The Urban Dao Child

Yang Dao and Dao Yin were finished with their expedition and decided to go back to the holy land. Dao Yin took out the talisman and tore it apart, a portal appeared and took them to the holy land directly.

The people in the array hall were surprised when they saw a little doll with the two people. The elders were about to question when Zen stepped out of the portal and she said, "I take responsibility. Go back to your things."

Her words made the people stagnate and then they all went back to their work. Yang Dao and Dao Yin walked straight to find Laohu Bai and the little girl followed them. She was a bit overwhelmed and scared when the two people bought her here. However, she made up her mind, because these two people have given her happiness that she could not have imagined in her whole life.

It may sound too simple but that is how the mind of a child works. They simply think about the moment they live in, not like the youth that ponders over the future nor like the old who yearn for the past.

Zen patted her head and said, "Do not worry, we are here with you. Okay?"

Dao Jiewei smiled at her and said, "I know Aunt."

In the past year, the relationship between the two has become quite close. Soon they arrived near the pavilion and Yang Dao and Dao Yin spotted Laohu Bai sitting with her eyes closed, immersed in deep meditation.

The two of them did not rush, but sat down in front of her and began to meditate. Zen shook her head and smiled at this scene. To think that the masters were worried about disturbing the subordinates, what was, even more, Dao Jiewei also sat down and began to meditate. Zen took out a canvas and then she began to paint what she saw.

After a day only did she finish the painting of a White Tiger and a human child sitting with each other while the symbol of the Dao was in the background. This was her own interpretation of the scene.

As soon as she finished the painting, Laohu Bao asked, "Zen, how have you all been?"

Zen smiled and replied, "Very good, elder sister."

Yang Dao and Dao Yin also woke up, they said, "Big Sister Bai."

Laohu Bai smiled and said, "Welcome back, how was the trip. Did you two gain anything?"

The couple nodded and Laohu Bai asked, "Who is this child?"

She was aware of who the child was, she could see everything the two did outside the place, however, the pretense was a necessity to survive.

Dao Yin explained everything about the girl to Laohu Bai, who smiled at Dao Jiewei. She said, "My dear, you can open your eyes, I do not eat children."

Dao Jiewei opened her eyes and quickly hid behind Yang Dao's back. The young man smiled and said, "Wei, what did I tell you about how to meet the elders?"

Jiewei said, "To bow and tell my name."

"Then why not do it? What if the aunty said, that we did not teach you well?", asked Yang Dao.

Dao Jiewei stood up straight, walked in front of Laohu Bai, and bowed, as she said, "I apologize, senior, please do not blame them. My name is Dao Jeiwie."

Laohu Bai nodded and asked, "What is your connection to the two of them?"

Yang Dao and Dao Yin hesitated, they had no idea what they should call this young girl. They had a good relationship but they had not yet put down a tag on it. If they were stumped then let alone the little girl.

Laohu Bai smiled and said, "Since you two have taken her in and raised her together, named her together, then is she less than your daughter? Yes, you are just eighteen but many people have children at this age and you two just have a bigger girl, who is sensible and sweet. Why not accept it?"

Yang Dao and Dao Yin looked at each other and after Laohu Bai has said what they were holding back in their minds, how could they deny it? Dao Yin said, "Big sister Bai, it is not us, but the child who should accept us."

Laohu Bai smiled and said, "What do I do with the two of you? Can you not ask her about it?"

Yang Dao and Dao Yin were surprised. Laohu Bai smiled and said, "Let me ask her."

She turned her head to Dao Jiewei, who was confused after listening to the two of them. She asked, "Wei, do you want to call the two of them your father and mother?"

Dao Jeiwei was surprised but she quickly nodded. Laohu Bai beckoned her and said, "Then come here, Aunty will teach you how to respect them."

Dao Jiewei walked over to her at a brisk pace and knelt on the ground facing Yang Dao and Dao Yin, and as the lady said, she placed her hands in front of her knees and knocked her head on the ground nine times. Laohu Bai had told her to do it gently, and then the little doll said, "Daughter Dao Jiewei greets father and mother."

Yang Dao was smiling but his eyes were watery, Dao Yin was much more calmer than he was. She slapped his shoulder gently and said, "Have some dignity, do not cry like a girl."

Yang Dao said, "You are a girl but you do not cry. Does that mean you are not a girl?"

Dao Yin glared at him and the young man became honest. Yang Dao beckoned the little girl over. Jeiwei walked over, thinking that since the two did not reply to her, she must have made a mistake. As soon as she came close to Yang Dao the young man took her in her embrace.

He said in her ear gently, "Do not call me father, just say baba."

Dao Jeiwei smiled and her small arms tightened their hold around Yang Dao as she hummed. Dao Yin said, "Hey, do not hog my baby for yourself, Yang."

She has become quite outspoken and cheerful after the time they spend outside. Yang Dao opened his arms and said, "You can hug us too."

Jeiwei said, "Mama come."

Dao Yin shoved everything aside at this moment and then she hugged the two. Laohu Bai smiled and clapped a bit, and Zen was busy painting the scene on the canvas. After the ceremony was complete, Laohu Bai said, "You two have an invitation to visit the inner immortal plane."

Yang Dao nodded and asked, "For how long?"

Laohu Bai said, "Until the problem is solved."

The two were shocked but they nodded. Laohu Bai said, "You can leave the little one here, I will look after her."

Yang Dao shook his head and said, "I want to take her back to the Yang Family. She will be happy to meet my parents, and when she grows up, Yin can take her to see the demon lord. She has a family and she must know about them and vice versa."

Laohu Bai nodded and then said, "You have a day to go and come back."

Yang Dao nodded and holding the little girl in his embrace, he asked, "Wei, do you want to go and meet your grandparents?"

The little girl hmmed while hugging the young man. She did not want to be away from him or Dao Yin. Dao Yin said, "Come, let me carry you for a few minutes."

Just like that the carrier changed. This happened thrice on the way to the teleportation hall. Finally, they settled on holding her hands at the same time, since there were two hands they can both hold.

Yang Dao came to the elder and said, "Elder, the yang domain please."

The old man nodded and after giving the talisman he opened the space portal. Yang Dao and Dao Yin jumped in and vanished.

Yang Dao appeared in the sky above the Yang mansion with Dao Yin and was surprised, he found that the mansion was bustling with activity. He flew down to the location where his mother's room was located. He found the door to be closed and only the males were standing outside with solemn faces.

He asked, "Yo, old boys, what happen? Did the mothers finally rebel against you all?"

His question and voice startled all of them, and men chuckled and laughed, "Dao, you came on a good-time boy. You are about to be a brother. Your mom is inside, bringing your sibling."

Yang Dao was shocked and then he looked at Dao Yin, who was bowing to everyone, and kissed her in excitement. He said, "Yin, I will have a sibling. Hahahaha..."

The people were all smiles when they found three treasured children to be so happy, suddenly they heard a small voice, "Mama, why is baba so happy?"

They were shocked and Yang Shan, who was anxious forgot everything and yelled, "I am a grandfather."

The men shouted, "Shut up, not only you, but we all are."
