The Second Empire of Azeroth

#137 - Windseeker's Imprisoned Skull

The fire elementals and lava elementals looked at Roger, the uninvited guest, in surprise. None of them had expected anyone to dare enter the Molten Core seeking death.

However, they hadn't seen an outsider for who knows how many years. Now that one had come seeking death, they were happy to play with this intruder.

Just as these elemental creatures rushed towards Roger, eager to set him ablaze, Roger didn't even glance at them, and a powerful surge of arcane energy swept outwards.

“Boom—”

Arcane Explosion!

The fire elementals directly collapsed, leaving only their elemental bracelets, the tools they used to condense into physical form.

The lava elementals turned into pools of lava, quickly cooling into stone.

Adhering to the principle of not wasting anything, Roger took out an Arcanite Crystal Charging Device and placed it near the corpses. After the device was activated, it automatically collected the surrounding fire element to charge the Arcanite Crystal.

“Mortal, how dare you invade the territory of the Lord of Fire!”

A tall fire elemental, leading a group of lackeys, floated over aggressively. “Kill him, let him know the consequences of offending the Lord of Fire!”

The fire elementals quickly charged towards Roger, only to turn into ashes in the Arcane Explosion.

Roger indifferently took out the charging device and threw it on the ground. In his eyes, these fire elementals were nothing more than a pile of energy. Even the tall fire elemental before him was no different, except that it had more energy.

“Damn mortal, you dare steal the energy of the Lord of Fire!”

The fire elemental roared, casting Flame Strike at Roger, trying to kill him with this extreme burning.

Roger gently raised his hand, and a mana shield blocked the flames' attack. He walked out of the flames, and threw a Counterspell at the fire elemental.

“Puff—”

A large number of sparks burst from the fire elemental's body, and its body began to sway.

“Damn it, how could you counter my spell?” the fire elemental asked in confusion.

Roger said as he walked, “Interrupting elemental spellcasting is indeed difficult, but as long as you cut off the connection between you and the spell, you can form a counter.”

The fire elemental's confusion was not resolved. “But, you even caused me to suffer the backlash of the spell—”

“That is indeed more difficult!” Roger explained, “But as long as you master the Spirit of the Elements, you can easily do this.”

Spirit of the Elements? The fire elemental trembled violently, as if reflecting its violently fluctuating heart.

“Who exactly are you?”

“Rogers Kischern!”

As Roger spoke his name to the fire elemental, he used arcane magic to create a barrier, enclosing the fire elemental within it. Arcane energy surged through the barrier towards the fire elemental, transforming into thin needles that pierced into the fire elemental's body, then frantically extracting the fire elemental's energy and guiding it into the charging device.

“Mortal, you are desecrating the Lord of Fire!”

Roger teased, “After listening to you talk about the Lord of Fire for so long, why doesn't your Lord of Fire come to save you?”

“Don't try to sow discord. Garr will not be fooled.”

“Garr?”

Roger became interested when he heard the fire elemental's name. He looked at Garr with interest, wondering if Garr had that item with him.

He condensed an Arcane Hand and plunged it into Garr's body, and sure enough, he touched a hard object.

Garr's expression changed drastically. “Stop! Don't touch it!”

But how could Roger listen to him? He forcefully pulled the hard object out of Garr's body.

“Ah—”

Garr screamed miserably, and his body dissipated. This made charging easier, and the charging device accelerated the extraction of Garr's energy. In just a few seconds, it completely filled an Arcanite Crystal.

Roger replaced it with another crystal, and then examined the item in his hand.

[Killed Fire Elemental Lord Baron Garr, Fire Elemental Affinity increased, Fire Resistance increased]

Roger still focused his gaze on the half of the Imprisoned Skull in his hand, completely ignoring the second strange system prompt. Killing a Fire Elemental Lord could actually increase Fire Elemental Affinity and Resistance, which was completely illogical. But Roger was already mentally prepared and didn't find it strange at all.

In fact, he even thought it made sense.

“If I remember correctly, the other half should be in Shazzrah's hands, right?”

Roger raised his head, looked towards the passage on his left, and strode over.

Along the way, there were still a large number of fire elementals and magma elementals. While killing these elementals, Roger extracted the fire elemental energy from their bodies to charge the crystals.

Soon, he arrived at a hall filled with wandering magma elementals. Among the magma elementals, there were scattered fire elementals called Flame Imps and a huge ancient core hound. In the middle of the hall, a group of tall magma elementals, the Firewalkers, guarded an even larger magma elemental.

It was Shazzrah!

When Roger appeared in the hall, he immediately triggered the fire elementals' alarm.

Shazzrah led the Firewalkers, pushed aside the nearby fire elemental creatures, and came to a spot not far from Roger.

“Outlander, this is not a place you should be.”

Roger shrugged, “A fire elemental named Garr just said the same thing!”

When Shazzrah heard this, he immediately felt that something was wrong. If Baron Garr had encountered this human, he would have killed him. However, this human seemed unharmed, so Baron Garr was probably in dire straits.

His strength was comparable to Baron Garr's; otherwise, Ragnaros would not have divided Thunderaan's Imprisoned Skull into two and sealed them in their bodies.

“Quick! Kill him!” Shazzrah ordered the fire elemental creatures to attack.

But what greeted them was a surge of powerful arcane energy.

Arcane Explosion! Roger used the same trick again!

But whether it was the Flame Imps or the ancient core hounds, they all perished in the Arcane Explosion. Their seemingly powerful strength was not worth mentioning in front of Roger.

Roger calmly took out the charging device and threw it into the corpses, then walked towards Shazzrah.

Shazzrah was terrified. Although the Flame Imps and ancient core hounds were no match for him and the Firewalkers, they were not creatures that could be killed instantly by just anyone, not even Ragnaros could do that.

Roger did not give Shazzrah and the Firewalkers time to think. The Arcane Hand plunged into Shazzrah's body.

Only then did Shazzrah realize Roger's purpose. He anxiously shouted to the Firewalkers, “Quick, stop him! If he succeeds, the Lord of Fire will not spare any of us.”

The Firewalkers immediately attacked Roger, but Roger annihilated this group of Firewalkers with just a few Arcane Explosions.

“Now it's just us left!”

With that, Roger began rummaging through Shazzrah's body.
