, Fang Yun would not hide it, but this was the Holy Burial Valley, full of dangers. If he revealed that he was focusing on "The Analects of Confucius", those demons and barbarians would definitely be extra vigilant when using the magic of the Holy Word.

Be careful when sailing the ship that lasts ten thousand years.

However, Yi Zhishi smiled and said: "Fang Zhenguo's aura is looming, sometimes condensed and sometimes dispersed. Standing on the emperor's spiritual body, it feels like he is at the top. This should be the way of a saint, and he has succeeded in treating the Analects of Confucius."

"Oh?" All the great scholars were even more surprised.

Hidden to form benevolence, ready-made righteousness, looming and looming means the meaning of the mean; condensation is to cultivate oneself, and dispersion is to calm others. When condensation and dispersion are to cultivate oneself and calm others, these are the ultimate that the great Confucianists can achieve at present.

"The Analects of Confucius" is a book that records the remarks of Confucius and his disciples. Even though the "Book of Changes" is said to be the first of all the classics, in the eyes of many people, the "The Analects of Confucius" is the first of the Confucian classics because it contains real It records how to achieve the holy path, which is far more precious than other scriptures.

But what surprised everyone was that Fang Yun actually directly curated "The Analects of Confucius", which was very rare in the human race.

Generally speaking, we first focus on a semi-sacred classic, then focus on a sub-biblical book, and finally go back to the scriptures related to Confucius. Because it takes a long time, basically only senior Confucian scholars will focus on the "Analects of Confucius".

The Analects of Confucius originated from Confucius, and the authentic copy of this book has so much power that it is very dangerous for young scholars to focus directly on it.

Even Yi Zhishi, who is known as a master of classics, studies the classics in the order of works by semi-sages, works by sub-sages, and finally works by Confucius.

Now, Fang Yun not only managed "The Analects of Confucius", but also obviously achieved great results, and was recognized by Yi Zhishi, which surprised all the great scholars.

Zong Wenxiong looked at Fang Yun, carefully sensing Fang Yun's breath and power, and felt more and more uncomfortable in his heart. Fang Yun's poems were good, and he also showed strong fighting strength. Now it's better, even the level of Confucian classics is so high, almost Can't find a weakness.

Xi Luan was overjoyed and said: "Fang Xusheng hid it so deeply! Before, Fang Xusheng's literary talent and martial arts were obvious to all. His only shortcoming was his study of Confucian classics. Everyone thought that it took twenty or thirty years for Fang Xusheng to succeed in his rule of Confucian classics. It’s all about the future, I didn’t expect to achieve something now, it’s really gratifying!”

Li Zhenggang on the side smiled and said: "Actually, when I found out that Fang Xusheng entered the three realms, I was worried. Now that Fang Xusheng has succeeded in treating "The Analects of Confucius", he is naturally not afraid of unstable realms. Even if there are flaws, he can still suppress them by reciting the "Analects of Confucius" orally. ”

Yi Zhishi took a deep look at Fang Yun and said slowly: "Not only is he successful in treating classics, Fang Xusheng may have started to write annotations for his family, and may even directly annotate the Analects of Confucius, and he is quite famous. Achievement."

"What?"

Everyone was horrified, even the star demon barbarian showed an expression of disbelief.

Interpretation of the original scriptures of the saints, as notes.

For example, Zuo Qiuming wrote annotations for "Chun Qiu" and the book was "Zuo Shi Zhuan of Spring and Autumn Period", or "Zuo Zhuan" for short.

The book that explains the family's annotations is Shu.

For example, books that explain "Zuo Zhuan" are called Shu, such as "Chun Qiu Zuo Zhuan Zhengyi" and so on.

Everyone thought that Fang Yun was only successful in studying "The Analects of Confucius" and its related commentaries. They never thought that Fang Yun had already started writing. Even if he started writing, they felt that Fang Yun was at most just writing. But according to what Yi Zhishi meant, Fang Yun might be. Directly annotate the Analects of Confucius.

