The Trinity of Harry Potter

Chapter 87 The Detective's Former Residence

"Where do you want to go today?" Kano asked, bringing a glass of milk to Fleur and sitting next to her.

The young girl and girl who had confirmed their relationship were in a happy mood. Furong was planning to spend two more days in the UK, so Kano naturally accompanied her.

But today, it was Fleur who decided where to go.

"I want to go see Baker Street." Fleur said with a smile, "The Sherlock Holmes in the book is really amazing, just like a wizard."

"But you are the wizard." Kano said funny.

"But he used Muggle methods to achieve things that even wizards may not be able to do." Fleur drank the milk and kissed Kano on the face, leaving a milk mark.

"Okay, let's go!"

The two of them packed up, and Fleur pushed Kano out of the apartment.

The image of Detective Sherlock Holmes created by Sir Conan Doyle is deeply rooted in people's hearts around the world, but 221b Baker Street in his book is a semi-virtual address.

Baker Street existed, but it ended at No. 85.

It wasn't until the 1930s when Baker Street was renovated and the house numbers were renumbered that this classic house number came into being.

Kano and Fleur took the bus to Baker Street Station and followed the eye-catching signs to No. 221b Baker Street.

This is Abbey National Bank, and there is a sign at the door: "Sherlock Holmes' Office."

"Isn't the Sherlock Holmes Memorial here?" Fleur looked at Kano in confusion, and Kano pointed in front.

The Sherlock Holmes Memorial is right there, not at 221b, but between 237 and 241.

The two of them arrived too early, and the memorial hall had just opened. They bought tickets to enter, and the somewhat confused docent took them to visit the study room that appears most often in the novel. There are many materials in it, including Sherlock Holmes's violin,

The pipe, and the chemistry lab bench in the corner.

On the third floor are classic props and scene wax figures from Sherlock Holmes novels. As a fan girl, Fleur looked at these wax figures in surprise and smiled very happily.

"By the way," Fleur suddenly remembered, "Why isn't the museum open at No. 221?"

The staff spread their hands and said: "Abbey National Bank has been there for almost sixty years, and this museum was only opened the year before last."

"The bank has also set up a special position for Sherlock Holmes' secretary, who has been responsible for replying to letters from book fans for so many years."

"It's very romantic." Kano sighed, "I thought the shredder was their only place to go."

"But the owner of this museum seems to want to get the house number and the right to reply to letters. He has been having trouble with the bank recently." The staff member shook his head helplessly.

But this did not affect the mood of the two people's visit. After walking out of the gate, Kano bought a deerstalker hat from the souvenir shop nearby and put it on Fleur's head. Furong bought a black round hat and also put it on Kano's head.

.

"Female Sherlock Holmes and her boyfriend Watson?" Kano straightened his hat and pretended to be injured in the shoulder and unable to raise his hands.

"I think this setting will be popular." Fleur smiled and picked up a pipe candy.

The two of them laughed and returned the same way. At this moment, a postman walked briskly towards the Abbey National Bank.

He took out a stack of letters addressed to Holmes, stuffed them into a special mailbox next to him, turned around and left.

But he didn't notice that a letter slipped from his hand and fell to the ground.

Kano and Fleur stepped forward, picked up the letter, and prepared to put it back in the mailbox.

But Fleur's hand stopped, and she put the letter into Kano's hand with some hesitation.

"I don't know much English yet, but this note... is so messy."

Kano touched the envelope: "This kind of envelope is very expensive, and it is sealed with a fire seal. This person's financial situation should be good, and his cultural level should not be very low."

"Could it be that he was in a panic when he wrote the letter?"

"A real case?" Fleur frowned.

The two looked at each other in confusion, holding the letter and not knowing what to do for a while.

“Isn’t it bad to open other people’s letters privately?”

"But we are wizards. We can re-seal it after taking it apart, so that's probably no problem."

The two sneakily took away the letter and entered the coffee shop on the corner of the street.

Kano used his wand to slightly heat the wax seal, opened the envelope, and took out the letter inside.

"Dear Mr. Holmes:

I am a fan of your books and grew up reading your stories. Now I have encountered something horrific and incomprehensible, and the police can’t help me, so I can only turn to you for help.”

"I swear on my honor that everything I record is true."

Fleur raised her eyebrows: "A very classic beginning of Sherlock Holmes' letter asking for help."

Kano also nodded in agreement, and the two of them looked down.

"My parents died in accidents when I was a child, but they left me a rich legacy."

"Now I live alone in a small manor in Stirlingshire. There are only me and the old housekeeper in the manor, close to the forest. I work in the city during the day on weekdays and drive home at night."

"There has been a strange noise outside the manor recently, which sounds like a howling wolf. But wolves in the UK have been extinct for almost two hundred years, and the police can't tell what it is."

"Later a scientific expedition team came to us, but there was no news after they entered the forest."

"The police searched for them for ten days and finally found the skeletal remains of several people by the stream."

"They asked me if I had seen anything suspicious. In fact, on the day of the full moon, I saw a huge wolf standing on its legs and howling at the edge of the forest through the moonlight."

"But the police didn't believe it at all. They thought I was frightened and had gone insane."

"I also think I'm insane, I better be insane!"

"Now the old housekeeper and I don't dare to go out at night, but I don't want to leave my ancestral home and live in the city, so I can only keep my shotgun on guard at all times."

"I'm afraid that I will be like a descendant of the Baskerville family, facing a devil-like wolfdog and dying in a dark swamp for no apparent reason."

"Please help me, Mr. Holmes, or whoever it is."

"Louis Cromwell."

Kano twirled the letter paper with his hand, put it to his nose and smelled it.

"It also has a scent, and even the ink is high-end."

"Either he was really cornered, or he is a rich paranoid patient." Fleur concluded.

"Then shall we go and take a look?"

"Why don't you go?" Fleur asked enthusiastically, "Does Mr. Watson have other things?"

"Is there another Mary Morstan that I don't know about?"

"Don't make such a joke." Kano stretched out his hand and pinched Fleur's face "viciously".

"He said in the letter that the last abnormality occurred during the full moon, and maybe it was related to the werewolves in England." Fleur smiled and held Kano's hand.

"There are two days until the next full moon, let's go."
