The Witcher: Elemental Lords

#1049 - A Trial of Fate

The rainforest's area was vast, unbelievably immense.

Moreover, the rain was particularly abundant. Looking out, the boundless sky was filled with various massive, block-like clouds, a dense, dark expanse. Wherever there were thick clouds, there was either thunder and wind, or rain. The entire land seemed to be soaking in the rain.

The rainforest was also teeming with various lifeforms: magical beasts, humans, humanoids, and others. If one didn't fly high enough, they might be discovered by some creature.

There were many human settlements here, but they were all small, not on any real scale. Furthermore, humans held virtually no advantage, existing in the cracks of survival.

After scanning the area, Dole discovered that the rainforest's creatures were incredibly complex, but their strength was generally low.

The strongest were only around level eight, and there were only two of them. Few even reached level seven. Considering their speed, it was rare to find such a large area with such weak inhabitants.

The group continued flying for about two hours when they spotted a small city built on a hillside in the distance. Qian Yue suddenly stopped.

He turned to look at Dole and said, "Dole, hide in the surroundings. The realm of Daheitian is ahead. We will negotiate with the people of the Guangming Empire and others. Don't get too close."

Dole, who had been happily manipulating the three people's threads of fate, subtly retracted his little tricks upon hearing this.

His figure emerged from the firelight, standing quietly in the void.

He had already sensed the three people's attitude towards him and didn't bother to pay them any attention. He glanced at Qian Yue, nodded slightly, and then, with a surge of magical patterns around him, transformed into a white light and instantly disappeared.

Qian Yue glanced at Dole's disappearing form, shaking his head slightly. It seemed Dole was already displeased with those three.

Kangpus and the others would suffer for underestimating Dole. They were likely making a mistake based on past experience. These rules Dole possessed were just trifles. What he truly mastered and was most skilled at was lightning. When he truly reached level nine and comprehended more than three rules, that would be truly terrifying.

Seeing Dole disappear, Qian Yue turned to the three and said in a deep voice, "Let's gather first, then discuss how to deal with Daheitian. Daheitian has only been operating for three months, so the strength of his avatar shouldn't be too great."

Kangpus and Gladis had already emerged from the wizard tower.

Kangpus stepped forward and said solicitously, "It's just an avatar of an evil god. It's not like we haven't seen one before. Although Daheitian is fully descending for the first time, based on the power wielded by his followers, he should be inclined towards curses. His strength won't be too great, so dealing with him shouldn't be too difficult."

Jiebu nodded.

Gladis was participating in this kind of activity for the first time and didn't know what to expect. She could only follow the three.

Qian Yue nodded, "Even so, we can't underestimate him. If the power carried by his avatar exceeds the limit of this world, it might be difficult to deal with. But with the Guangming Holy See present, there shouldn't be any major problems."

"This world is a small world, and the strength of power it can accommodate is limited. The power of the God of Guangming, the God of Darkness, and others is just so-so."

Jiebu said at this time.

"We can't underestimate them. The power of gods possesses incredible abilities, even resurrection. We can't underestimate any god, even if they only master the most basic laws. Laws are the foundation of the world, the basis of everything, and are definitely stronger than rules."

Qian Yue frowned and glanced at Jiebu.

Jiebu dared not speak anymore.

Seeing this, Qian Yue then said, "Let's go, the direction is over there. This is not yet Daheitian's territory."

He glanced at the surrounding world, the thick clouds in the sky, and the clear blue sky in the areas without clouds, then transformed into a ray of light and flew to the left.

At this time, Kangpus put away the wizard tower and followed with the others.

This wasn't Dole's first time in the Southwest Rainforest. He had even left a small clone here, and the Huowutong organization's Southeast Volcano was on the edge of the rainforest. After only staying here for a dozen minutes, Dole felt that the land here was excessively fertile, and the biodiversity had developed to an extreme degree. It felt even more complex than the Nightmare Forest.

After separating from the four, Dole received the coordinates of Daheitian from Qian Yue. He decided to sneak over first to assess the situation and see how Daheitian's followers had developed.

Gods need faith, and faith can be converted into the power that gods need through the godhead. This was knowledge he had only recently obtained.

For gods, the godhead is very important. Without a godhead, they would just be ninth-level wizards at the perfect level, at most comprehending a few more rules. But as long as they have a godhead, they will transform into gods and possess incredible abilities.

The godhead, in a sense, is the embodiment of laws, the concrete manifestation of the world's laws. A godhead with certain laws can manipulate those laws through the godhead, and with 100% lossless control.

But where does the godhead come from? Is it naturally condensed? Or is it found within the world? These things are unknown.

Dole had very little information on this. Baal was still unconscious, that pitfall. If he wasn't still breathing and his strength was slowly increasing, Dole would have thought he had died in his sleep.

In short, everything was due to information asymmetry.

The place controlled by Daheitian was more than a thousand kilometers away. Dole prepared to go take a look first, and also test the application of the fate magic patterns again. He felt that if this thing was used well, it would definitely be a powerful weapon, especially if he could one day develop the ability to sever other people's fate, that would be too terrifying.

He was now wondering who his parents were, that they could master something like the rules of fate. Was his existence an experiment?

But whether it was or not, his current abilities were enough to protect himself.

Manipulating fate, hehe.

Dole's figure disappeared from the spot. He didn't use the power of rules, but the power of ordinary flight, and soon disappeared into the jungle.

Using rule-level power would, to some extent, affect the surrounding rules, making it easy to be discovered by others, or by gods.

Before long, he appeared on a small hilltop.

He didn't appear directly on the hilltop, but hid. On the hilltop, there was a level five tiger, opening its bloody mouth and tearing apart an adult giant deer.

The tiger's strength was great, and it could tear the deer's body with one bite, tearing off the meat and chewing it in its mouth, quickly swallowing it. Fresh blood slowly flowed from the corner of its mouth, emitting a foul, bloody smell.

Dole looked at the tiger and slowly switched his perspective. A thin line of fate appeared above the tiger's head.

A magic pattern array flew out and landed on the tiger's body, and its line of fate quickly became thinner.

At this time, the tiger seemed to have sensed something, as if it was facing a catastrophe, and became terrified, looking around.

Dole frowned when he saw this.

He had only thinned the other party's fate, and it could cause this effect. Could the tiger itself sense the danger?

Could Kangpus and the others also sense it?

Changing fate may not have an immediate effect and requires a little patience to wait, but Dole quickly discovered that the tiger was panicking and soon abandoned the food under its feet and fled into the distance.
