The Wind and the Eagle Wings at Hogwarts
Chapter 360 360. Prophecy and three professors
Scott kept thinking in his mind. When he walked to the door of the auditorium, he remembered that he had to go to the Transfiguration Club in the evening.
Taking out his pocket watch and checking the time, he found that it was too late for dinner.
So he simply turned around and went directly to the second floor of the main building of the castle, and walked into the classroom before the club activities started.
Afterwards, he spent an hour absentmindedly.
Perhaps because of his unusual behavior, Professor McGonagall stopped him after the club activities.
"Mr. Trollope." Professor McGonagall looked at him with a stern voice, "I noticed that you were a little distracted during the process just now."
"Sorry, Professor McGonagall." Scott replied reflexively.
"I don't want to hear you say sorry, Mr. Trollope. I know you fairly well, and I don't think you are the kind of student who would be lazy in his studies." Professor McGonagall said again.
Her tone became gentler, "I want to say that if you encounter something that will affect your study, the best choice for you should be to seek help from your professor in time."
Scott raised his head and saw the concern in Professor McGonagall's eyes.
He thought about it and decided to tell the prophecy and seek help from the professors.
The content of that prophecy sounded very complicated, and the things involved were obviously beyond his current ability. He didn't think it would be a good idea to face it alone.
Thinking of this, he spoke directly, "Something happened. After the afternoon class, I met Professor Trelawney in the back garden of the castle..."
As soon as Professor McGonagall heard the name Trelawny, the expression on her face immediately changed subtly.
Her eyebrows were slightly raised, her brows were slightly furrowed, her already tightly pursed lips were pursed even tighter, and the nasolabial folds at the corners of her mouth had become much darker.
Taking a deep breath, she couldn't wait to interrupt Scott's words.
"Did she say some scary things to you? For example, a prophecy about when you would die?"
Her voice was obviously sarcastic, and she stared at Scott closely while speaking, with some incomprehensible meaning.
"Many people know that Professor Trelawney predicts the death of students every year, but her predictions have never come true!"
After saying a few words, she couldn't help but take a deep breath before continuing.
"I can't understand it." She still stared at Scott, "You don't seem like the kind of person who would believe her nonsense."
Professor McGonagall's series of reactions were really interesting. Even though Scott felt a little heavy at the moment, he couldn't help but smile.
"I know, Professor." He said to Professor McGonagall seriously, "I know that most of Professor Trelawney's predictions are... well, performances."
At this point, he lowered his voice, "But I also know that she once had a real prophecy...the one about Harry and the mysterious man."
As soon as he finished speaking, Professor McGonagall's expression immediately changed.
She couldn't help but raise her hand to push the square-framed glasses on the bridge of her nose, her pursed lips trembled, and the nasolabial folds at the corners of her lips became a little stiff.
After a while, she began to speak again.
"I don't know where you got that news."
At this time, her voice became a little unstable.
"But I can tell you for sure that Professor Trelawney has never been able to perform at the level expected of a Divination professor since that day."
At this point, she seemed to become calmer.
"Speaking of which, I still don't know what the prophecy she said that night was."
She said with some dissatisfaction.
"All I know is that Dumbledore was willing to give her a professorship for that prophecy."
Scott could tell that Professor McGonagall had some disdain for Professor Trelawney, including the course of divination itself.
It seemed that in order for her to take this matter seriously, she had to see the scene with her own eyes.
"I know everything you said." He said calmly, "But at that time... I don't know how to describe it. In short, you will know the scene at that time with your own eyes."
As he spoke, he took out the panoramic telescope from the deformed lizard skin bag, and then took out his own [magic mirror].
Professor McGonagall originally wanted to say something else, but after seeing Scott's actions, she changed her tune and said, "Is this the thing you invented that can preserve images and sounds?"
It seemed that she was aware of the hot news in Hogwarts Castle in recent days.
Scott nodded, pulled out his wand, and expertly extracted the images and sounds from the panoramic telescope and eagle-shaped brooch, and directed them into the [Magic Mirror].
