The weird game of the ancient gods
Summary of mistakes in this volume
I made several mistakes while writing this volume, which led to a sharp drop in subscriptions. The average number dropped by about 100, and the 24-hour subscription number even dropped from 1,700 to 1,000. Many readers responded insipidly in the book club, which made me very sad. It's regret.
If possible, I really want to scrap and rewrite this volume, but unfortunately since it is an online novel, this kind of thing is almost impossible.
Therefore, we can only sum up experience and lessons and strive to never make such mistakes again in the future.
The first mistake is the choice of game.
The topic of 100,000 ancient soldiers versus 500 modern soldiers has been seen frequently on the Internet before, so I have some thoughts on it. To be honest, I am not sure which side will win, so I want to write a copy like this and deduce it. It should be interesting to see which side wins.
It was quite simple when I thought about it, but when I wrote it, I found that there were too many things to worry about, and there were too many details and elements, which made it very difficult to write.
And it’s really difficult to control big scenes.
The second mistake is perspective.
In general, the perspective of online novels will always be on the protagonist, so that readers can watch the protagonist continue to take risks, which can create a sense of suspense and anticipation. However, since this script is a battle mode, I kept switching perspectives on both sides when writing to introduce the tactics of both sides. , causing the reader to become a God's perspective, all suspense disappears, and the story becomes a running account.
The third mistake is the focus of the novel.
Normally, the focus of a novel should be the protagonist.
However, due to the setting of this dungeon, a lot of text was wasted on supporting characters and even NPCs. As a result, the protagonist had no sense of existence for a period of time, and readers probably lost their sense of involvement. This should be one of the important reasons for the decline in subscriptions. This is handled very well in the volume of The Starving Game, where the perspective is always on the protagonist.
In fact, the way to make up for it is very simple. Just remove the NPCs from both camps and replace them with the protagonists to command the expeditionary force. Unfortunately, it was too late to wake up.
In the end, although two commanders were killed, the protagonist came on stage and restored a little bit of reputation.
But overall, this volume is still unsatisfactory.
In the future, I will try to keep the perspective on the protagonist to avoid making similar mistakes again.
Well, that’s probably all. I’ll choose a more interesting game in the next volume. I hope readers will subscribe more to increase the number of subscriptions.
