The Sage of Confucianism and Taoism
Chapter 506: Holy Pen Writing
On the way to the temple, Fang Yun kept thinking that whoever's works he read would resonate with his thoughts, so choosing the works was the most important.
Generally speaking, it is best to read the works of the six sub-sages and Confucius. Not to mention that the seven sages have a high level of thought, the power they left in the world alone is far greater than that of other semi-sages, and the resonance formed is stronger.
Among the six sub-sages, except for Zhou Wenwang's "Zhou Yi", the other five are considered disciples or second-generation disciples of Confucius. Instead of reading their books, it is better to read Confucius' works directly.
Confucius once compiled the Six Classics, which are "The Book of Songs", "The Book of History", "The Book of Rites of Zhou", "The Book of Changes", "The Book of Music" and "The Spring and Autumn Annals". They are the six highest classics of Confucianism and the source of Confucianism in Shengyuan Continent.
Fang Yun really wants to read "The Book of Changes", but "The Book of Changes" is the first of the classics personally sealed by Confucius, including "The Book of Changes" and "The Book of Changes". Finally, if Confucius had not personally written the preface to the Zhouyi and the Yizhuan to explain the Zhouyi, even the descendants of King Wen of Zhou would not have been able to read it.
Now, those who are proficient in the Yijing are either the children of Confucius or the descendants of King Wen of Zhou. They have natural advantages, and it is difficult for others to surpass them in terms of realm if they specialize in the Yijing.
Confucianism has three rituals.
The Zhouli records the official system of the Zhou Dynasty, and after Confucius edited it, he used the official system to express the Confucian concept of governing the country.
The Yili is a ritual system compiled by Confucius' disciples, mainly based on the rituals of scholars and officials, including the ceremony of capping, weddings, funerals, sacrifices and other systems.
The ritual system of the human race has been changing, so after the Zhouli and Yili, a classic more suitable for scholars appeared, the Book of Rites.
The Book of Rites is the work of the semi-sage Dai Sheng of the Western Han Dynasty. The content of the Book of Rites is divided into four categories. The first category is to explain the Zhou Li and Yili, the second category is to record various rituals, the third category records the words of Confucius and his disciples, and the fourth category is the articles written by the representative figures of Confucianism.
Among them, the most famous chapters in the Book of Rites are the Great Learning and the Doctrine of the Mean. The Great Learning is the work of Zengzi, the second sage, while the Doctrine of the Mean is the work of Confucius' grandson, the second sage Zisizi.
In the Song Dynasty of the ancient Chinese country, the Great Learning and the Doctrine of the Mean were even separated from the Book of Rites by Zhu Xi, and listed as the "Four Books" together with the Analects and Mencius.
In Shengyuan Continent, there is no saying of Four Books and Five Classics, only Six Classics, Thirteen Classics, etc.
Now Shengyuan Continent attaches more importance to the Book of Rites, and does not attach importance to Zhou Li and Yili, so Fang Yun is not going to recite the Three Rites.
The Book of Songs is the source of poetry, and the Book of Music is the source of music and rhythm. It can be seen that poetry and music have a very high status in Confucianism. Some later generations even speculated that the reason why Confucius compiled the Book of Songs was to lay the foundation for future war poetry. Therefore, even if the human race did not have a poet saint or a lyric saint at this time, many people believed that after the human race's poetry accumulated to a certain extent, there would inevitably be a poet saint and a lyric saint.
The human race has been making progress. The changes from Zhouli to Yili and then to Liji are the best proof. Even the most conservative and old-fashioned etiquette system is changing, and other aspects are self-evident.
It's just that the Book of Songs and the Book of Music are of limited help to the literary position and can only be used as an auxiliary.
As for Shangshu, Fang Yun didn't even have to think about it. This is an ancient historical document and prose collection that records the Yao, Shun, Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties. What is said in the book is extremely obscure, and even the university scholar can hardly fully understand it.
In the sixth mountain, a mysterious man stopped Fang Yun by reciting the Book of History. Fang Yun obtained part of the true meaning of the Book of History, but because there were too many incomplete parts, Fang Yun could not practice it at all.
