The Second Empire of Azeroth
#88 - Glory Harbor
Under the relentless barrage of the Apexis cannons, the demons suffered heavy casualties. Only by hiding in the valley were any demons able to survive.
Amidst the chaos of the demons, many Bonechewer orcs seized the opportunity to escape. In the past, the demons would have undoubtedly captured these slaves and tortured them to death, but now they were too busy trying to save their own lives to care about the fate of the Bonechewer orcs.

Magtheridon also arrived in the valley, his face unusually grim as he watched the flashes of light in the sky. This valley was not a place to stay for long. He had to find a location that the magic cannons couldn't reach to use as a base, and then slowly summon more demons.
The Apexis cannons finally ceased their attack. The energy of the Arkonite crystals was, after all, limited. To sustain such a high-intensity attack for ten minutes was already remarkable. Moreover, the Demon Faller needed to reserve some energy for propulsion.
With the Dark Portal destroyed, the objective of this battle had been achieved. The reason Roger had the Apexis cannons continue firing was to leave Magtheridon with a deep impression, ensuring he wouldn't attack Honor Hold.
The Demon Faller sailed west along the coastline, while Roger, riding a black dragon whelp, flew into the sky to find a landing site near Honor Hold. He wanted to establish a port in the southern Hellfire Peninsula to facilitate support for Honor Hold.
Roger had considered withdrawing all the troops from Honor Hold, but abandoning this stronghold was a pity.
Soon, Roger found a suitable location on the coastline south of Hellfire Citadel. It was a delta formed by a river, and due to the drop in sea level, a large area of land had been exposed. However, the river channels along the mountains surrounding Faraalon were still fast and deep, allowing the Demon Faller to sail inland and reach a riverbank only a few dozen miles from Honor Hold.
Roger sent people to contact Honor Hold, and then once again used the Breath of Life to create forests and establish a simple camp and dock.
Before long, Turalyon and Khadgar led their troops over. They all wore curious expressions as they looked at the 'strange' Demon Faller.
"Is this the warship you used to defeat the demons and destroy the Dark Portal?"
Roger nodded and introduced the magic warship to the two, "It's called the Demon Faller. It's a magic warship built with Apexis and Draenei technology. The power core is composed of a hundred Arkonite crystals, which can support a full-power firing of an Apexis cannon a thousand times. Ten Apexis cannons are installed on the deck, which means that, without considering power, each cannon can fire an average of one hundred times."
Roger then recounted the battle with the demons, and the two immediately became interested in this tactic of killing enemies from a distance while remaining unscathed.
While building the port, the two would often visit the workshops in the camp.
Inside the workshop, Roger, along with Draenei artisans and members of the Swords of Lothar, was producing Apexis cannons. He wanted to install ten Apexis cannons around the port and camp to defend against demons, orcs, or ogres attacking the port.
Four cannons were installed on the watchtowers of the dock, four were installed on the watchtowers around the camp, and the remaining two were installed on nearby hilltops. The ten cannons formed a network of fire, blocking all possible routes of attack on the dock as much as possible.
The orcs in Hellfire Citadel were the first to discover the port's activity. They sent people to scout, but several were killed by the Apexis cannons as soon as they revealed themselves. The remaining orc scouts quickly returned to report, and Grommash Hellscream felt a headache upon hearing this. He wasn't afraid of fighting humans head-on. With his bravery, he could easily kill even the strongest human warriors. What he feared were all kinds of strange spells. After all, mages were the darlings of the world, whether in Azeroth or Draenor.
The ogres also sent people to observe, and after testing the waters, they also retreated.
The power of the Apexis cannons made the two major forces around Honor Hold dare not act rashly, and Roger began to accelerate the construction of the port. In less than a month, the port was successfully built, and the camp was upgraded to a fortress.
Because it was close to Honor Hold, Roger named the port Honor Port.
Roger did not insist on keeping these two artifacts. Although they were precious, they were far inferior to the Dragon Soul. Moreover, the value of the Book of Medivh lay in the knowledge it contained. Roger had long since learned the knowledge and recorded it in his own spellbook. Coupled with his own understanding of magic, the value of his Book of Rogers had surpassed that of the Book of Medivh.
As for leaving behind the Scepter of Sargeras, it was because Roger wanted to continue studying teleportation magic. As long as he could understand the principle of portals, Roger could open portals from the Black Temple to Shattrath, Honor Hold, and other places, saving time on travel. When the research reached an advanced stage, reopening the Dark Portal and returning to Azeroth would not be impossible.
While fulfilling the alliance's friendship, he also did not allow his allies to become too strong. After all, in terms of allegiance, Roger belonged to the Kingdom of Stormwind, and Khadgar belonged to Dalaran. Although the Alliance was united, there was also competition.
When dividing the property of Karazhan, Roger and Khadgar had conflicts, but neither of them took it to heart. Before the orcs, or even the Burning Legion, were dealt with, personal conflicts would be put aside.
After settling everything in Honor Port, the Demon Faller left Honor Port and sailed west to Talador.
Due to the tearing of the Dark Portal, the mountains east of Tuurem fractured in the middle, forming a new river channel. The lake water around Tuurem flowed into the sea, turning Tuurem from a small island into a large island. Following the river channel, the Demon Faller docked around Tuurem, and Roger rode a black dragon whelp to Shattrath.
He was eager to return to his wife's side, as Alleria had reached her due date.
