Yun Family.

Main hall.

"Did you call me, Father?" Yun Mengxin asked with a serious and somewhat cold attitude.

Yun Mengxin was in the main hall of the Yun residence. She had been called when the elders and counselors had gathered in the hall. She arrived and addressed herself in front of her father, showing a formal greeting to the elders who were there, and then asking her father about what he had called her.

Yun Dong, the current patriarch of the Yun family and father of Yun Mengxin, was sitting in the main chair.

Yun Dong observed his daughter's attitude and sighed to himself. He knew that she was cold and distant from others, because of all the problems they have gone through.

"Daughter, how have you been? How is your progress in martial arts? Sorry if I don't spend much time with you, but we've had some difficulty at present..." Yun Dong tried to start the conversation quietly. He didn't want his daughter to be upset.

"I've been good, father, better than ever. My martial power is also improving..." Yun Mengxin responded calmly, as if it were normal for her. Neither her father nor the Yun family knew about her illness, so she always said that she was still well despite everything.

"I understand." Yun Don nodded, watching his daughter's indifferent reaction.

"Is there any business that requires me?" Yun Mengxin asked again why they had called her.

"Niece Mengxin, in fact, we called you to discuss a matter."

A voice sounded before the patriarch Yun Dong spoke, it was one of the elders, Yun Yin.

Yun Mengxin turned to look at Yun Yin, her face still as cold as ever. Yun Yin did not care and continued.

"Niece Mengxin, we have called you to discuss the marriage with the young master of the Ming family." Yun Yin spoke his purpose of the call.

Yun Mengxin did not respond, her gaze still cold as ice.

"Haih, niece, this is for the good of the Yun family, we would get more resources and money if you marry the young master of the Ming family. Ming Zeng is the best young man there is..."

"I won't marry him!"

Yun Yin did not finish speaking when he was interrupted by Yun Mengxin, coldly and resolutely stating that she would not marry Ming Zeng.

"Insolent!" Yun Yin became angry and scolded Yun Mengxin.

"How dare you interrupt your elders?!" another old man spoke up, supporting Yun Yin.

Yun Mengxin turned to see the old man next to Yun Yin, Yun Zao.

"This is the best thing for the Yun family and also for you. By having connections with the Ming family, our Yun family could improve and produce many more martial artists, even you would receive more resources from both families and advance faster in your power." Yun Zao talked seriously, trying to bring out the advantages of marriage.

"I won't marry that bastard! He only wants to marry me to play with my body, he doesn't even love me!" Yun Mengxin didn't back down by answering firmly.

She'd rather kill herself than marry that bastard Ming Zeng. He was just an animal incapable of controlling his evil desires, following her incessantly, bothering her day after day.

"Daughter, have you considered about this? will you really not marry Ming Zeng?" Yun Dong asked, wanting to get her confirmation on the matter.

"I won't marry him!" Yun Mengxin replied once again, ignoring the resentful looks of Yun Yin and Yun Zao.

Yun Dong sighed inwardly at his daughter's decision. He did not want to force her to marry Ming Zeng either, making her unhappy in the future, just to improve the power of the Yun family.

"It's okay, don't worry daughter. I'll take care of this matter and try to refuse marriage to the Ming family completely."

"But patriarch!"

"All right! I'll take the consequences of this." Yun Dong interrupted Yun Yin, saying that he would assume the problems that would occur.

Yun Yin no longer spoke, listening to the patriarch.

'Do not think that you will not be able to escape from your destiny. The young master of the Ming family already has a plan to force you, it is only a matter of time...' Yun Yin thought when he could not convince this pair of father and daughter. He was in collusion with the Ming family, so he always informed the Ming family about the Yun family's affairs.

His daughter hardly ever went out, so he wanted her to go out and interact with others, therefore he didn't deny her an outing.

Yun Dong told her to be careful in what she did and that if she found a problem, she should let him know as soon as possible, that he would help her.

Yun Yin frowned, while making sure that he would notify the young master of the Ming family about this later.

Yun Mengxin said goodbye to her father and left the main hall.

In Yun Mengxin's bedroom.

She sat on her bed, taking a ruby and playing with it in her hands.

Yun Mengxin had understood her feelings for Ling Tian, so she decided to give this to him.

Looking at the porcelain jars that contained the medicinal liquid that eliminated the cold in her body on the side of the bedside table, her lips rose slightly.

Yun Mengxin had somehow confirmed an assumption she had made before.

Yun Mengxin prepared a suitcase with some changes of clothes and garments, as well as other personal items, because it would likely take a long time to learn what Ling Tian would teach her, so she prepared to be away from home for two or three days.

Knowing that she would be spending time with Ling Tian, her cheeks blushed slightly.