Thinking of the mysterious man, Fang Yun looked down at his right hand. There was still a thin horizontal scar on his palm, which could not be healed so far.
That strand of hair had been suppressed in the world of strange books.
Finally, Fang Yun found that he could only learn the Spring and Autumn Annals.
In fact, Fang Yun wanted to learn the Analects the most, because it recorded the words of Confucius and his disciples, but the Analects was not written by Confucius himself, but by his disciples, barely staying at the level of the sub-sage, while the Spring and Autumn Annals was a real book of saints.
Thinking of the Spring and Autumn Annals, Fang Yun remembered his mysterious experience after reading ten thousand volumes of books in the Ten Kingdoms Competition. He entered the colorful river and personally experienced what happened in the Spring and Autumn Period for more than 200 years, and even saw things that were not recorded in books such as the Spring and Autumn Annals and Zuo Zhuan.
However, Fang Yun had an illusion that everything was actually recorded in the Spring and Autumn Annals, but many people just couldn't read it all.
Fang Yun thought of the "Ancient Galaxy Tributaries" recorded in the ancient demon heritage. He had already made a bet with the demon saints that the Ancient Galaxy Tributaries were placed in the Holy Courtyard. As long as he could get the Ancient Galaxy Tributaries and his literary position reached a certain level, he could use the methods recorded in the ancient demon heritage to enter the legendary land and obtain the true supreme secret.
However, the process of entering the legendary land requires a terrible baptism of power. Fang Yun thought of the colorful bracelets that appeared more than 200 years after the Spring and Autumn Annals, and was sure that the Spring and Autumn Annals could help him to a certain extent.
So Fang Yun took a deep breath, walked to the center of the holy temple, sat on the ground like people in the Spring and Autumn Period, faced the statue of Confucius, and recited the original text of the Spring and Autumn Annals.
"In the first year of the reign, in the first month of the king's reign. In the third month, the Duke and Zhu Yifu made an alliance at Mie. In the fifth month of the summer, Duke Zheng defeated Duan at Yan..."
When Fang Yun read the first word, everything in front of him suddenly collapsed. Then he saw a carving knife appear in front of him. Under the carving knife were blank bamboo slips, and an old hand holding the carving knife was slowly carving words.
Originally, there was only a slight sound when the carving knife entered the bamboo slips, but this carving knife caused a strange sound, sometimes like a clear spring flowing over a stone, sometimes like a giant hammer hitting a bronze bell, sometimes like the shouting of thousands of troops, and sometimes like the collapse of stars...
Every stroke seemed to be creating a new world.
The old hand carved the word that Fang Yun read.
Every time a word was carved, a strange force condensed in the word, and finally formed golden words that flew out and quickly flew into Fang Yun's eyebrows, making Fang Yun feel like spring breeze.
Fang Yun was ecstatic. This was not a simple "resonance of thoughts", but a higher level of "holy pen writing". Only the most talented descendants of the saints had the opportunity to inspire it.
Holy Court, East Saint Pavilion.
Papers and books were flying all over the room, seemingly messy but actually in order. An old man was wandering in the sky, his eyes constantly flashing the scenes of the stars, the rising and setting of the sun.
Suddenly, the image in the old man's eyes disappeared, and he turned his head to the north, looking towards the direction of the capital of Jingguo.
"Good!"
The old man just said one word, and hundreds of pens danced in the room, thousands of scrolls rang by themselves, and ink bloomed.
In the Kong Mansion.
"Something big happened! The Spring and Autumn Annals rang by itself, and a drop of holy blood dimmed, as if someone had stolen the thoughts of Kong Zu!"
The whole Kong family was in chaos.
The capital, the holy temple of the academy.
Fang Yun continued to recite the Spring and Autumn Annals.
The scholar could not fully absorb the power of the holy pen at all. Fang Yun knew that this part of the power would subtly affect himself until he grew to a very high literary position before he could fully absorb it.
In the process of Fang Yun reciting the Spring and Autumn Annals, his talent recovered at an unstoppable speed. After only a quarter of an hour, the three talents overflowed ten inches and could not be increased.
