The Trinity of Harry Potter

Chapter 32 The Centaur Council

When Kano entered the door, he saw an old centaur with silver mane and brown eyes.

He has an old face but deep eyes. He wears a simple linen robe with several blue stripes dyed with unknown plants.

"Welcome, Son of Oak." The old centaur stretched out his hand, and Kano reached out to hold it.

"Hello, elder. My name is Canopus Black. Thank you for your help last night." Cano said.

"You're welcome. The stars changed last night because of your arrival, and I got inspiration from it." The elder pointed upward and said.

"Your name is very interesting. It is closely related to the stars, right?" The elder pulled up a chair, and Kano could see that it was specially prepared for humans.

"Yes, my name follows family tradition. The star Canopus belongs to the southern constellation Carnot." Cano explained.

"Your life is closely connected with the oak tree, and the southern constellation Carina was formed by the Argo rising into the sky in Greek mythology." The old horseman showed an interested smile, "The only thing on the Argo that is related to oak is it.

The talking board made from the branches of the sacred oak tree of Dodona.”

"There is also a saying that it is made into a ship's bow statue that can open its mouth to guide the course and predict the future." Kano nodded, "I prefer this theory. After all, the wooden planks on the ship's bow are far less majestic than the ship's bow statue."

"But there is no bow in the South Sea." The old horseman's smile remained unchanged, "Because Jason was killed by the bow statue that fell off the decaying Argo in his later years, so it did not rise into the sky with the Argo.

, become a constellation.”

"Interesting, isn't it?"

"It's indeed interesting. There is a subtle sense of dislocation." Kano nodded, "But unless you know the constellations like you do, you won't notice it."

"You don't want to talk about mythology with me today, do you? Elder, you came to see me for something, what's the matter?" Kano stopped going around in circles, but the old horseman looked like he still had something to say.

"Don't worry, I told Dumbledore that you can recuperate here for a day today and then go back to the castle tomorrow."

"We'll talk about business later at night. Now let's go hang out in the settlement. You are our honored guest." The elder smiled and sent Kano out the door, telling Abby to take him for a walk.

"Understood, elder!" Abby jumped, pulled Kano and ran away, and the little unicorn quickly followed.

Kano's steps were still a bit pretentious. After all, he held a ceremony last night and then lost a lot of blood.

After running a few steps, Abby stopped and shook her little head in confusion.

"What's wrong, Abby?" Kano asked.

"I was thinking about where to take you to play, but there are no flowers or fruits in this season. I can't take you to the river to fish." Abby said with some distress.

"Actually, I don't mind...what have you been doing lately?" Kano asked.

"Recently, the elder has started asking everyone to stock up on food and make weapons." Abby scratched her long hair, "He said that Mars is shining and war may not be far away."

Kano knew in his heart that the horse people's predictions of the general situation have always been accurate.

"But the evening is the day for us centaurs to hold meetings. After the meeting, we can have a big meal." Abby looked longingly.

In the end, Abby took Kano and the little unicorn down to the river to catch fish. Kano made a wooden spear and rolled up his trouser legs to catch fish. Abby kept holding various dried fruits and tried to feed the little unicorn.

The horned beast feeds.

In the evening, Kano skewered seven or eight big fish on branches and carried them in his hands, and returned to the centaur camp.

A huge bonfire has been set up in an open space, and horse people are coming and going, carrying dried fruits, water and the prey caught today.

The elder was sitting on a stage, taking a nap with his eyes half closed. When he saw Kano coming back, he waved to him to sit next to him.

As night fell, the centaurs came out of their respective houses. This time, even the children participated, and Kano made his appearance in front of all the centaurs.

"This is Canopus Black, the son of the oak tree. Yesterday he rescued the dying unicorn in the woods." The elder introduced Canopus.

"Today's meeting is about the upcoming Wizarding War. Canopus will be observing, so everyone can start speaking freely."

As the elder announced the start of the meeting, the adult centaurs quickly divided into three teams. Standing at the head of the three teams were Bain, Ronan and Firenze.

"They represent three different opinions. Anyone who supports them will stand behind them."

Abby whispered to Kano, and the centaurs were really voting with their feet.

"Compatriots! Our bows and arrows are used to protect our homeland, not as human shields for the wizards! I am opposed to intervening in the wizard war, let them fight on their own."

Behind Bain are mostly powerful young centaurs, but they are not willing to get involved in the wizard war at all and prefer to form a stronghold to protect themselves.

At the same time, they are also dissatisfied with wizards. After all, few wizards can communicate with centaurs on an equal footing. They generally regard centaurs as a type of magical creatures.

After Bain's speech ended, Firenze stood up. Behind him were many older centaurs. Although they were quiet, they exuded a presence that could not be ignored.

"I think we should intervene in the Wizarding War to a limited extent." Firenze first expressed his opinion.

"This wizarding war is very likely to be initiated by a mysterious man. His attitude towards non-human races is very clear to everyone. Once he wins, it will be impossible for us to just settle down."

"But our people cannot afford the expense on the battlefield. So I propose to send a small team of centaurs to accompany Dumbledore's side to participate in the war."

"All these centaurs may die. To express my determination, I am willing to serve as the captain of this team."

Although Firenze looks very dreamy, his proposal is very realistic. He regards this team of centaurs sent out, including himself, as a sacrifice.

He believed that Dumbledore's side would win, and their sacrifices could provide the centaurs with a more comfortable environment after the war.

His speech caused some commotion, and several centaurs walked into Bain's team.

Ronan was the last to speak.

"Compatriots, I am usually responsible for the internal affairs of the tribe. I wonder if you have noticed that the number of prey in the Forbidden Forest is decreasing."

Many centaurs in Bain's team looked thoughtful.

"Everyone knows why. The number of eight-eyed spiders has been growing rapidly in recent years. Rabbits, deer, foxes, and even wolves are all on their diet."

"Because we couldn't find the spiders' nest for the time being, this year, we used the excess herbs and fruits to exchange some food reserves with Dumbledore."

"But once the wizards get into a fight, what should we do? It's not a matter of missing a few meals."

Ronan finally concluded: "Food is the most important material for the tribe. For this reason, I think we should find a way to speed up the end of the Wizarding War."

The horse people talked a lot, because this is not a matter of attitude, but a matter of life and death of the tribe.

"Okay, that's it."

The elder spoke, and the centaurs became quiet.

"Kano, what do you think?"

All the centaurs immediately focused their attention on Kano.
