Two Worlds: I studied at Hogwarts
#21 - Moon's wizard bar changes
Mune discovered one of Malfoy's secrets.
He found out the reason why Malfoy was so sure he would be sorted into Slytherin on the boat back then.
Because in these two Potions classes, Professor Snape scolded almost everyone, only Malfoy received his praise.
Even if Mune sliced the dried nettles very neatly, and crushed the snake fangs finely and evenly, even if Hermione's movements were light and her incantations were accurate, it couldn't compare to Malfoy's graceful act of putting a slug into the cauldron.
Fortunately, Mune wasn't deliberately seeking the professor's praise. He stared intently at the cauldron on the table, and whenever Hermione stopped stirring, he would smoothly add the next potion ingredient.
Having previewed the textbook in the morning, Mune was very clear that this potion for curing boils had a high degree of danger during the brewing process.
Corrosion and high temperature were the biggest characteristics of this semi-finished potion. Smelling a pungent sour smell from the cauldron, Mune's movements became more and more careful.
However, an accident still happened. Just after Mune took the cauldron off the fire, Neville in the row behind him let out a scream.
Mune was startled, but he still held the cauldron firmly.
Having worked frequently, Mune knew that the more this was the case, the less he could panic, otherwise the next one to scream might be himself.
After placing the cauldron steadily on the asbestos heat insulation pad and adding the crushed porcupine quills, Mune turned to look at the scene of the accident.
The potion in Neville and Seamus's cauldron spilled all over the ground, and the strong corrosiveness scared the surrounding students to jump onto their chairs.
And Neville, the unlucky child, was already screaming from being burned, with large red blisters appearing on his arms and legs.
Professor Snape hurriedly walked over, waved his wand gently, and all the potion on the ground was instantly cleaned up.
"Idiot, didn't you add the porcupine quills without taking the cauldron off the fire..."
Neville was punished by Professor Snape, but it was Harry who had points deducted, because he had not fulfilled his obligation to remind his classmates.
Mune didn't know what exactly happened between Harry and Professor Snape, but he was now very sure that Malfoy and Harry had become two positive and negative examples in Potions class.
Neville was finally sent to the school infirmary by Seamus, while the others continued to brew potions.
Perhaps feeling the tragic shock after Neville's potion failure, only two groups of potions were successfully brewed in the entire class.
Malfoy and Millicent Bulstrode.
Mune and Hermione.
However, only Malfoy received the bonus points reward.
Mune and Hermione were also not awarded points for failing to fulfill their obligation to remind Neville.
After class, all the Gryffindor students left very quickly, fearing that being a step slower would also lead to being scolded by Snape.
Mune, on the other hand, was at the back table, tidying up Neville's textbooks and tools.
This unlucky little wizard had forgotten all his things here when he was sent to the school infirmary.
When Mune finished tidying up and was about to leave, he looked up and saw the glass jars displaying specimens, which clearly reflected his own reflection.
Mune found that his wizard bar had actually increased a little!
About a quarter of a bar.
This novel discovery dispelled all the negative emotions brought about by the Potions class.
Mune finally proved that he was not a "half-baked psychic" who couldn't use magic. He could also become a true wizard.
"Mune Scarlett, if you like that bat so much, I wouldn't mind sending you in to accompany it."
Snape's cold voice sounded behind him. Mune was stunned for a moment before he could see clearly that the glass jar in front of him contained a specimen of a black bat with fangs bared.
"I'm very sorry, Professor. I thought I could help you clean up here."
Mune turned around and explained awkwardly.
"Immediately! Leave!"
Feeling that Snape seemed to be on the verge of exploding, Mune picked up everything and quickly ran out of the Potions classroom.
But as he stepped out of the classroom door, he still expressed his gratitude.
"Thank you, Professor."
Mune didn't know if the change in his wizard bar was related to today's potion brewing. It didn't matter now, anyway, he was very happy.
So what if Professor Snape was too strict? He still learned how to brew a boil-curing potion.
One should have respect for those who teach you knowledge. This was also the principle that Uncle Neil taught Mune.
Arriving at the Great Hall, Mune enjoyed a delicious lunch. During this time, he carefully observed the changes in the wizard bars of all the first-year students.
When they entered school a week ago, only Hermione had half a bar of wizard power. Now, after a week, Hermione had also fully demonstrated her ability.
She could always succeed in casting spells in one go. The same was true for Transfiguration and potion making, not to mention History of Magic and Defense Against the Dark Arts, which only required memorization.
The only place she might lose points was because the unpleasant smell of fertilizer in the greenhouse caused her to not particularly like Herbology class.
But this did not hinder her excellent performance in Herbology class.
The magic bar on Hermione's head had already exceeded half a bar. She was still the first among the first-year students, and she was far ahead of the second tier.
Looking around at the first-year students at each table, Mune saw a few slightly longer magic bars.
Malfoy from Slytherin, Michael Corner from Ravenclaw, and Susan Bones from Hufflepuff.
These three people's magic bars were all around one-third of a bar.
Next was Mune, with a quarter of a bar of magic, and there were some classmates with the same length as him, but most of them were from Ravenclaw.
As for his roommates, Mune looked at Harry, Ron, and Seamus.
Uh, it seemed like it was still blank.
Of course, it had only been a week, and the current magical strength could not represent the future. Mune believed that everyone would slowly improve.
He glanced at the wizard bars of the second-year students, and the shortest one was actually as long as his.
This made Mune feel a little more urgency. He didn't want to be like this in the second year. Fortunately, he was very clear about his weaknesses.
Weak basic knowledge, inaccurate spell pronunciation, not timely recording of the professor's lecture points...
He had already found solutions to these problems. Mune felt that his magic learning progress would definitely become smoother and smoother.
But it was not enough to be smooth only at Hogwarts. He also had to consider what to do after returning to Xilin.
Thinking of this, Mune took a sip of after-dinner tea and quickly ran towards the dormitory.
There were no classes on Friday afternoon, which was a good time for him to go to the Forbidden Forest to find saplings. But before that, he had to go find Hagrid and bring Bouncing Ball over to get familiar with the road.
This was also a good opportunity to expand Bouncing Ball's range of activities.
Taking the certificate issued by Professor Sprout, and putting Bouncing Ball on his shoulder, Mune quickly left the castle.
The path to Hagrid's hut had already been inquired by Mune. Coming out of the gate and down a piece of grass, then following the path, you could walk to it.
The scenery along the way was very good, and you could even see the Black Lake in the distance. This was also where Mune shook the boat to scare Malfoy.
Bouncing Ball really liked the scenery of the outdoors, especially when it saw the Black Lake, it chirped non-stop.
"You can come and play later, but you can't enter that forest."
Mune pointed to a vast forest behind the hut in the distance.