The essence of annotating the Analects of Confucius is to explain the words and deeds of Confucius, which is a style of its own! It is practicing the holy way of Confucianism!

Not to mention those ordinary Confucian scholars, even the great masters of Confucian classics and the saints of all ages would not dare to do this in their early twenties!

It's not a problem of ability or talent, but a lack of accumulation.

Whether it is the accumulation of knowledge, life experience, or the accumulation of vision, it takes time to do it step by step. Even King Wen of Zhou or Confucius could not become a blockbuster and be canonized until they had accumulated enough in their later years.

Why is Fang Yun so lucky?

Zong Wenxiong looked stiff and said slowly: "In "The Doctrine of the Mean", Zisizi has a theory of three kinds of knowledge and three practices. The first knowledge is 'knowing it when you are born', the second knowledge is 'knowing it after learning', and the last knowledge is 'knowing it when you are trapped' '.Three lines are' "Do it with ease" and "do it with reluctance". Confucius himself said that he could not reach the state of knowing it by birth, and it seemed that Fang Xusheng was afraid. Born to know it.”

All the great scholars didn't know how to refute.

The three knowledges and three conducts are one of the Confucian systems for evaluating people.

Being born knowing is an ideal state, it is an innate saint, and one is born knowing everything. However, such people have never appeared. The reason why Confucius said this is the highest level is to motivate students and prevent students from being complacent.

Learning to know is what Confucius said about himself. Through active and unremitting efforts, one can learn something and achieve wisdom. Taking initiative is the core of learning and knowing.

The last thing is to "know it when you are stuck". When you encounter immediate difficulties or find that you are inadequate, you have to study. Only in the end do you realize that this is poor.

Among the three practices, doing it with peace of mind means doing it for the sake of peace of mind. The extended meaning is to obey one's own heart, not to rely on external things, to take the initiative to do it and practice it.

Doing something for profit means doing it because of external temptations such as fame and fortune. It is slightly worse than doing something for safety, but it still has active intentions.

Doing it reluctantly means doing it only when you have to do it. It is almost forced and there is very little active will.

However, "The Doctrine of the Mean" concludes that whether one knows something from birth, learns it or learns it from difficulties, as long as it reaches the state of "knowledge", it is essentially the same.

Whether it is done peacefully, for profit or reluctantly, as long as it is done, it is essentially the same.

In "The Doctrine of the Mean", the three knowledges and three actions originally only refer to learning, gaining and practicing the "five ways" such as the way of monarch and minister, the way of father and son, the way of husband and wife, the way of brothers, and the way of friends, and the "three virtues" such as wisdom, benevolence and courage, but it can be extended to learn everything, practice everything, understand everything and complete everything.

The three knowledges originated from Confucius. Confucius originally said that one knows by nature, learns by learning and "learns by difficulties". Learning by difficulties means learning after encountering difficulties. In Confucius' view, even if one cannot learn, as long as one learns, it is acceptable, just slightly worse than him.

Zisi ended after mentioning the three knowledges and three actions, and Confucius said after "learning by difficulties" that if one "does not learn by difficulties", then he is the lowest person, which is a rare derogatory remark by Confucius.

Confucius distinguished between gentlemen and villains, adults and villains, scholars and civilians, etc. He made the distinction strictly based on "ritual" and did not mean to discriminate. However, when he talked about people who were in trouble but did not learn, his tone was obviously full of personal feelings, criticizing such behavior.

The reason why the great scholars were silent was that after Zong Wenxiong said that Fang Yun was born with knowledge, they all felt like people who were in trouble but did not learn. The gap was too big.

After a while, Zong Wenxiong could not help asking: "Fang Xusheng, what is the level of your annotations? When will it be completed?"

The other great scholars did not want Fang Yun to reveal his strength, but they all expected Fang Yun to speak out.

"One step away from the mountains and seas bestowed by God." Fang Yun smiled and changed the subject.
