The Sage of Confucianism and Taoism

Chapter 28 Scholar before the Saint

Fang Yun picked up a piece of chicken wing, put it in Nunu's bowl, and said, "Eat it."

Nunu immediately cupped her fists with her two little paws to thank Fang Yun, and then ate happily.

Fang Yun and the other four were all amused by the polite little fox. Yang Yuhuan took another piece of meat and put it into Nunu's bowl.

Nunu immediately raised his head and glanced at Yang Yuhuan warily, then looked at the piece of meat, smelled it gently with his nose, and continued to eat the chicken wings given to him by Fang Yun.

After eating Fang Yun's chicken wings, Nunu licked her paws and mouth with her little pink tongue. She didn't look at the meat Yang Yuhuan was holding. She just raised her head and looked at Fang Yun with cute and pitiful eyes, as if to say: Again Give me a piece, just a piece!

Fang Yun didn't expect that Nunu wouldn't eat the meat given by others, so he said: "You can eat that piece of meat with confidence, and you must listen to her in the future."

Nunu lowered his head with a hint of reluctance and began to eat the meat Yang Yuhuan gave him.

Fang Yun reached out and touched its head. Nunu rubbed his head against Fang Yun's hand and ate the meat in one bite, showing a satisfied look, no longer dissatisfied.

Fang Yun fed Nunu while eating. After eating, he discovered that Nunu was obviously not as big as a chicken, but he had eaten a whole chicken, and his belly was bulging.

After dinner, he put Nunu back into the bamboo basket. He rested for a while and continued writing "The Romance of the West Chamber".

Just after writing for a while, Nunu suddenly screamed "嘤嘤".

Fang Yun turned around and saw Nunu pointing at Fang Yun's table with her little paw.

"You want to come up?" Fang Yun asked.

Nunu immediately nodded excitedly.

"Okay." Fang Yun picked it up and looked at its paws carefully. Her paws had pink flesh pads, which were very cute, and there was no trace of dirt or dust. But she was eating meat on the ground just now and didn't wash it. Over the paw.

"If you can protect people with talents, you can keep mosquitoes away from you, and only by becoming a Hanlin can you have a body that is not stained by dust. Even if you haven't bathed for decades, there will be no dirt on your body. Demons may also have a similar body that is not stained." Chen Chen, but his strength must be at least as good as Hanlin's. It is obviously a young fox. Could it be that its status is extraordinary?"

Fang Yun thought to himself and put Nunu on the table.

Fang Yun suddenly asked: "Do you understand the words of our human race?"

Nunu reacted very quickly this time and shook her head firmly.

Fang Yun put his hand on his forehead: "You are so smart!"

Nunu immediately laughed happily, thinking that Fang Yun really praised it.

Fang Yun smiled and continued writing "The Romance of the West Chamber".

Nunu lay on the table and read the words on the paper. At first, his eyes were dazed. After a while, he clarified the relationship between the characters, and immediately became energetic. He stared at it intently, and his expression changed with Fang Yun's words. change.

When writing about Fang Zhiyun and Cui Yingying's love affair, Nunu looked obsessed.

Nunu was very happy when she wrote that Fang Zhiyun helped Cui Yingying resolve the crisis.

When I wrote about Liu Zizheng's plan to harm Fang Zhiyun, Nunu suddenly screamed angrily and slapped the words "Liu Zizheng" with his claws.

"What are you doing!" Fang Yun glared at Nunu.

Nunu looked at Fang Yun angrily, not yet out of the story.

Fang Yun patted its head gently and said, "Be honest, or I won't let you see it."

Only then did Nunu realize that he was too impulsive. He scratched his head with his little paws and smiled shyly, showing an expression of admitting his mistake.

"I didn't expect that my first reader would be a fox." Fang Yun said with a smile.

Nunu screamed in dissatisfaction, as if saying what happened to the fox?

