The Urban Dao Child

Yang Dao and Dao Yin spent a month in the village, during this time, they also made a cottage of their own, using mud from the pond and tree bark from the forest. The villagers had all grown used to the two kids, helping them when they needed.

The two youngsters made sure not to disturb the balance of the things. While the older people did not act out of the ordinary. Sometimes, Yang Dao would join the old men to play a game of chess or catch fish from the pond.

Dao Yin learned the skills of a homemaker, she will cook with the ladies and even knit woolen clothes. What was even more, Dao Yin had realized the Dao of mortals and her understanding was even deeper than Yang Dao.

During the discussions the couple had at night, she told him of her realization and Yang Dao learned from her. Gradually became used to this life, but the time of their return had arrived.

After finishing the task to paint the village with the colors they extracted from the trees and flowers, the two people announced to the elders.

The village was silent that night, but in the morning the elders all came to see them and gifted them something from their possessions. Yang Dao and Dao Yin were gratified and emotional at this moment. They did not want to take away anything at first, however, upon the insistence and scolding of the old men and women, they accepted these gifts.

Finally, a day later the couple stood at the entrance of the village and bade farewell to the old men and women. Coming out of the village they could not help but turn back to look at it.

Dao Yin said, "We should come back here in the future."

Yang Dao nodded and they took out the jade artifact. The boat flew through the skies and came back to the place they had first appeared. After waiting for a few minutes, the space tunnel was opened again.

Back in the holy land, Zen stood watching the space tunnel opened by the elder. Soon, two figures, wearing linen garbs, came out of the portal. They saw Lady Zen and bowed slightly while Lady Zen did the same.

She was surprised, the temperament of the two children had gone a drastic change. Earlier they would stand out from millions. However, now it was like a cloak of mist around them. Until someone is paying special attention to them, they will seem like everyone else around them. What was even more, the resonance they had with nature had increased by a significant level.

Zen led the two youths directly to Laohu Bai. The white tiger raised her brows and smiled when the two people returned. She took the initiative to embrace them and asked, "How was the trip?"

The two people had complicated expressions in their eyes, but after a few seconds the haze cleared up, they smiled and replied in unison, "It was good."

Laohu Bai told them to sit and then asked, "What did you learn?"

Yang Dao spoke first, "Dao resides in everything."

Dao Yin picked up, "Everything is Dao."

The two started speaking one sentence after the other and the scene turned tranquil.

Feng Yun was looking through some records, after the City Of Zen and its residents came back, the palace had become lively and things had begun to catch up with the pace, suddenly, the palace trembled slightly.

The tremor was so minuscule that only the three familiars could sense it. They all put down the things at hand and came to a big gate. This gate led to the courtroom of the Heavenly Dao Palace.

Ryu Jinshi said, "I am anxious."

Atsuji Kurogame sighed and patted the former on his shoulder as Feng Yun pushed open the door. The magnificent courtroom in their vision was emitting a mundane charm. It was as if the decorations had become very much united with nature.

Feng Yun said, "It is returning, but still a long way to go."

Atsuji Kurogame nodded and said, "Xiao Bai did a good job sending the masters to the village of immortals."

The two people nodded. Ryu Jinshi said, "The immortals who became one with the Great Dao, must have been surprised, to see that the masters were visiting them. Not to teach, but to learn."

Feng Yun smiled, "The give and take is the cycle of Dao."

The three people discussed for a bit and then left to do their jobs.

After Yang Dao and Dao Yin were finished with the recital of their comprehension, the two ladies smiled. Laohu Bai said, "Now, that you have understood this deeper meaning, you go and take rest, tomorrow we will set off to face a Daemon army. You will have a lot of work to do."

The two were surprised and then nodded.

After they left, Zen asked, "Is it too soon to send them to the front?"

Laohu Bai shook her head and said, "It is not too early, or late. It is about them getting back from the lifestyle of the mortals. To learn how to swim, one must jump in the water. You cannot hesitate, fearing that you will drown. I will be their safety jacket."

Zen nodded and then she left as well. Her nature compelled her to look after things in the holy land.

The night passed away in a blink and Yang Dao took Dao Yin to meet Laohu Bai. The two were dressed in their white and black hanfu. Laohu Bai smiled at them and said, "Ready?"

Yang Dao was about to say something when Dao Yin said, "Yes."

The boy could only nod in silence. Last night he pulled a strand of her hair and the girl had been giving him a silent cold shoulder. She would not stop him from holding her hand or something but she will ignore his requests and pleas.

Laohu Bai snickered internally at this. The two seemed to be having their first fight. The lady shook her head and brought them to the hall where teleportation arrays were located. The elder on duty bowed to her and greeted, "Cheif."

Laohu Bai said, "The radiance."

The radiance was the location they were headed to. The elder nodded and began to prepare the teleportation portal. Laohu Bai said, "The radiance is a planet that has been invaded by the daemons. The lord of the domain died fighting, his family has dwindled struggling against the creatures as well. However, they have given shelter to all the general populace of the planet in their domain."

Yang Dao nodded and said, "Commendable."

Dao Yin nodded and Laohu Bai said, "They managed to contact us for help. Now, you two will head over with me and take out every last Daemon there. The number of enemies is unknown, however, I hope you can do it."

The two were surprised but before they could ask anything, the portal was ready. Laohu Bai pushed the two children inside the portals and followed after them.

The two people appeared above a mansion, the garden, and the rest of the places even the roof of the mansion was filled with humans. Laohu Bai gracefully descended to the ground in front of a young girl and spoke a few words.

Yang Dao and Dao Yin also landed behind her and heard her say, "They will face the Daemons, can you tell us where the most powerful attack is being blocked at the moment?"

The young girl was the direct descendant of the lord of this place. She recognized Laohu Bai after she saw the emblem tied to her waist. The girl said, "The east."

Yang Dao said, "Big Sister Bai, can you at least do something to raise the spirits of these people?"

Laohu Bai smiled and asked, "Like what?"

Yang Dao said, "Maybe play some song, we will be able to hear it. If it is fast it will lift our spirits as well."

Dao Yin nodded and said, "Good idea."

Laohu Bai chuckled and said, "Very well, I shall play for you all. Go now, get those abominations."

Yang Dao and Dao Yin smiled and then vanished from their places. The young girl asked, "Senior, can they really handle it?"

Laohu Bai took out a crystal cube from her space ring and after chanting a few words, the crystal began to project the two figures flying in the void. Laohu Bai said, "You will know soon." then she took out a guqin from her space ring and sat down near the cube.

Yang Dao took out his spear and sword, and Dao Yin also did the same. The two people nodded at each other and as soon as a twang rang out in the surroundings, they shot.

They moved as if a mirror image. The efficiency was frightening. Blood from the daemons began to color the floor, shattered corpses were flying all over the place. The battle has begun.
