The Urban Dao Child

Upon being told that he now needs to visit the ally sects of the pentagon, Yang Dao agreed. He did not have any hesitations, on the contrary, it was an opportunity for him to learn what he lacked.

His skills were ahead of everyone in his peer, but they were not complete. This feeling that he was missing something irked him sometimes, however, he was aware that it all can only be rectified when he accumulates experience.

It was said that traveling for a thousand miles was better than reading a thousand books. That was what Yang Dao intended to do. After eating, Sun Eckhart told him that they will be departing for the Immortal sword sect the next day.

Yang Dao decided to take this time to check on his friends and relax. For the past one month, he has been in seclusion, trying to get past the barrier of the nascent soul, his brain was filled with thoughts of what a soul was. Before he leaves the sect, he needed to reset his mind. After all, who knows what lies there in the starry sea, what will he do if he came across something unexpected and could not give the situation his all?

People did not die because they were weak, but because they did not put all their minds to use. Thinking about this he was about to walk out of the cloud palace when Alisha came over and asked, "Young Master, Madam Yue Yun, and Madam Yue have arrived in the sect with Yue Jing. They seem to be making their way here."

Yang Dao stopped and with a deep breath, he said, "Seems like you told everyone that I have not been communicating lately?"

Alisha gave him a wry smile and said, "I could not help myself. You have always come out of seclusion in just a week. So when you were staying inside for a longer time and that too without a break, I was afraid that something might have happened to you, so I told the elders."

Yang Dao nodded and said, "You did well. Also, Senior Sister Alisha, tell me if you have any news about the Olympus overlord."

Alisha sighed and said, "The family did not want Athena to go with the heavenly spirit beast, but when that senior told them about her rarity, they decided to apologize to you, but you have been in a state of seclusion. They might visit when it reaches their doorstep."

Yang Dao shook his head and said, "It seems that me being their son-in-law was of great value to them."

Alisha chuckled and said, "Young Master, are you fishing for compliments?"

"How dare you accuse me of being so shallow? I am a millennial genius, I do not need compliments, my life is a compliment. Hmph." said the Dao Child with his face raised to the sky.

This was when he heard a voice, "Rabbit, are you being narcissistic again?"

Yang Dao replied, "No, Grandma, I was just joking, wasn't I? Senior sister Alisha."

Alisha chuckled, as the child turned around to look at the three figures walking inside. This was the first time for the two elder ladies to have come to Yang Dao's residence, Yue Yun said, "This place is good. Show me your bedroom."

Yang Dao took her hand and led her to the meditation room. Jenny said, "Dao, your bedroom, not the meditation room child."

Alisha said, "Madam Yue, the young master stays in the meditation room only, and has never gone to his bedroom even once."

Yue Yun nodded and said, "Good. Money is a mundane thing."

Yang Dao nodded and said, "That is why I shall aim to get spirit stones."

Yue Jing smacked the back of his head and said, "Naughty."

The people toured the palace and Yang Dao explained the situation to them briefly. When Yue Jing heard that Athena got a chance to learn under a heavenly spirit beast, they were shocked. They were aware that these spirit beasts exist, but where they reside was unknown to anyone. They did not mind the young daughter-in-law getting such an opportunity, they were worried about Yang Dao and Yue Jing was concerned about Elder Jing.

The dao child also told them about his travel plans to sharpen his skills. The two ladies had no problem, they understood that the future of this eleven-year-old young man was not limited to the outer region of the immortal plane.

That said, Yue Jing left early to be with Elder Jing Shui, after all, a disciple is like a child, and to think that one day out of the blues this disciple will leave, was heart-piercing. However, Yang Dao told them repeatedly, not to do this. With nothing else to do, the boy gave up his intention and just followed along. After some time, Yang Dao returned back to his dwellings, he was done meeting his friends and elders, and now the time to leave for the trip was coming closer.

He spent the night under the pavilion with his eyes closed in meditation. He did not sleep, he did not need sleep. Early morning, after greeting his elders and sister. He left the cloud palace with Alisha in tow. The girl had stated, that she will be going along and will not stay back.

Yang Dao pouted his lips as he walked with heavy steps. Sun Eckhart was aware of what was going on so he did not say anything. The three of them boarded the flagship and moved. Yang Dao asked, "Master, can we not use the void cracking technique?

Sun Eckhart shook his head and said, "I will not be able to take Alisha. Don't act like you do not know this."

Yang Dao said, "Hmph, I do not need a babysitter. Master, please."

Sun Eckhart said, "Dao, this is not up for negotiations."

After clicking his tongue the boy went inside the meditation room. Alisha smiled at his antics. She was aware that he just wanted to annoy her and that was all. She went back to her own room and began to practice.

Yang Dao held the black sword in his hands and gently caressed the blade as he mumbled, "How are you doing, Yin."

Holding the sword in his hand, it was as if he was holding Dao Yin's hand. He did not know what to call this feeling, but it was overwhelming him completely. Sighing in retrospect, the young boy calmed his mind by saying that they will meet again in five years.

Yang Dao placed the sword in his lap and began to meditate. The journey to the immortal sword sect would not have taken anymore than a blink if Sun Eckhart was to take him alone, but since they were traveling in the spaceship, it will take them ten days.

Not willing to waste his time confronting wasteful thoughts, he closed his eyes to meditate. Ten days passed away in a blink, the boy woke up when Sun Eckhart came to call him. He said, "Look through the porthole and you will know the reason this place is called the immortal sword sect."

Yang Dao did as he was told. The sight in front of him shocked him to the core. The planet that was ruled by the immortal sword sect was called, Ravine, and today he realized why they called it such. The planet was split into two from the center. Even if they were thousands of miles away from the planet, he could sense the sword's intent coming from the place where the planet was split from.

He asked, "Master, what is this place?"

Sun Eckhart replied, "It was said that a true immortal traveled to this planet as he chased an ancestor level Daemon. During their battle, the immortal slashed with all his might resulting in the planet being split. The natives of the planet all cursed the person for destroying their home, so, using his life energy, the true immortal cast a bond that held the planet together, even if it was split."

Yang Dao asked, "What is a true immortal, Master?"

Sun Eckhart said, "Remember, I told you about the existence of realms above immortal soul? That realm is called True Immortal. The strength difference between an immortal soul and a true immortal is like that between a body formation and a true immortal realm. In a nutshell, the immortal soul realm is the starting point of the True Immortal path."

Yang Dao gulped a mouthful of saliva and then said, "I have to work harder."

Sun Eckhart heard his comment and chuckled. Alisha stood outside the door, she had also made sure that she will follow Yang Dao with all her might, she wanted to become stronger and better as well.

Soon the ship arrived at the spaceport of Ravine.
