Two Worlds: I studied at Hogwarts

#29 - Requirements for joining the club

After arriving at Hogwarts, Moon realized that magic wasn't just amazing, it was infinitely amazing.

Professor Sprout gently poured a drop of potion from her hand into the holly sapling's flowerpot, and the bare little tree instantly burst with vitality, sprouting tender buds.

To Moon's astonishment, the small buds slowly grew larger, sprouting branches, and the twigs also grew slowly.

"This is Plant Growth Potion, a very difficult intermediate potion to brew."

Professor Sprout said, capping the potion bottle and handing it over.

At this moment, Moon could finally understand how Harry felt when he received his Nimbus 2000.

No wonder that refined boy kept talking about his flying broom all day long, not even caring about detentions in Potions class.

However, compared to the Nimbus 2000, Moon felt that potions were more practical.

"To ensure that these saplings can fully absorb the energy of the potion, each plant can only receive one drop per day."

Professor Sprout instructed, gesturing for Moon to apply the potion to the remaining two plants.

Gently tilting the potion bottle until a drop of emerald green, thick potion reluctantly left the bottle's mouth, Moon immediately withdrew the small bottle.

Watching the willow branches in the flowerpot sprout new twigs, Professor Sprout nodded in satisfaction.

"Good, although there are only fifteen drops of potion inside, it's already enough to support them in becoming large trees with five growth rings."

"Wait, Professor, are you saying that this one drop of potion can make a sapling become a one-year-old tree?"

Moon looked at the potion bottle in his hand in disbelief, then turned to Professor Sprout for confirmation.

"That's right, this is thanks to a very outstanding Potions Master at our school, otherwise, the Plant Growth Potion simply wouldn't achieve such good results."

"Are you talking about Professor Snape?"

"Of course, he had very high talent in potions when he was a student, but I didn't expect his level to be even higher now."

Moon couldn't understand Professor Sprout's praise for Snape; he just felt that the Potions professor was very difficult to communicate with.

Especially for Gryffindor students.

After Moon finished applying the potion to all the saplings, Professor Sprout nodded in satisfaction.

"Mr. Scarlett, I think Cedric has already told you about the Snail and Orchid Club."

"Yes, Professor."

"Actually, this club was founded by me to allow young people with talent in herbology to exchange ideas."

Sprout said, suddenly turning to look over.

"Oh, right, I haven't asked you if you are interested in joining this club?"

"Of course! Professor."

Moon had no reason to refuse now.

Not only because Professor Sprout had rewarded him with a potion that far exceeded his expectations, but more importantly, Moon knew that he could learn more magical knowledge by joining it.

"Good, since you're willing, then I'll continue. Actually, there are requirements for joining the Snail and Orchid Club..."

As the most authoritative small group at Hogwarts in herbology, the Snail and Orchid Club requires that members must be able to master the characteristics of one herb and put it to reasonable use.

Usually, the minimum requirement to meet this is a third-year student, and it's rare for a first-year like Moon to show such talent, so Sprout was willing to provide extra support.

In fact, after Moon had harvested these three saplings and kept them alive for three days, Sprout was already able to confirm that they would all survive.

And her plant potion only shortened the growth cycle of the saplings.

As for how to use the characteristics of the plants to provide convenience for magic next, this required Moon to do it himself.

This was also Moon's proof of whether he could join the Snail and Orchid Club.

"Alright, Mr. Scarlett, the rest is up to you."

After Sprout finished speaking, she put on her dragon hide gloves. She still had to go to the herb garden to transplant some herbs that the students would use in class next week.

Before leaving, she glanced again at the saplings that were still growing.

"Remember not to frequently apply the potion to them. This is already their limit. Also, remember to move them outside the greenhouse, otherwise the ceiling here will suffer."

"Okay, Professor."

After Moon agreed, he immediately began to move the flowerpots outside.

Now the three saplings had sprouted quite a bit, and the best-growing one was the small willow tree, its height already exceeding Moon's head.

After moving all the flowerpots out, Moon found a shovel and began to dig holes.

He knew that the one-year-old saplings would definitely not stay obediently in the flowerpots, so he had to give them a spacious dormitory.

Outside the greenhouse grew two rows of beautiful, sturdy trees, which must have been planted a long time ago. The most common tree species was the small-leaf linden, whose leaves and flowers were very beautiful.

Moon chose the location for the sapling dormitory next to the small-leaf linden.

While he was digging the holes, the saplings in the flowerpots were still growing non-stop, as if urging him to hurry up.

Moon had to speed up, and at this moment, someone suddenly walked over from the Quidditch pitch.

"I was just training and saw you digging holes, so I thought you might need some help."

It was Cedric who was speaking. Today was the day of Hufflepuff's team training, and he had just seen Moon's figure flying in mid-air.

Cedric said, taking another shovel and joining the digging team.

"Thank you very much."

"No need to thank me, anyway, I think you'll be a member of our club sooner or later."

With Cedric's help, three holes less than two feet deep were quickly dug.

After putting the saplings in and backfilling the soil, Cedric left, and Moon was preparing to go to Hagrid's before the sun went down.

The last time he collected the saplings, Hagrid helped prepare a lot of things. Moon had always kept it in mind, and now that he had obtained such a magical potion, he felt it was necessary to share this joy.

Returning to the dormitory to bring Bouncy, and then taking the small wooden carving that he had carved in his spare time this week, Moon came to the door of the wooden house again.

……

"This is a wooden Fang carved by you!"

The wooden carving, which was originally the size of Moon's palm, was now only the size of his three fingers in Hagrid's hands.

"That's right, this is my gratitude."

Moon said, putting Bouncy on top of Fang's head. The two of them had become very good friends last time.

"Wow, I didn't expect you to have this skill. Look, Fang! This is just like you when you were a kid."

Fang obviously didn't have much interest in the wood carving. He just glanced at it and continued to play with Bouncy.

"Well, it seems friends are more important to him." Hagrid said, putting the small wood carving on the chest of drawers next to his bed, and patted the wooden dog's head.

"Moon, would you like a 'Hagrid Biscuit'? I've improved the recipe, you'll definitely like it."

It must be said that Hagrid's creativity in the culinary field is very bold.

After adding rock cakes to the tea soup, he even added a handful of dried salted fish crumbs.

"How about it? This is the fish I caught in the Black Lake last year, salted and dried for a whole year."

Moon only took one sip, frowned, and put down the soup spoon.
