Chapter 758: A trial and a show

"Child, I am here." Mrs. Peter called Peter Pettigrew with tears.

He heard it, and a flash of regret quickly flashed in his eyes.

But he never looked at his mother.

Mrs. Peter covered her heart with pain on her face.

After today's court hearing, everything will return to its original trajectory.

The only difference is that she changed from the mother of a hero to the mother of a murderer.

But it doesn't matter if he's not a hero. She just wants her son to live well.

But this hope is destined to fail.

The process under the presiding judge, Bones, went very quickly, and exhibits, witnesses and testimonies were submitted one after another.

It is said to be a trial, but in fact it is more like a process.

The first is the evidence, a wand that belongs to Wales.

The person who testified was Scrimgeour.

"Dear judge and jury, I swear on my twenty-year career fighting against black magic that the magical aura left in this wand is one hundred percent consistent with Peter Pettigrew."

The Wizengamot members of the jury said nothing and looked at the evidence presented indifferently.

More than half a month has passed, and I can still feel its residual dark magic aura.

This is an aura full of violence and destruction. You can imagine what kind of mood Peter Pettigrew had when he cast the spell.

The second piece of evidence was a Muggle car that had been blown up to the point where it was completely unrecognizable.

Scrimgeour testified again, followed by Vincent and Hermione as witnesses.

"Mr. Wayne, Miss Granger, can you describe the situation at that time?"

"Of course, distinguished judge and jury."

In Vincent's extremely solemn statement, Peter Pettigrew kept using Apparition to try to escape. Fortunately, he had undergone Apparition training during the summer vacation, otherwise he would not have been able to track and successfully catch him.

The presiding judge, Bones, looked at the documents on the table and said, "Mr. Wayne, you learned Apparition from Mr. Sam Chavez, the senior Auror of MACUSA, right?"

"Yes, your honor."

Bones opened the file and took out a letter, "This is Mr. Chavez's personal letter, right?"

Vincent's expression was still extremely serious, "Yes, if it weren't for the emergency situation at the time, I would never have performed the Apparition without obtaining a certificate."

He looked at the jury and said, "Dear judge and jury, I am willing to bear all the consequences of using Apparition without permission."

Bones picked up another document and said, "Mr. Wayne, MACUSA has given you a guarantee and you are not responsible for this matter."

She paused, "But after the trial, you need to go to the Ministry of Magic to obtain the Apparition qualification certificate as soon as possible."

Vincent nodded seriously as never before, "I will definitely do it, Your Honor."

Bones looked at Hermione, "Miss Granger, you used an alchemical firearm several times when you tracked Peter Pettigrew to the Muggle Museum, right?"

Hermione glanced at Vincent, and her initially flustered mood quickly calmed down.

"Yes, your honor."

"Miss Granger, can you tell me what made you choose to use this alchemical firearm?"

"Okay." Hermione took a deep breath.

She looked towards Peter Pettigrew, her delicate face showing fear.

"My magic level is limited. In order to maintain as much physical strength as possible and continue tracking, I can only choose to use this gun created by Mr. Vincent Wayne through alchemy."

Bones picked up the gun blade's registration document and said, "Miss Granger, this alchemical firearm was officially registered as early as April 20, 1992, so you are not responsible for the damage caused to the Muggle museum.

"

Hermione quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

Although Vincent had long predicted that the Ministry of Magic would not pursue the case, she was still a little worried.

It's okay now, and I can finally testify with peace of mind.

Bones then asked McGonagall, Lupin, and Snape about some small details.

As outstanding students at Hogwarts, Vincent and Hermione discovered the Bat Family's actions early that night.

But when they woke up the three professors and prepared to ambush them, they accidentally encountered Peter Pettigrew who was fleeing outside the school.

At that time, everyone, including the professor, only knew that the man who turned into a mouse was Ben Ben, the pet rat who disappeared again.

McGonagall successfully trapped him with Transfiguration, but Lupine recognized him.

"Professor Luping, you and the prisoner are students in the same class, and you are also very close friends, right?"

Lu Ping clenched his fists and said, "Your Honor, we used to be friends."

"So Professor, when did you start to doubt what happened back then?"

"It starts with the school's Court of Owls club posting a notice looking for Ben."

Bones looked at Sirius on the other side of the witness box, "Mr. Black, the reason you escaped from Azkaban was because you saw the Evening Prophet on June 17th. Am I right?"

"Yes, your honor."

A mouse with missing toes on its forelimbs is nothing special. The key is that Peter Pettigrew's Animagus form is also a mouse, and he only had one finger left after the blasting curse.

Sirius thought he was dead, but when he saw the newspaper of that day, he found out that he had faked his death to escape and had been hiding in the Weasley house.

Arthur and Molly in the auditorium glared at Peter Pettigrew on the iron chair.

This traitor from the Order of the Phoenix actually had the nerve to hide in their house. He should have been thrown out when he ran in instead of being kept as a pet for Percy.

Bones asked Sirius the most critical question, "Mr. Black, the protector of the Fidelity Curse was not you but the prisoner Peter Pettigrew. What specific evidence do you have to support your statement?"

"Only four people know about this matter." Sirius closed his eyes, looking extremely sad.

"I am one of the heirs of the Black family. Everyone knows that my cousin and brother were loyal Death Eaters at that time. Although James and Lily - the Potters - have great trust in me, I..."

He suddenly opened his eyes and stared at Peter Pettigrew on the iron chair.

"But I finally succeeded in persuading the couple to change the secret keeper to this traitor! Because he is low-key and timid enough! He will not attract the attention of the Death Eaters!"

Bones tapped the table lightly, "Mr. Black, please control your emotions a little."

Sirius took a deep breath, "I'm sorry, distinguished judge and jury.

All of us underestimated this traitor. At that time, I chased him all the way to the Muggle community, and he said that he was scared when he faced Ambush. He was not as brave as us, and he had no way of rejecting that person."

He turned to look at Dumbledore and Vincent.

"As for the evidence, I know a very unpopular magic spell that can determine who was the secret keeper back then."

Everyone focused their attention on the two of them.

One is the chief magician of the Wizengamot, and the other is the British youth representative of the Wizengamot.

If they were to testify, most of the wizards present, including the presiding judge and the jury, would be convinced.
