thor from the walking dead

Chapter 10: Undercurrent Rising

Makino was dressed in black and was running and jumping between buildings. His movements were as agile and light as a ghost. The moon was dark and the wind was high, so no one noticed him at all.

In the prime minister's residence, the office hall was still lit with lights. Ed was looking through the pile of to-do items when suddenly the window was knocked and a familiar voice came.

"Sir, More wants to see you."

"Mor?! Why are you here? Come in quickly!"

The window opened and Makino walked into the house. He took off his mask and saluted: "Sir, Moore has something to report." He took out Mrs. Caitlin's handwritten letter from his arms and handed it to Ed.

Ed opened the letter and looked at it. His expressions kept changing, his face became darker and darker, and a raging anger was brewing.

"My lady is expected to arrive at King's Landing tomorrow. She wants to test the truth personally. If her suspicion is confirmed, we will return to the North immediately. War is coming."

"These people are so brave, how dare they plot against my Stark family..."

June 6

On top of the tower.

Petyr sat at a large wooden table, in front of him were Lady Catelyn and Rodrik who had just been escorted by the guards.

"Why did you bring me here? I am not a maid who is called around." Caitlin looked unhappy.

"Madam, I absolutely did not mean to offend you." Littlefinger Petyr showed an expression that seemed full of regret.

"How did you know I was in town?"

"Because of Varys."

Petyr gave a narrow smile, and at the same time Varys walked out of the room on the side.

"It turns out to be an eight-clawed spider, so it's not surprising."

Varys was fat, full of yin energy, and his head was as smooth as a shelled egg. He held Caitlin's hand in both hands: "We have been away for many years, and unexpectedly we meet today. It's really exciting."

Caitlin withdrew her hand from his palm with some disgust, "My hands are very good, you don't have to be so pretentious."

Wallis lowered his head and whispered: "I am deeply sorry about your young master. When I think of his young age, I feel that the gods in the sky are really cruel. By the way, could you please let us take a look at that dagger?"

Caitlin nodded to Rodrik after hearing this, and Rodrik took out the dragon bone dagger from his waist and handed it to Varys.

Pulling out the dagger and looking at it for a moment, Varys solemnly said: "This dagger is made of Valyrian steel, and the handle is a dragon bone."

"Do you know who the dagger belongs to?" Caitlin asked tentatively.

Varys shook his head: "I know a lot of things, including how many glasses of wine the king drank today, but I really don't know who this dagger belongs to."

Petyr chuckled: "Today is such a rare day, you actually have something you don't know about."

Catelyn and Varys both turned to look at Petyr who smiled triumphantly.

"There is only one dagger in the Seven Kingdoms, and it is mine." Petyr was very confident in his acting skills.

"Yours?" That's the last thing Caitlin wanted to hear.

"Yes, but until the tourney on Prince Joffrey's name day, half of the court and I bet that Ser Jaime would win the joust, but he was dismounted by Ser Loras Tyrell.

Sir Jaime lost a hundred gold dragon coins, the queen lost a piece of emerald jewelry, and I lost this knife...

The winner let go of Her Majesty's emerald, but kept everything else."

"Who is this person?" Caitlin knew Petyr too well. Even after so many years, it was still the same. She had already got the answer, but in order not to alert the snake, she still continued to cooperate with the acting and questioning.

"Little devil, Tyrion Lannister!" Petyr saw that the atmosphere was almost building, so he pushed the scapegoat little devil out.

But what he didn't know was that Caitlin was completely sure that he was the mastermind behind the scenes. She had fantasies before coming here, hoping that her guess was wrong, but now she couldn't help but not believe it.

"You mean Tyrion asked assassins to kill my children?"

"I didn't say that, I just told the origin of the dagger." Petyr

His eyes were sly, and his expression clearly said that Tyrion was the one who paid for the murder.

After the court meeting, Ed crossed the outer court and entered the inner court. He was about to walk towards the Prime Minister's Tower when Littlefinger suddenly appeared in front of him.

"Stark, you are going the wrong way, follow me."

After hearing what Makino said, Ed really didn't have any good impression of Littlefinger, but he still followed Littlefinger.

Entering a high tower, the two of them went down a winding staircase and then passed through a small sunken courtyard.

"This is not the way to my room."

"Of course not, Stark, we don't have time to talk nonsense, your lady is waiting for you." Littlefinger said and walked down the stairs quickly.

When they reached the bottom, two horses were waiting there. The two rode on and followed the path towards the city. Finally, Baelish stopped in front of a three-story wooden and stone building.

The light from the window is brighter than the scorching sun in the sky.

Music and harsh laughter emanated from inside, and a gorgeous oil lamp hung on a heavy chain beside the door, covered with a leaded red glass lampshade.

