Two Worlds: I studied at Hogwarts
#179 - Snape's Potion
Professor Snape's office was located even more remotely than the potions classroom.
However, the temperature in this place was not as low as imagined.
Through the solid wooden door, Muen could feel that the room in front of him should have had a fire burning for a long time.
Just after Muen knocked on the door, an exasperated roar came from behind the wooden door.
"Didn't I say, don't let anyone disturb me!"
Muen recognized Snape's anger, but he still mustered his courage and shouted again.
"Professor, Madam Pomfrey, the school nurse, sent me. She wants to know when the Pepperup Potion will be ready?"
The Pepperup Potion had actually been brewed long ago, but because he wanted to analyze the new materials, Snape hadn't sent it over.
However, after hearing that it was Muen's voice, Snape glanced at the few remaining potion ingredients and the potion that had just begun to be experimented with.
He put away the cold expression on his face and tried to make himself look calmer.
After doing all this, he gently waved his hand and used magic to open the door to the office.
Muen had been waiting at the door.
Seeing the wooden door open, but no one behind it, he walked into the office somewhat at a loss.
"Professor, I..."
?
Muen only said half a sentence when he noticed that Snape was brewing potions at this moment.
The alcohol lamp under the cauldron was turned up to its maximum power. Snape was adding various ingredients to the cauldron while chanting spells and stirring non-stop.
His eyes were fixed on the changes in the potion in the cauldron, without any intention of paying attention to the little wizard who had already entered the office.
Muen noticed Snape's nervous emotions and the two small bags of materials that were missing from the potion table.
He turned around and closed the door, standing still and waiting quietly.
Muen knew that Snape needed a quiet environment at this time.
He stood by and watched quietly, taking the opportunity to learn the potion-making process of a potions master.
Snape's potion-making technique was very precise and skilled, and he didn't hesitate at all when handling each potion ingredient.
His eyes kept moving with his hands, and he could even multitask by dealing with the flame situation and casting new stirring spells at the same time.
This made Muen feel surprised and deeply aware that this potions professor's abilities were indeed extraordinary.
However, Muen also noticed an abnormality.
Professor Snape's movements in brewing the potion were unusually light, but fine beads of sweat still appeared on his forehead.
This made Muen even more curious about what kind of potion Snape was brewing.
After about thirty minutes, after adding all the ingredients to the cauldron, Snape turned the flame of the alcohol lamp to the smallest setting, and then turned to look at Muen.
"The Pepperup Potion is on the far left of the third shelf over there. Tell Pomfrey that I've made some adjustments to the potion this time, and it should be able to cure the little wizards' colds quickly, but there will also be some side effects."
"Side effects! Professor, what are they?"
Hearing Snape's words, Muen asked almost subconsciously.
However, seeing Snape's displeased eyes, Muen quickly added.
"Oh, Professor, I have friends in the school infirmary who also have colds, so I was just curious to ask."
Although Muen explained, Snape's expression was still not very good.
"There won't be any major reactions, except that steam will come out of their ears and their faces will turn red for a few hours."
Hearing Snape's words, Muen imagined the consequences of drinking this potion.
It seemed more like the Hogwarts Express train.
"Okay, Professor, I understand."
Muen found the Pepperup Potion according to the order Snape pointed out.
Knowing that there were many little wizards suffering from colds, Snape had prepared a large jar of potion this time. Muen first tried the weight of the jar, and then cast a [Levitation Charm] on it before hugging the jar and preparing to leave.
While focusing on the potion, Snape had been watching Muen's movements.
When he saw that this little wizard was already able to use the [Levitation Charm] easily, a hint of surprise appeared in his eyes.
Snape had heard Professor Flitwick say that Muen had a talent for charms, but he hadn't paid much attention to it.
After all, many little wizards show a talent for charms every year.
But seeing that Muen was able to cast the [Levitation Charm] on such a heavy jar of medicine, he knew that he might have been wrong.
According to Muen's current learning progress, Snape knew that the time he had been exposed to the [Levitation Charm] would not exceed a month.
Now, being able to make a pencil float is already considered good, and the duration won't be very long, usually a few seconds at most.
But Muen's charm didn't seem to be like that. Seeing Muen holding the jar of medicine in one hand and walking to the door, Snape called out to him again.
"Next week, you can bring more of this material. I know far more spells than you think."
Hearing Snape's voice, Muen subconsciously retracted his leg that was about to step out of the office.
"Professor, actually, you don't have to wait until next week. I have quite a lot now."
When Muen entered this office, he had already noticed that Snape had used a large amount of batfish powder and flame snail shell powder.
And seeing the dosage that the other party had just added to the cauldron, Muen knew that the remaining materials could no longer support Snape in brewing the same potion again.
"Have a lot? How much is a lot?"
Snape's expression became a little anxious.
Seeing Muen just stretching out a finger, he eagerly guessed the answer.
"1 ounce, too little, not enough at all!"
Snape was a little disgusted.
However, Muen shook his head. Just as he was about to explain, Snape spoke again.
"Not? Could it be ten ounces?"
Muen shook his head again and gave up speaking, instead looking down at the large jar containing the Pepperup Potion in his arms.
"About a jar like this."
"Hiss!"
Snape took a deep breath.
The Pepperup Potion he had prepared this time was completely prepared according to the dosage for thirty people for 3 days, about 500 Pensis.
Although Pepperup Potion is heavier than powdered fish material, according to this ratio, Muen must have at least 300 Pensis of potion material in his hand.
Thinking of this, Snape became even more anxious.
"Bring them all, I will give you a reasonable price."
"Professor, but I want some special spells that are not in the textbook."
Seeing Snape's expression, Muen knew that the initiative to set the price had returned to his hands.
Hearing Muen's words, Snape did not hesitate this time.
With a wave of his hand, a piece of parchment on the desk flew in front of Muen.
"[Occlumency], this spell was created by me, and no one else knows it yet."
Listening to Snape's introduction, Muen carefully looked at the detailed description of the spell on the parchment.
"This spell was originally created to give me an undisturbed potion-making environment. It can completely shield all external sounds."
After Snape finished speaking, Muen couldn't help but feel overjoyed.
He was worried about finding a way to solve Montoya's keen hearing after the transformation, and now the answer had directly flown into his hands.
"Professor, please wait a moment, I will go and get the potion materials."
After Muen finished speaking, he quickly ran to the school infirmary, put down the Pepperup Potion, and then ran back to the dormitory.
Opening the suitcase placed under the bed, he took out a large jar of batfish powder and a small jar of flame snail shell powder.
The little witch Chris had already pre-made a lot of these materials on the Scarlet Moon, and Muen had only brought a small part this time.
"How did you get so many materials? This can almost allow me to try to improve the Wolfsbane Potion hundreds of times..."
Snape didn't continue to speak.
Before he succeeded, he didn't want more people to know what he was doing.
"Actually, it's not that much. I also gave some to Professor Sprout to make fertilizer."
"Fertilizer!"
Professor Snape's voice immediately rose several degrees.
"This is a brand new potion material, how can it be used to make fertilizer? This is a great waste!"
\u003e
Muen had already experienced Snape's roar once, so this time, seeing that the other party was about to erupt again, he dodged far away.
It wasn't until five minutes later, when Snape seemed to be tired of talking, that Muen carefully said again.
"Professor, in fact, this material can not only be used to make fertilizer, but also as a snack for the giant squid in the Black Lake."