Fang Yun did not leave immediately, but waited for half an hour before getting up. At this time, the Spring and Autumn Annals was not fully read, but Fang Yun was not in a hurry, and he could continue reading when he came back.
Fang Yun returned to the battlefield of literature again and saw Zhang Chengyu instructing Cui Wang. The two stopped immediately when they saw Fang Yun coming back.
Guo Zitong, the Grand Secretary of the Academy, nodded and said, "As expected of Fang Zhenguo, I also guessed that you would recover your talent in advance. Next, Ke Yuan."
Fang Yun and Ke Yuan began to spar. Ke Yuan, like Chen Liyue before, only used verbal attacks to make Fang Yun familiar with the fighting methods of Jinshi.
After his talent was exhausted, Fang Yun went to the temple again and continued to recite the Spring and Autumn Annals slowly.
Fang Yun now did not force himself to understand the great principles in the Spring and Autumn Annals, nor did he force himself to connect with the thoughts of Confucius in books such as the Analects and Confucius' Family Sayings. He only learned but did not think, because if he went in the wrong direction when it came to the holy way, he would be doomed.
After reciting for half an hour, Fang Yun went to the battlefield of literature again to spar.
In the next few days, Fang Yun continued to spar with the nine Jinshi of Shangshe. At the beginning, they only used verbal attacks.
On the third day, only three people's verbal battles could defeat Fang Yun's defense.
Then they began to attack Fang Yun with the Jinshi War Poems, so that Fang Yun could get familiar with the Jinshi War Poems.
On the fifth day, no one could defeat Fang Yun with only the War Poems.
Finally, only five people could defeat Fang Yun with the Shangshe Jinshi using both.
In this process, not only Fang Yun was improving, but every Shangshe Jinshi was also improving. Their room for improvement was much larger than Fang Yun. After all, Fang Yun had reached the limit of the Juren, and it was difficult to increase the power of the literary battle without becoming a Jinshi.
Later, Fang Yun put more thoughts on verbal battles and Jinshi War Poems, and indirectly strengthened himself by resolving the Jinshi's attack methods.
From beginning to end, Fang Yun did not use the power of the mist butterfly.
At the same time, a message spread among the saints' families that a drop of Confucius' true blood disappeared in the Kong Mansion inexplicably.
October passed, November came, and Jingguo, which was close to the northern barbarians, had begun to snow.
However, the people of Jingguo did not wear too thick clothes, because the Shengyuan Continent was full of vitality, and ordinary people were also very strong. After obtaining a literary position, they were even more immune to cold and heat.
On the morning of the third day of November, the Dragon Saint's decree came from the Dragon Palace in the East China Sea, ordering the human race who were qualified to participate in the Dragon Platform to go to the Dragon Palace in the East China Sea.
A quarter of an hour later, Fang Yun hurriedly said goodbye to his family, embarked on Guo Zitong's meteoric rise, and flew to the Dragon Palace in the East China Sea together.
Passing by Tuming Mountain, thousands of monsters suddenly attacked, and there was even a monster king at the same level as the university scholar.
Fang Yun was frightened but did not change his face.
Guo Zitong casually took out a page of the great scholar's true text and recited it, killing thousands of monsters, and finally killed the monster king with his own hands with a lip-sharp sword. When passing by the next city, he sent a letter to the officials to deal with the corpses.
Half an hour later, passing by the Bohai Sea, the second group of monsters attacked, and Guo Zitong killed all the monsters again.
Flying for three hours, encountered four attacks.
Arriving at the East China Sea, two poisonous dragons and great demon kings over 20 feet long suddenly rushed out, and unexpectedly activated the power of a drop of demon saint blood at the same time.
The great demon king is equivalent to a great scholar, and with the help of the saint blood, it is enough to kill Fang Yun and Guo Zitong in the blink of an eye.
At the critical moment, a golden semi-saint true text flew out from Guo Zitong's arms, rising a hundred feet in the wind, like the sun rising in the east, shining on the world, seemingly flying lightly towards the two poisonous dragons and great demon kings, and before the semi-saint true text approached, the two poisonous dragons and great demon kings were blown into pieces.