Ed turned over and dismounted, and angrily pulled the little finger off the horse's back and threw it heavily to the ground.

"This is a female branch. They said my wife was waiting for me, but you actually took me to the female branch?"

"Your wife is in there." Littlefinger said and got up awkwardly. There was no anger on his face, and he dusted himself off.

Hearing this, Ed couldn't bear it any longer. He pulled out the dagger from his waist and was about to make Little Finger pay for his actions, but he was stopped by an anxious voice: "Sir, stop now, the lady is indeed here."

Ed turned around with the knife in his hand angrily, only to see a white-haired old man wearing brown coarse cloth, with the soft flesh of his jaw trembling as he ran, running out of the door.

"Ser Rodrik?"

Sir Rodrik nodded and took two breaths before saying, "My lady is waiting for you upstairs, please come with me."

Walking into the house, walking through the crowded hall, Little Finger led him up to the third floor, through the corridor, and into the room.

As soon as Caitlin saw him coming, she ran over to him and hugged him tightly.

"lady."

Leaning against Ed's chest, Caitlin choked with sobs: "I know about Arya and Prince Joffrey. Are my good daughters okay?"

"They are very good. The nun is teaching them court etiquette." Ed gently comforted his wife.

After a while, Caitlin pulled out a dagger from under her cloak and handed it to Ed: "Someone is bringing this knife to take Bran's life..."...

Catelyn told the whole story, but omitted the part about Petyr's little finger, because after all, the little finger was right next to her.

"The little devil's knife."

Eddard recited these words. He grasped the smooth dragon bone handle tightly and stabbed it hard on the table, as if it was pierced into Littlefinger's chest: "Why did Tyrion want Bran's life? Then

The children never messed with him."

"You Starks have no brains?" Littlefinger's tone was full of sarcasm: "Of course the little devil will not act alone, and you don't have too much hope for this dagger. It is a good knife.

But all good knives are sharpened on both sides.

If there is no conclusive evidence, the little devil will definitely argue that the dagger was lost or stolen while he was in Winterfell. In addition, the assassin does not know who is behind the scenes. Who can prove the truth of what he said? I

I suggest you just let this matter go, otherwise the consequences will be endless!"

"We will find the evidence."

Eddard turned to look at Caitlin: "Madam, it is no longer safe for you to stay here. I hope you return to Winterfell immediately. If there is one, there will be two. There is no guarantee that other assassins will not come to visit in the future. Varys can know

If you come to King's Landing, the mastermind behind it must soon learn that Bran survived."

"I want to see my daughter..." Caitlin was full of reluctance.

"That's too dangerous," Eddard shook his head and refused, hugging her into his arms: "Take Sir Rodrik and set off back to Winterfell. I will take good care of my daughters."

"That's it, sir"

Caitlin raised her face, and Edd kissed her, and she

An almost desperate force hugged his back, as if to keep him in his safe embrace forever.

"Sir, Madam, why don't you lend me the bedroom?" Littlefinger felt very uncomfortable, and his tone was slightly unkind.

"Just let us be alone." Caitlin didn't even look at Littlefinger.

"That's fine."

Littlefinger walked towards the door: "Don't delay for too long. The Prime Minister and I have to rush back as soon as possible, otherwise missing for too long will make others suspicious."

The door closed, and Ed turned to face his wife: "Morr came to see me last night, and he told me everything. Based on Petyr's performance just now, he is currently the most suspect and completely untrustworthy.

As soon as you arrive home, immediately send a message in my name to Herman Talha and Gabbert Glover, ordering them to send a hundred archers each to assist in the defense of the Gulf of Cailin. Two hundred archers are enough to prevent any army from marching north to the Neck.

.

At the same time, Lord Manderly is instructed to step up repairs to the defenses of White Harbor and ensure that the garrison is sufficient. Also, you must pay special attention to Theon Greyjoy. If war breaks out, we will need his father's fleet."

"War broke out?" Caitlin's face was full of fear. She knew best what war meant.

"Petyr won't be the only black hand, and it won't matter if he doesn't have an army under his command. But there is a turbulent undercurrent in King's Landing now, and the ministers have their own agendas. The Lannister family may be disadvantageous to Robert. Once something happens to him, the balance will be shaken.

If it is broken, war will break out!"

Ed doesn't want to do this, but all signs are telling him that he must prepare in advance, otherwise the Stark family will be in disaster!

"Now Robert has been immersed in luxury and luxury all day long. The Lannister family treats the weak without mercy. Aerys Targaryen is the best lesson.

Next, I have to play this fool's masquerade with them and continue to pretend as if nothing has happened."

Ed felt Caitlin trembling in his arms: "Morr will secretly protect me and our daughter. The only thing I can't trust now is you and the children of Winterfell..."
