Two Worlds: I studied at Hogwarts
#207 - Ancient Magic Transformation
After midnight, Moon reappeared on his four-poster bed in the Hogwarts dorm.
Along with him was a bulging suitcase and a Bouncing Billy that had gained a whole circle of fat.
Finding that it hadn't caused any surprises, Moon quickly placed the Bouncing Billy's tree nest on the bedside table.
"Alright, go back to sleep."
Moon also placed the Bouncing Billy on the bedside table, then got out of bed and carefully placed the suitcase.
When he looked up at the Bouncing Billy again, he found that the little guy was stuck in the door frame because his pockets were too full.
"Okay, it looks like I need to get you a new house."
Moon said, picking up the Bouncing Billy and tucking it into his blanket.
"Chirp~" (Can I go to your house next week?)
The Bouncing Billy didn't care at all. It smoothed out the fur that had just been messed up by the door frame and looked up at Moon inquisitively.
"Of course, go to sleep quickly."
Looking at the Bouncing Billy leaning on his shoulder, its little eyes wide and round, as if recalling happy times in another world.
Moon could only comfort it in a low voice, hoping the conversation wouldn't disturb his roommates.
"Chirp?" (Can I fill my pockets next time too?)
When the Bouncing Billy said this, it patted its bulging little belly with satisfaction.
"Well, Bouncing Billy, you're just keeping these things safe for me~"
"Chirp!" (I know!)
The Bouncing Billy blinked, then turned its body to the other side.
Watching the Bouncing Billy diligently sticking its head into its pocket again, admiring the treasures inside, Moon felt that he should probably find a safer way to transport things.
When Moon woke up on Monday morning and arrived at the common room, he saw Hermione already sitting in front of the fireplace.
The temperature had been getting colder and colder these past two days, and it had even snowed heavily last night.
Hermione had taken out both of her cat-shaped clay figures while reading. One was held in her arms, and the other was used as a pad under her hand.
After quickly turning a page of her book, she would immediately grab the hand warmer.
Hearing footsteps, Hermione greeted without looking up.
"I'm earlier than you today!"
"Yes, Professor Cat!"
Moon said, sitting down opposite Hermione and opening "Ancient Curse Techniques: Exploring the Primal Marks of Magic."
"When did I get another title?"
Hearing Moon's words, Hermione finally looked up, curiously looking at the little wizard sitting opposite her with a frown.
"Just now, what, don't you like it?"
Hearing Moon's perfunctory answer, Hermione sighed helplessly.
"Alright, for the sake of the cat, I won't argue with you."
After saying a sentence to Moon, Hermione lowered her head and began to concentrate on reading, but when she saw the cat-shaped hand warmer in her arms, a smile appeared on her lips.
Moon had been studying ancient magical gestures during this time, even on the Scarlet Moon.
He had already recorded the relevant knowledge in two thick notebooks.
Through studying how wizards gradually transformed ancient spellcasting gestures, Moon had a basic understanding of these complex movements.
Especially regarding the changes in hand positions.
Moon had also found a way to use a wand to replace the various movements made by the hands, as well as the bending and stretching of the fingers.
For example, in ancient magic, two palms were quickly clasped together, first with the first three pairs of fingers opposing each other, and then with both thumbs pointing down.
In ancient magic, this represented the meaning of summoning magic, and it was also the starting gesture for most offensive spells.
In modern magic, to complete this action with a wand, one simply needs to swipe lightly from left to right and upwards.
Similarly, in ancient magic, fingers were crossed, hands were reversed, and finally the thumb and forefinger opposed each other.
This set of hand gestures represented a defensive shield.
To complete it with a wand, one simply needs to draw a circle with the wand tip.
"It seems that ancient magic will eventually be replaced by modern magic."
After completing another set of gesture analyses, Moon increasingly felt that ancient magic, including witchcraft, needed to change in order to survive.
Otherwise, it would only be beaten to a pulp by future wands.
Moon's current research progress was completely based on analyzing the spell [Mirror Light Reverse Tide].
After reading through the book on ancient spellcasting gestures, he began to analyze every movement of this defensive spell.
He had now completed a quarter of the disassembly, and it wouldn't be long before he could transform this magic into a true wand spell.
As long as he could complete the transformation of this spell, it would be of great help to the subsequent transformation of other spells, and even tribal witchcraft.
At the very least, the transformation speed would be much faster.
As more and more people entered the common room and the environment began to become noisy, Hermione reluctantly closed her book.
Moon hadn't noticed the changes around him at first, because he had cast [Silencing Charm] on himself while studying.
Noticing that Hermione, who was sitting across from him, had stopped studying, Moon also looked up, first dispelling the spell on himself, and then opening his mouth.
"Would you like me to cast a spell on you in the future? It's very useful in the common room."
"Of course, I'd be grateful if Mr. Strange could seal my ears up every day."
Hermione tilted her head slightly, blinked her eyes gently, and teased with a smile on her lips.
After speaking, she packed up the large book, hugged it in her arms, and turned to leave.
Moon was stunned for a moment, and then curiously looked at the little witch's back and asked.
"Mr. Strange? When did I get another title?"
"Just now, what, don't you like it?"
When they went to the Great Hall for breakfast in the morning, the festive atmosphere throughout the castle was already very strong.
Because everyone was meeting for the first year, some young wizards were tentatively asking their good friends what they liked.
Some people answered very directly, clearly wanting to get something.
Some people answered very vaguely, hoping to get a surprise on the day.
"The stories I heard when I was little were all about Santa Claus giving gifts. Later, I learned that those were all prepared by my parents."
Seamus explained the Christmas stories of Muggle children while eating.
"Is Santa Claus also a wizard?"
After hearing the story, Moon asked curiously.
Hermione next to him had long been accustomed to Moon's lack of common sense questions.
She silently muttered "Truly worthy of being Mr. Strange" in her heart, and explained without looking up.
"I think if this old man really exists, he must be a wizard."
"That's right, I think Dumbledore is very similar to him."
Harry also explained next to him.
In Harry's opinion, apart from the reindeer pulling the sleigh and the red robe, Dumbledore was almost exactly like Santa Claus.
Hearing Harry's description, Moon recalled the image of Santa Claus in Seamus's story.
Tall figure, wearing a nightcap, white beard, can fly, and can come out of the chimney:::::
These pieces of evidence do indeed indicate that this old man is a wizard, and he really looks like Dumbledore.
Moon also thought of what kind of Christmas gift he should give to Dumbledore from this story.
Seeing Ron next to him finally finish eating, Moon asked in a low voice about his question.
"Ron, do you know how to learn the [Undetectable Extension Charm]?"
Ron wasn't as sensitive as Hermione. He wasn't surprised at all when he heard this question, and was even a little excited.
"This spell is very difficult to learn. George and Fred once tried to learn it secretly, but were discovered by a professor, and then received a Howler from Mom."
Although he couldn't compare to his brothers in many ways, Ron was also very happy to see the twins suffer.
"Why? This spell doesn't sound very dangerous?"
Moon didn't understand. He knew that this spell wasn't allowed to be learned by lower grade young wizards.
But being sent a Howler, seemed a bit too much in his opinion.
"The danger of this spell is indeed not great, but unfortunately, it involves that law."
