Chapter 117 Is the Ministry of Magic Reliable?

The current Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge, is in a very complicated mood right now.

The criminal who invaded Gringotts was found, which should have been something worth celebrating.

However, it was the current headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore, who told him that the prisoner had been caught.

"Minister, we're here-"

A high-pitched voice like a little girl reminded him.

"Dolores, how do I look?"

The short, fat lady dressed in pink has an extremely serious look in her eyes.

"Minister, you look great!"

Fudge cheered up and looked at the other tall man beside him.

"Kingsley, control the prisoner immediately after entering."

"Yes, Minister." The tall man had dark skin and a deep and slow voice.

The three of them walked up the last set of steps and stood in front of the gate of Hogwarts Castle.

Mag immediately greeted us, "Good evening, you three."

The pudgy lady seemed a little dissatisfied.

She looked back and forth towards the auditorium and saw only a few professors repairing the damage.

"Professor Dumbledore must have something very important, right?"

The high-pitched voice made Mag purse his lips on the spot, "He was comforting the children who were trying to stop Quirinas."

"That shouldn't be—"

"It should be so." Fudge thought it was very reasonable.

As a principal, you should focus entirely on your students.

The short and fat lady put away the slight dissatisfaction on her face.

"This way, please." Mag led the three of them up the marble steps.

It was past ten o'clock in the evening, and the whole castle was quiet.

Harry Ron on the fourth floor had been caught by Filch a long time ago.

If Snape hadn't been in a good mood, the two of them would have been cleaning a certain corridor.

Just after passing the gargoyle, a few laughs came from the principal's office on the spiral staircase.

Fudge frowned, and the pudgy lady glared at McGonagall angrily.

"Quirinas is over there." She nodded slightly towards the tall man named Kingsley.

"Minister, I'll go over and control him first."

"Go ahead."

The pudgy lady originally wanted to say something, but after seeing Quirrell's miserable condition, she seemed to swallow her words back.

Under Mag's guidance, both of them walked towards the spiral staircase.

"Professor, your taste is as different as ever."

"I think it's pretty good, why don't you try it?"

Vincent looked at Cedric, whose ears were smoking, and subconsciously retracted his little hand that was reaching for the plate.

"Thank you for your kindness. I'm quite warm now."

Dumbledore chuckled and focused on the door.

The six little ones just looked over.

A middle-aged uncle wearing a black striped suit, and a middle-aged aunt wearing pink accessories.

This combination amused the twins.

Of course they knew the Minister of Magic, but the pink toad next to him really brought the level down.

Vincent knew what Fudge looked like, but he didn't expect his taste to be so strange.

"Good evening, Cornelius." Dumbledore stood up.

Fudge stepped forward, "Long time no see, Albus."

The exchange of greetings between the two of them vaguely revealed a hint of hypocrisy.

According to some rumors, Fudge was able to successfully become Minister of Magic only because Dumbledore rejected the position countless times.

"Ahem -" the short and fat lady came to the six little men, "This is the current Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge."

She seemed to feel very good about herself and introduced herself to them.

"I am Dolores Jane Umbridge, Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Magic."

This disgusting tone made their hair stand on end instantly.

Just when Vincent speculated whether this person rose to power through his "beauty", Fudge extended his hand with extra enthusiasm.

"Oh, you must be Mr. Wayne!"

"Yes, Mr. Minister." He smiled and shook his hand.

Fudge seemed very satisfied and shook hands with several young wizards one by one.

"About Quirinus Quirrell——"

He looked at Dumbledore, "Do you have anything to say, Albus?"

"A puppet, Connelly."

Dumbledore turned his gaze to the rusty Gryffindor sword on the shelf, "I'm sure it's him, but he has indeed left."

Fudge frowned again, "Albus, you should know what this means."

"He is back, and I can prove this fact."

"Professor Dumbledore——"

Umbridge said with a ridiculous face: "You mean the person from eleven years ago is back?"

"Yes."

"impossible!"

Her voice was a bit sharp, "Harry Potter bounced back the killing curse, and he is already dead!"

Dumbledore didn't refute, just looked into her eyes calmly.

"Don't be like this, Albus." Fudge stepped in between the two of them, "We need evidence, evidence that is one hundred percent certain."

As the second person to survive the Killing Curse, Vincent said he could serve as a witness.

"Quirinas' wand was destroyed."

Dumbledore pretended not to see his suggestive look, "If the flashback spell can still be used, I think the Imperius Curse will definitely appear."

The Sword of Gryffindor has indeed been subjected to the Killing Curse, this is a fact that cannot be faked.

But if Quirrell's wand was never used, who released it?

Of course Fudge understands such a simple truth.

"Oh! Quirinus, poor fellow—"

Fudge looked at the six little ones who wanted to say something several times, "I think you must be very conflicted when dealing with him, right?"

Vincent understood.

Isn't it just to minimize the big issue and block the source of the news first?

Last time I made the headlines for no apparent reason, this time I want to get some benefit from whatever I say.

"Yes, Mr. Minister."

He lowered his little head and said with a sad face: "I have comforted myself countless times that Professor Quirrell is not the mysterious person who invaded Gringotts.

But the reality is too cruel, he is obviously such a good and competent professor!"

Dumbledore twitched his eyes.

Vincent suddenly pointed to the small wound on his forehead that was about to heal, "But from the moment he gave me this scar, I was determined not to let him continue to fall!"

"Pfft--" The twins quickly covered their mouths.

"I failed."

He shook his head weakly, "No matter what kind of ghost possessed Professor Quirrell, I hope he can reflect on the sins he has committed."

Hermione couldn't help but roll her eyes.

Even Mag, who was standing at the door and wanted to leave, subconsciously pursed his lips tighter.

"Mr. Minister!" Vincent walked forward excitedly, looking at Fudge sincerely.

"Although we stopped Professor Quirrell, we are still upset all the time.

We should not have considered his future at the beginning, so that you could have helped him earlier and prevented things from developing to this point."

Cedric and Rove have only been in contact for a short time, but they can both understand something from this passage.

To put it simply, they were the ones who defeated Quirrell. Do they need to give them something to appease their injured hearts?

However, Fudge sighed as if he didn't understand.

"I can understand how you feel.

Really, I don’t believe Quirinas would do such a thing.”

The current Minister of Magic was so ignorant that Vincent's face immediately darkened.

"Mr. Minister, most of the injuries on Professor Quirrell's body were actually caused by me."

He quietly put his hands on his lower back and twisted them hard.

"If I knew it would be like this, I would have given way to him just now."

Even if it hurts, they are genuine tears.
