Two Worlds: I studied at Hogwarts
#225 - Dark wizard sneak attack
Crack!
The moment Muen stepped out of the Flying Broomstick shop, the defensive badge on his chest shattered.
This was a Christmas gift from Professor McGonagall, capable of emitting a [Protego] charm for defense upon attack.
Almost as the badge cracked, Muen felt a sudden dizziness.
"Stupefy! Who is it?"
Muen shook his head, scanning the crowd outside the shop, but found nothing unusual. He considered retreating back inside for safety.
Suddenly, a wizard cloaked entirely in black robes, revealing only his eyes, darted out from behind him.
"I knew you'd try to escape back into the shop."
With a cold, raspy voice, the black-robed wizard reached out to grab Muen.
However, he didn't realize that the [Stupefy] spell had very little effect on Muen.
Noticing the wizard's casual approach, Muen swiftly stuffed Professor Flitwick's Screaming Yo-Yo into the black-robed wizard's hand, pressing the switch.
"What?"
Before the black-robed wizard could react, the Screaming Yo-Yo erupted with a loud shriek.
Muen seized the opportunity, mounting his broom, pushing off hard, and soaring away from the shop.
The piercing sound instantly made the black-robed wizard the center of attention.
"What are you holding? Turn it off!"
"It's too loud, can't you hear it?"
Noticing several wizards approaching him, the black-robed wizard dropped the Screaming Yo-Yo, burst out of the shop, and disappeared into the bustling crowd.
Meanwhile, Muen, flying high above, also became a focal point.
Seeing the black-robed wizard escape, Muen, on his broom, prepared to give chase when a squad of Aurors in black robes emerged from the crowd.
Muen had previously encountered this Ministry of Magic security force in Diagon Alley during the Gringotts Wizarding Bank robbery.
"Come down immediately! Flying is prohibited over Diagon Alley, and you're a student, this is a serious offense!"
The leading Auror shouted, pushing through the throng.
To be honest, Muen had intended to descend when the Auror first spoke, but upon hearing that he was breaking the law, he decided against facing them alone.
He flew quickly above the crowd until he spotted a familiar figure, then gradually lowered his broom.
"Professor, I was attacked, and I had to use magic to fly into the air."
"Arrest you? Recount the events in detail."
Snape had already noticed Muen. Although he didn't know what had happened, he chose a conspicuous open space for Muen to land near him.
"You finally came down, or I would have had the Ministry send you a notice based on the Trace."
The leading Auror reached out to grab Muen as soon as he got through the crowd.
However, Snape drew his wand and placed it on the Auror's arm.
"Hold on, you haven't clarified the situation, and he's a Hogwarts student. I won't allow you to take him away so casually."
"Professor, everyone clearly saw that this young wizard violated two regulations: flying over Diagon Alley and underage wizards using magic outside of school."
The leading Auror, disregarding Snape's obstruction, slightly raised Snape's wand, intending to seize Muen.
"Very well, I'll have to go find Dumbledore and tell him that Hogwarts' most outstanding little lion has been taken away by the Ministry of Magic."
Upon hearing Dumbledore's name and the words "most outstanding little lion," the leading Auror withdrew his hand.
"You're a Gryffindor student?"
Seeing Muen nod, the leading Auror glanced at Snape in surprise.
He couldn't understand why Snape would help a little lion.
"Don't be so restrained, child. You should feel closer to me than Professor Snape, after all, I'm your senior, also a Gryffindor graduate."
The leading Auror, completely ignoring the harsh look in Professor Snape's eyes, walked towards Muen and extended his hand in introduction.
"You can call me William. I've been out of school for almost ten years. Can you tell me exactly what happened?"
His tone was less stern than before.
Seeing the other party's goodwill, Muen readily shook his hand.
"Hello, Senior William, I'm Muen Scarlat. A wizard attacked me."
"Wait! Your name is Muen Scarlat? Were you the one who defeated the troll that appeared at school on Halloween?"
"Yes, I was."
Muen never imagined that his reputation for defeating the troll had spread so far.
Seeing the expressions of realization on the faces of the surrounding Aurors, he guessed that the entire British wizarding world probably knew.
"No wonder you're this year's most outstanding little lion. You said a wizard attacked you, did you see what he looked like?"
"No, he was wearing a very concealing black robe..."
Muen recounted the events that had just transpired and handed over the defensive badge.
"Indeed, it's Professor McGonagall's work, her signature is even on it."
William picked up the cracked badge and examined it.
As he finished speaking, an Auror approached, tightly holding an object emitting a piercing sound.
"Boss, we found it. The owner of the Flying Broomstick shop confirmed that a person in a black robe threw it in front of his store."
"I understand, but can you turn it off first? It's too loud!"
William glanced at the Screaming Yo-Yo and immediately covered his ears, retreating to the side.
"I... I tried, but I can't turn it off."
Hearing his subordinate's response, William reluctantly drew his wand and cast several spells on the Screaming Yo-Yo, but the sound remained undiminished.
"Perhaps I can..."
Muen didn't reveal the counter-curse Professor Flitwick had taught him.
However, as soon as he spoke, Snape swiftly drew his wand.
A spell struck the yo-yo, and the sound instantly vanished.
"Oh, so that's the spell. I know it too."
William had barely finished speaking when he saw a look of disdain on Snape's face.
However, William didn't mind. He took the yo-yo and returned it to Muen.
"Alright, child, be careful next time you go out."
William said, taking the record book and quill from his subordinate.
"Sign here, and leave an address where you can be contacted. The Ministry may summon you at any time."
Watching Muen sign and return the paper and pen, William leaned in and whispered in his ear.
"Of course, enjoy the Christmas holiday, after all, no one wants to patrol here like us poor souls."
"Thank you, Senior."
Hearing this, Muen breathed a sigh of relief and responded with a smile.
"You're welcome, remember to give my regards to Professor McGonagall."
After William finished speaking, he looked at the surrounding wizards who were still watching the commotion.
"Alright, everyone, go back to your business. A dark wizard attacked a Hogwarts student,
Regardless of the reason, we Aurors will increase patrols and definitely catch the culprit."