Fang Yun wrote for two hours and felt tired, so he left the east wing with some pens, ink, paper and inkstones. He wanted to teach Yang Yuhuan how to read while he was resting.

Nunu stayed on the table and waited for Fang Yun to leave. He immediately read "The Romance of the West Chamber" from the beginning excitedly, twitching his ears from time to time to listen to Fang Yun's movements.

Fang Yun put the pen, ink, paper and inkstone on the table in the west wing, walked to the door of the main room and saw Yang Yuhuan tidying up the yard.

"Sister Yuhuan, wash your hands and come in. I have something to tell you."

"Oh." Yang Yuhuan took the faceplate and washed his hands, then walked to Fang Yun.

"What's the matter?" Yang Yuhuan looked up at Fang Yun with her beautiful face.

Fang Yun took her hand and walked inside, saying, "I'll teach you how to read and write."

"Yes." Yang Yuhuan felt the warmth and firmness in Fang Yun's hands and agreed softly.

Fang Yun took Yang Yuhuan to the west wing, laid out the white paper, picked up the pen, but did not write immediately.

In this era, the only textbooks available for elementary education were "Hundred Family Surnames" and "Thousand-Character Classics" and some things compiled by liberal arts colleges in various places. There were no famous works of later generations such as "Three Character Classic", "Yan Family Instructions", "Zengguang Xianwen" and "Young School Qionglin". Elementary school reading material.

Fang Yun also remembered the contents of his elementary education. He just memorized the "Thousand-Character Classic" and "Hundred Family Surnames" by rote. It took him a long time to remember them. "The Thousand-Character Essay" contains a thousand very basic characters, neatly contrasted and clearly organized, making it very suitable for children to learn.

After Fang Yun finished studying "The Thousand-Character Classic" and "Hundred Family Surnames", he left the elementary school and went directly to a private school to study the classics of all saints.

"Most of the children here will directly come into contact with books such as The Analects of Confucius after studying "The Thousand Character Classic" and "Hundred Family Surnames". All Saints’ Classics. But Sister Yuhuan can’t read, so let’s start with the Thousand-Character Classic.”

Fang Yun said: "I will teach you the contents of the Thousand-Character Essay. Today I will teach you the eight most basic characters. I will gradually increase the number in the future. You can watch it."

Later, Fang Yun wrote down the eight words "Heaven and Earth are dark and yellow, the universe is primitive" at the beginning of "The Thousand Character Essay", and then explained them to Yang Yuhuan one by one.

After Yang Yuhuan barely remembered it, he asked her to write slowly, while Fang Yun went back to the east wing.

Back in the room, Fang Yun looked at the table. Nothing had changed, except that Nunu was smiling, as if she was trying to please him.

Fang Yun touched its head. This time it was not reluctant, but liked it very much.

Fang Yun continued to write "The Romance of the West Chamber".

After writing a page, Fang Yun was about to change the paper when Nunu suddenly screamed, then stretched out his furry paws and put them on Fang Yun's wrist.

"What's wrong?" Fang Yun asked Nunu.

Nunu couldn't speak, so she pointed her paw at the word "General" on the page and shouted: "Nunu! Nunu!" Seeing that Fang Yun didn't understand, it was a little anxious.

Fang Yun took a closer look at the word and suddenly realized that he was a little anxious at the end and missed a dot in the word "general", so he picked up the pen and added it.

"If the word is wrong, Nunu will take care of it." Fang Yun quoted the allusion "If the song is wrong, Zhou Lang will take care of it" with a smile.

"Hey!" The slave was extremely excited, and the furry tail swept away behind him.

"You have to read it carefully for me from now on. The ancients had red sleeves to accompany them when reading, and I have slaves to add fragrance to it. This book is due to you."

"Hey!" The slave was even more excited and jumped gently. He wanted to jump to Fang Yun's shoulder. Although it had strength to eat meat, he was still insufficient. Fang Yun hurriedly reached out and put it on his chest. The slave just jumped into his arms.

