The Second Empire of Azeroth
#121 - Garrosh the Proud
To make a person perish, you must first make them insane!
Roger didn't directly eliminate these Orcs from other timelines, but retreated first. Because attacking at this time would only eliminate a portion of the Orcs, and Kairoz and Garrosh, whom he had brought, would definitely escape.
A temporary retreat could lure these two culprits deeper, then spring a trap.
As for that Draenor on the other side of the portal, Roger had no interest in it. His forces were insufficient to occupy it, and even if the Dark Portal led to the original Azeroth, it would just be a burden.
The Dark Portal in Frostfire Ridge opened in Blade's Edge Canyon, and outside Blade's Edge Canyon was the ogre's fortress—Blade's Edge Fortress.
When the Dark Portal first opened, the Blade's Edge ogres, like the Highmaul ogres, also sent troops to prevent demons from entering this world. However, without the help of the Orcs, the Blade's Edge ogres were already few in number and were no match for the endless demons. Soon, these Blade's Edge ogres retreated back to Blade's Edge Fortress, defending the city.
Relying on the solid Blade's Edge Fortress, the demons were never able to eliminate this ogre force.
The Alliance's arrival did not launch an attack on Blade's Edge Fortress, because they didn't want any new enemies before eliminating the demons. Moreover, the environment of Frostfire Ridge was too harsh, and the Alliance had no intention of occupying it at all. Not to mention Frostfire Ridge, even Gorgrond, the Alliance had no intention of occupying. The Alliance only wanted to eliminate the demons and the Blackrock ore there, who told the Gronn to be uncooperative?
The Blade's Edge ogres were different; they were very sensible and didn't provoke the Alliance at all. They couldn't even defeat the demons, so they were even more no match for the Alliance that defeated the demons.
When the Alliance retreated, the Blade's Edge ogres thought that the Alliance had defeated the demons and destroyed the Dark Portal, and retreated because they didn't want to live in the harsh Frostfire Ridge.
So, they happily walked out of Blade's Edge Fortress, wanting to clean up the battlefield and get some corpses to eat.
Ogres are very strange creatures; they eat everything, whether it's grass roots, bark, or dead corpses, as long as they can fill their stomachs. Their developed digestive system can even digest demon flesh full of fel energy. The Alliance's retreat meant that the remaining demon corpses on the battlefield were their best food.
Soon, they found a large number of demon corpses. Just as they were transporting these corpses back to Blade's Edge Fortress, a large group of Orcs rushed out.
A charge wiped out these ogres.
The Orcs followed the ogres' tracks, found Blade's Edge Fortress, killed all the ogres, and occupied it.
The two mysterious Orcs also entered Blade's Edge Fortress with the Orcish army. After occupying an empty room, they revealed their faces—a brown-skinned Orc and a yellow-skinned Orc.
Kairoz was speechless. He felt that his education over the years had been a failure.
Fortunately, Garrosh didn't completely ignore him. When Grommash brought in intelligence, Garrosh made tactical arrangements very seriously.
"Although the Alliance has retreated into Zangar Sea, they will re-enter Frostfire Ridge when they gather more soldiers. We must use Blade's Edge Fortress as a base to gather as many troops as possible." Garrosh pointed to the top of the mountain east of Blade's Edge Canyon, "Build a new camp here to prevent the Alliance from attacking suddenly."
"Leave this to the Thunderlord Clan, they are familiar with everything in Frostfire Ridge," Grommash said.
Garrosh nodded and continued, "We can't wait for the Alliance to attack, so we must send out a commando army to catch them off guard while the Alliance hasn't gained a foothold."
"Let the Blackrock Clan attack Gorgrond and occupy Blackrock Mountain. The Blackrock ore there is an important strategic material and must be in our hands."
"The Warsong Clan will attack Talador to the south, using our racial specialties to attack the enemy's weak points, so they can't concentrate their forces."
"The Bleeding Hollow Clan and the Bonechewer Clan will attack Hellfire Peninsula to contain the enemy's forces."
… …
One order after another was passed down, and the entire Iron Horde began to move.
Standing in the sky above Blade's Edge Fortress, watching the Orcish army advancing below, Kairoz couldn't help but feel a surge of pride. No wonder Garrosh dared to be so arrogant. With such a powerful army, anyone would have a domineering feeling of having the world in their hands.
He looked at Garrosh next to him. No wonder this guy always liked to stand at a high place!
Garrosh didn't notice Kairoz's gaze. He was fully focused on watching the army advance. Roger was strong, but he was just one person. Faced with such a powerful army, even a god would be afraid.
None of the Orcs noticed that in the high sky, an Arcane Eye was watching all the movements of the Orcs.
In the temporary camp in Zangar Sea, Khadgar marked the Orcs' new military routes.
Turalyon was a little surprised, "It seems that this Iron Horde has a big appetite!"
"That's right!" Roger said, "They are relying on their numbers and want to push us horizontally."
Everyone's faces showed disdain. They had already passed the era of fighting with numbers. If Roger hadn't ordered a retreat, they would have blocked the Dark Portal and beaten the Orcs violently.
"Turalyon, give the order!"
Turalyon nodded, pointed to the map and said, "Lord Mu'ru, please take people to ambush at the entrance of Gorgrond. Treants and Dryads will help you ambush the Orcs!"
"Lord Velen, please take people to block the entrance of Blade's Edge Fortress, and the Alva will give you support at sea."
"Lord Ansu, please follow Roger to attack the Dark Portal."
"The rest of you, follow me to attack the Orcs from the side and rear, and be sure to annihilate all these Orcs!"
Everyone took orders one after another. They knew that if they fought this battle well, it would be the Alliance's last war. If they didn't fight this battle well, the Alliance would never have peace!
"Departure!"