Next, he quickly slid his fingers on the surface of the [Magic Mirror], combining "video" and "audio" as quickly as possible.
After doing this, he turned the [Magic Mirror] around, placed it on the podium in front of Professor McGonagall, and tapped the mirror again with his finger.
The originally static picture on the mirror began to move, and at the same time, a clear sound came out.
"Ho, ho ho..."
Seeing Professor Trelawney's convulsive behavior in the mirror, Professor McGonagall frowned tightly and her expression became solemn.
"The scroll of history is opened...the resurrected witch...the sleeping great man...he wants to devour...but is defeated by the non-existent person!"
The sound from the [magic mirror] reproduced Professor Trelawney's voice, which was as unpleasant as the howling of hundreds of female ghosts. Scott couldn't help but raise his hands and rub his ears, which were aching slightly.
It wasn't until Professor Trelawney returned to normal and continued her exaggerated performance that the images played in the mirror stopped again, and Professor McGonagall looked up at Scott.
She said hesitantly: "Mr. Trollope, this prophecy, well, it may be a true prophecy, but it doesn't sound like it has anything to do with you?"
"I think I am the person she said that does not exist." Scott said softly, "When I heard this prophecy, my intuition kept telling me so."
He knew that his explanation sounded a bit lame, but he couldn't come up with other more reasonable explanations.
Did he want to tell everyone that he came from a world that was just a novel in his original world?
This sounded more like nonsense than his current explanation.
Fortunately, this is the magic world. For wizards who are born with magic, the power of the mind is undoubtedly powerful, and no one thinks that there is anything wrong with a wizard believing in his intuitive warning.
Just like now, after hearing what he said, Professor McGonagall's eyes showed worry.
"This matter must be notified to Professor Dumbledore." Her face showed apology again, "I'm sorry, I have no experience in dealing with the so-called prophecy."
Scott could see that Professor McGonagall was trying to be calm and she was trying her best to hide her worries.
She probably didn't expect that this matter was actually true and beyond her ability.
But Scott was not disappointed. He was mentally prepared for this. He could feel Professor McGonagall's sincere concern for him.
After Scott nodded, Professor McGonagall quickly took out her wand.
She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, as if to calm herself down.
"Expecto Patronus!"
Silver smoke gushed out of her wand, forming a silver tabby cat that looked between reality and illusion.
The cat jumped flexibly in the air and quickly left the classroom.
While waiting for Dumbledore to arrive, Professor McGonagall watched the process of Trelawney's prophecy again, trying to interpret the prophecy with her knowledge.
But her interpretation was not much better than Scott's.
Because she had not heard the prophecy about the Thestrals that Trelawney said in front of Luna last semester, Professor McGonagall could only guess that the [Resurrected Witch] should be Medea Slytherin, but she was not very sure.
So Scott told her the content of the prophecy.
While the two were talking, Dumbledore hurriedly pushed open the classroom door and walked in, followed by Professor Flitwick.
"Oh... Scott." Professor Flitwick was a little out of breath, but he still spoke first, "I heard..."
"Filius, Albus, you take a look at this first." Professor McGonagall handed the [Magic Mirror] in her hand to Professor Flitwick very straightforwardly.
"Oh... I remember..."
Professor Flitwick had played Scott's [Magic Mirror], so he quickly clicked on the "Video".
Dumbledore only needed to lower his head to watch it with him very conveniently.
"Ah... history... witch... sleeping... devouring... failure..."
When Trelawney's overly terrifying voice sounded, Professor Flitwick, who had pointed ears, exclaimed and almost lost his grip on the [magic mirror].
Scott's ears were once again hurt by tons of damage.
Scott simply covered his ears, but Professor Flitwick endured the torture and watched the "video".
When Dumbledore and Professor Flitwick finished watching, Professor McGonagall told them the "intuition" Scott had just mentioned without Scott speaking.