Nunu happily rubbed her head against Fang Yun's chest, looking very happy.

After playing with Nunu for a while, Fang Yun patted its butt and said, "Okay, I'll continue writing the book." He put Nunu on the table.

Nunu's face turned red with embarrassment. She covered her eyes with her two little paws and lay on the table. She stopped looking at what Fang Yun wrote.

After Fang Yun had written a dozen words, it shrugged its ears and looked at Fang Yun secretly. When it found that everything was normal, it slowly raised its head and continued to read "The Romance of the West Chamber" with its furry tail wagging slightly.

Three days flew by, and Fang Yun finally completed the entire "The Romance of the West Chamber".

When he finished writing the last stroke of "The Romance of the West Chamber", Fang Yun's heart moved, he closed his eyes and read into Wen Gong.

There are two changes in Wen Palace.

There are already six stars in the Wen Gong starry sky above, one of which is much larger than the others, representing the poem "Morning Journey to Ji County".

Six stars emit faint light illuminating the statue of Fang Yun. There is a thread of talent on Fang Yun's statue. It was originally only three inches high, but now it is as high as six inches!

Once it reaches ten inches, after being tempered and going to the holy temple to worship, the silk-like talent will expand like a needle and become a scholar.

"Other people's talents need to go to holy temples to worship saints in order to improve them. With these famous articles and stars nourishing me, I may be able to become a rare scholar before the saints. It is said that the scholar before the saints is the limit. Except for the students who have been taught by Confucius himself, no one can become Lift people before the Holy Spirit."

Fang Yun left the Wen Palace, quickly read "The Romance of the West Chamber" silently, made several changes, and finally finalized it.

Fang Yun found that the number of words in "The Romance of the West Chamber" was far less than that of the Four Great Classics, but it was already a very long novel in this era, but as a book, the number of pages was still a bit small.

So Fang Yun wrote a famous piece in the Tang Dynasty legendary novel "The Pillow Story". This novel derived an idiom that is more widely circulated than the title of the book, namely Huang Liang Yi Meng.

"The Story of the Pillow" tells the story of a poor scholar who met a world-traveling semi-sage in an inn. The semi-sage saw that although he was talented, he was obsessed with official status, so he gave him a cultural treasure pillow. After getting the pillow, the scholar fell asleep. At this moment, the inn kitchen was just beginning to steam yellow rice.

The scholar dreamed that he was very successful in his official career, and finally became the Prime Minister, a very popular minister, and enjoyed all the glory and wealth. However, he was falsely accused of treason by other high-ranking officials, and was captured and imprisoned in a heavenly prison by the king. A few years later, his grievances were rehabilitated, and he once again became a very popular minister. He was full of children and grandchildren, all of whom were promising.

Finally, he got old and wanted to resign, but the monarch did not allow it. However, he saw through everything and wrote a memorial to resign. He died not long after.

Then the scholar woke up, the half-sage was still beside him, and the yellow rice steamed in the inn was not yet ripe.

The scholar achieved great enlightenment and no longer pursued fame and wealth, but concentrated on the holy way and eventually became a great Confucian.

Fang Yun felt that "The Story of the Pillow" was more in line with the mainstream thoughts of Shengyuan Continent, so he made some slight changes and turned it into a suitable short story.

Both novels were punctuated, divided into paragraphs, and had more pages, ending up with over one hundred and fifty pages in total.

It was already afternoon when he finished writing. Fang Yun took a nap. After dinner, he asked Fang Daniu to drive to Zhou Mansion.

The Prefecture Literary Academy and the Prefecture Yamen are on the same level, and the highest officials are all third-rank officials. Although Master Zhou was only a sixth-rank official, he was in charge of Wenhuiyuan and other institutions. He had great real power. He was also responsible for some of the affairs of the entire state. His power was no less than that of a fifth-rank prefect.
