Under the Red Dragon
#386 - God's Chosen Champion, Heavenly Superman (Part 3)
New York State, USA. Above the Statue of Liberty, a symbol of freedom, equality, and rights.
Several superhumans, dressed in bizarre costumes, stood atop this statue of freedom and equality, looking down at the crowded streets below.
One superhuman, wearing a blue tight-fitting battle suit that revealed his perfectly toned abs, had his true face concealed by a golden owl-like mask, allowing his true nature to be unleashed to the fullest.
He watched as many immigrants on the street were chased and cornered by soldiers of the superhuman organization, some panicked children and women even falling into the river due to the crowded masses.
This ridiculous scene caused the leader of the 'American Commando' organization to burst into laughter, saying: "Since Kansas was destroyed and became a radiation-filled wasteland, our country no longer has a place for you outsiders. Hurry back to your countries that are like dog kennels."
"This country doesn't need you. You are just superfluous maggots, hahaha!" The other superhumans in the commando organization also laughed mockingly. The panic of those ordinary people was like a circus performance in their eyes, filling them with excitement.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
The sound of intense airflow spread rapidly through the air, and with it, several fist-sized small missiles shot directly at the commando members standing on the Statue of Liberty, leaving white trails behind them.
"Damn it, those guys are meddling again,"
The red robe behind a commando member wearing a red battle robe suddenly swelled up, lightly wrapping the incoming missiles in the robe and then shooting them into the river at the foot of the Statue of Liberty.
Continuous explosions echoed dully in the river, and the broken bodies of several carp slowly floated to the surface.
The immigrants who were being driven away by the soldiers became even more panicked at this sight, shouting and forcibly squeezing out in all directions. Many people were unable to withstand the enormous impact of the crowd and were trampled, their screams drowned out by the panicked shrieks.
But those 'heroes' didn't care. They looked at the superhumans suspended in the air, wearing red alloy battle armor with several mechanical tentacles like spider legs on their backs, with wary expressions.
"You've crossed the line, Commando. This is not an area your authority can govern," the leader of this newly arrived group of superheroes said, his voice transmitted from under the mechanical battle armor.
"Get out of our territory, or we will consider it an act of war by the Commando against us!"
The two superhuman organizations clashed after a tense standoff. Even though the crowd had tried their best to dodge, there were still unfortunate individuals who were affected by the conflict between the two sides.
These superhumans recklessly used their powers in the city, disregarding whether the energy beams from their hands and the flames spewing from their mechanical battle armor would harm innocent civilians.
Small missiles exploded in the city, like a hasty skirmish on a war front.
Just as the people were gradually losing hope, the former gods of justice suddenly descended from the clouds.
Those superheroes of the Justice League returned from the sky. The Son of Tomorrow, clad in a blue and red battle robe, broke the sound barrier with simple speed, directly knocking the leader of the Commando down from mid-air with a violent sonic boom.
"Power is not something you use to abuse the weak," Superman's deep voice rang out.
The Flash, who possessed the Speed Force, reappeared in the world, his voice unable to keep up with his speed.
"One bad guy, two bad guys, three bad guys..."
The ghostly speed was like a golden lightning bolt darting through the crowd, instantly felling dozens of soldiers wielding guns.
Summoned by Superman, Green Lantern, returning to Earth from the Emerald Fortress above the planet, instantly transformed the light in his hand into dozens of tentacle-like ropes, binding all the firing battle armor in the sky.
"Be good, or you'll get a spanking!"
One by one, the heroes of the Justice League quelled the conflict with overwhelming force, and then began to methodically rescue the civilians in distress.
All the people were grateful for the help they received at this moment, and amazed by the return of the Justice League.
The crowds rushed to tell each other, surrounding the heroes of the Justice League, their faces red with excitement, seeming to have many questions they wanted to ask these heroes.
And Superman seemed to have the intention to sincerely talk with this world.
Although he still couldn't make up his mind to fulfill the great goal mentioned by Emperor Gog-Mollra, the task of correcting the chaos of these new generation superhumans, which must be done, had firmly taken root in his heart.
Superman had decided that after correcting the chaotic situation of these new era superhumans and rebuilding the superhuman order, he would lead these superhumans to study together whether to help Emperor Gog-Mollra revive.
Although he respected the personal charisma of Emperor Gog-Mollra, Superman, as a middle-aged man, would not simply trust the other party.
After all, that seven-headed, ten-horned red dragon certainly possessed the power to destroy the entire Earth. Faced with the survival of the entire homeland, Superman couldn't help but be cautious.
Superman called the news media on the periphery to gather at the entrance of the United Nations Building, and then led the heroes of the Justice League to make their collective appearance for the first time in more than a decade.
The surging crowd even overwhelmed the soldiers holding guns to maintain order, causing them to retreat repeatedly until they retreated to the steps at the feet of the heroes of the Justice League before stopping.
Superman, as the leader and giant of the Justice League, and also the most well-known figure to the public, went straight to the point.
"The decade or so that the League and I abandoned the world is a past that I can't bear to look back on,"
Superman said calmly and sternly: "The superhumans of the new era have risen during this period, but they do not respect life, abuse their abilities, and ignore responsibility."
"The return of the Justice League and I is to tell them what true truth and justice are. If they are unwilling, I will not hesitate to use force directly!"
"My companions and I will set things right and rebuild the order of superhumans!"
Wonder Woman, Princess Diana of Paradise Island, was an absolute supporter who actively awakened Superman's heart of abandoning the world, and Superman's decision was also approved by this iron-blooded princess.
All the heroes of the Justice League present stood up and publicly supported Superman's decision.