Dumbledore just glanced at Scott after listening and did not raise any objections.
Scott understood that Dumbledore would not believe his explanation as easily as Professor McGonagall, but on the other hand, the old headmaster was very tolerant of students in many ways.
He would believe that Scott corresponded to the identity of the "non-existent person" in the prophecy, and would not delve too deeply into why Scott was so sure.
For Scott, this was enough.
As for Professor Flitwick... the look in his eyes when he looked at Scott was exactly the same as Professor McGonagall's at the moment, and because of his sensitive emotions, the worry he showed was even more obvious.
He looked at Scott worriedly for a long time before looking up and asking Dumbledore, "Albus, how do you think this prophecy should be interpreted?"
Dumbledore's expression was a little solemn at this time, and even more embarrassed.
"I'm sorry, Filius." He whispered, "I can't fully interpret it either."
Professor Flitwick said anxiously: "What should we do? Should we start with Ms. Slytherin mentioned in the prophecy?"
"The resurrected witch rolled up the storm." Professor McGonagall repeated a sentence in the prophecy, and then continued, "If we can restrict Ms. Slytherin's actions and make the so-called storm disappear, the prophecy will not be established."
Professor Flitwick's eyes lit up when he heard this, "This does sound like a feasible solution, Minerva!"
At this time, Dumbledore sighed, "No, the storm has been rolled up and cannot be stopped easily."
"Albus?"
Professor Flitwick and Professor McGonagall looked at him at the same time.
Dumbledore briefly explained the chaotic situation in the wizarding world.
Flitwick and McGonagall, two professors who were devoted to teaching and educating people, were very surprised after hearing this, and their mouths opened wide at the same time.
If Scott just felt like he had missed several episodes of the plot, they probably felt like they had missed a whole season.
"Why is this happening?" Professor Flitwick said distressedly.
Dumbledore was not as anxious as Flitwick and McGonagall. He cast his eyes on Scott who was standing quietly beside him.
"Scott." He said kindly, "Do you have any thoughts about the prophecy?"
Scott was about to comfort Professor Flitwick and tell him not to worry about himself, when he heard Dumbledore's question.
Facing the old headmaster's question, Scott couldn't help but say the first thought that popped into his mind.
"I did have an idea, Professor Dumbledore." He replied.
Facing the gaze of the three professors, he whispered: "If I completely forget the content of this prophecy, can I avoid actively choosing the fate revealed by the prophecy because of pursuing the prophecy?"
Hearing his thoughts, Professor Flitwick and Professor McGonagall both pondered.
But Dumbledore said something that Scott could not refute in an instant, "How do you know that choosing to forget this option at this moment is not the way to the prophecy?"
Scott opened his mouth, a little crying.
He murmured: "If so, as long as the prophecy happens, it means that it is chosen by fate and cannot be changed?"
Dumbledore shook his head again.
"Sorry, child." He said slowly, "I can't teach you the correct answer to this question. Even if I have lived for more than a hundred years, I have never seen my fate clearly."
The classroom fell into a brief silence.
None of the three professors came to comfort Scott with words like "the final result of the prophecy is good."
Everyone present was smart, and they all knew clearly that although the prophecy said that [the great man] would be defeated by [the man who does not exist], it did not mean that [the man who does not exist] would definitely have a good result.
[The man who does not exist] sounds like a victory, but a complete victory is a victory, a tragic victory is also a victory, and even dying one second later than the enemy is a victory...
No one can assert what the final result will be.
The silence in the classroom lasted for a while, Professor McGonagall remained standing, and Professor Flitwick had begun to pace back and forth.
They were still thinking, and Dumbledore spoke again.
He said to Scott: "So, do you want to listen to the advice of an old man like me?"
As he spoke, he had a kind smile on his face.
This smile was gentle, kind and tolerant; but it was full of power, as if he was fearless of everything.
Scott was also somewhat infected and couldn't help but smile.
He nodded at Dumbledore, "Of course, Professor."