But inside the United Nations Building, those temporarily gathered rulers were whispering to each other, and a silent fear permeated the room.
This emotion stemmed from their realization that they were no longer the masters of humanity after Superman and the Justice League returned to the world.
Even the crisis of Earth's destruction seemed less profound than the crisis that Superman and the Justice League brought to these rulers.
Besides the rulers in this United Nations building, there was also a secret organization that had temporarily gathered in a spacious conference room because of the decisions of Superman and the Justice League.
In the eyes of those heroes, everyone seated in the conference room were notorious villains of renown, both at home and abroad.
Among them, sitting in the main seat of the conference room, occupying the position of the mastermind, was Lex Luthor, the true controller of LexCorp and Superman's nemesis.
To Lex Luthor's left were Vandal Savage, King of Spades, and Naja-Lord, in that order.
To his right were Edward Nygma, Selina Kyle, and Ibn al Ghul, the heir of the assassin master Ra's al Ghul.
These notorious villains formed an organization called the 'Human Liberation Front,' which enlisted and controlled eight percent of the world's superhumans. The villains present were only a portion of the 'Human Liberation Front' organization.

During the decade or so when Superman and the Justice League were absent, this so-called 'Human Liberation Front' had been secretly provoking the already tense relationship between ordinary humans and superhumans.
Their ultimate goal was to force the ruling class to abandon the idea of treating superhumans as members of humanity, and instead collectively purge them, thereby achieving humanity's collective liberation and regaining self-mastery.
"The return of that Kryptonian and the reassembly of the Justice League have disrupted our plans," Lex Luthor said.
Lex Luthor tapped his thick fingers lightly on the smooth tabletop, his gaze fixed on his companions, all clever and cunning villains.
"Although the celestial meteor about to destroy Earth has also disrupted our plans, that celestial meteor and those creatures are dead, unchangeable, so we can exploit them."
"But Superman is alive, and those Justice League guys are alive too. We should discuss a better strategy."
Ibn al Ghul, the heir of the assassin master, nodded in agreement, saying, "The return of the Kryptonian may ruin our years of operation and turn it into a bubble. We cannot continue to allow the Kryptonian and the Justice League to disrupt our plans."
"Then what should we do? We can't directly confront Superman," Catwoman Selina stretched her beautiful body curves lazily, but her words couldn't hide her helplessness.
Everyone present showed a look of dread, no matter how clever they were, no one could help but fear the Justice League, especially the power of the Kryptonian.
Lex Luthor's thinking could always adapt to the situation, which was why this seemingly ordinary bald man could become the mastermind of the 'Human Liberation Front'.
"The power we currently possess is not enough to directly confront the Kryptonian and the Justice League, but we can use the Justice League to further intensify the conflict between humans and superhumans," Lex Luthor said.
"Ideally, we could force all human rulers to make a decision to push those superhumans to the front lines of the Earth's destruction crisis, and let those superhumans directly confront the crisis."
The old bald man still hadn't changed his youthful temper, he spat and cursed, "It's best if that alien bastard, that Kryptonian scum, dies in this crisis too."
"Don't worry, I will formulate a plan to counter that Kryptonian mongrel. When the time comes, I will need you to cooperate with my plan."
Lex Luthor stood up and introduced to his villainous companions the young man who had been standing behind him, wearing a well-tailored red suit, with a tall and sturdy figure.
"Everyone, you don't need to be overly concerned about the power of that Kryptonian mongrel. This man behind me is the divine messenger who controls lightning and thunder."
There may be absolutely secret places in the world, but in the realm of humanity, there are very few places that can claim absolute secrecy from Batman.
In the dark Batcave, the middle-aged Batman calmly watched the screens flashing images in the central control room, which showed the gathering of the 'Human Liberation Front' led by Lex Luthor.
Even though Batman was in a state of retirement, he had been monitoring the movements of superhumans and the hidden forces behind them. The intricate relationships were more complex than imagined.
Especially with Earth facing a crisis of destruction, Bruce Wayne's Wayne Enterprises was also involved in the alliance of those people, becoming a part of it.
For the sake of concealment, there was no sound coming from the images on these screens, but Batman could deduce the content of their conversations through the lip movements of Lex Luthor and the other villains. Lip reading was just a minor skill among Batman's many abilities.
Beside Batman, there was also his own team.
Green Arrow Oliver, Black Canary Dinah, and Blue Beetle Ted Kord, these old friends from the Justice League who had not chosen to return, were all members of the team formed by Batman—the 'Outsiders'.
"The Justice League will sooner or later stir up unforeseen chaos," Bruce Wayne's unique voice sounded.
"Clark hasn't realized what kind of world he's facing. He's in the game and can't see the direction of things clearly, he has become a struggling fish in the net."
"We Outsiders must plan carefully and then act, we can't treat the world as crudely as Clark does."
Blue Beetle Ted Kord looked at the pensive Green Arrow Oliver, and turned to ask, "Then that legendary angel, do we believe what he said?"
Bruce Wayne was silent for a moment, then slowly said, "Even if he temporarily convinced me and gained a little of my trust, I would never entrust my fate to someone else."
"Just like the order of humanity should not be handed over to Clark alone,"
Bruce Wayne turned his head and looked at his companions, "We need to prepare more. The magic array that the angel taught us needs to be studied by a professional magic master. If there are no problems, we can use it as a backup option."
"In any case, we should not regard resurrecting the angel as our first choice. I just hope that Clark will not be as naive as before, thinking that the world can be changed through crude methods."
"This matter can only be achieved through the transformation of humans themselves, and it will take a long time to be stable enough."
