Unseal at Hogwarts
Chapter 14 Sorting, always so nervous
Tom felt his heart sink into his stomach.
He became increasingly worried about his situation.
What should he do if the school thinks he is an illegal intruder?
The worst thing is that even if he is sent back, he doesn't know how he will return to his parents.
Even if he finds his way home, where can he go if his parents already have a Tom by their side?
But now he could no longer think too much about it.
Professor McGonagall took over the task of guiding the new students, pushed open the castle door, and led them inside.
Tom's ears were ringing, and he had no idea what Professor McGonagall said.
Dozens of pearl-white ghosts flew over their heads, which made Tom even more nervous.
"Are you OK?"
Harry next to him noticed Tom's uneasiness and asked concernedly.
"I'm scared." Tom's eyes flashed with water.
No matter how smart and steady he is, it's because he knows that his parents are always standing behind him.
This was the first time he encountered such a situation: his parents didn't know where they were, he had inexplicably arrived a few years ago, and the only remaining person who could become his spiritual support, Kerubelos, didn't know where he was sent.
Harry held Tom's hand and patted Tom's shoulder comfortingly: "Don't worry, I'm with you."
But Tom still couldn't calm down.
He was pulled by Harry like a puppet on strings, and followed the crowd to the auditorium.
The magical roof of the auditorium, the floating candles, and the singing pointed hat all made him even more nervous.
He was so nervous that he didn't see Professor McGonagall's surprised expression when she unfolded the list of new students.
"Tom Cooper!"
Tom raised his head suddenly, and the excessive force caused a sharp pain in his neck. The pain made him wake up a little.
Harry pushed him beside him: "Professor McGonagall is calling you."
Tom saw Professor McGonagall looking at him seriously, and everyone in the auditorium was looking at him intently.
Tom thought he was going to be sent back.
He staggered a few steps and carefully moved in front of Professor McGonagall.
"Please sit on the stool," said Professor McGonagall.
Tom sat up stiffly, his heartbeat so loud that almost everyone could hear it.
He felt Professor McGonagall put something on his head, and his eyes suddenly went dark.
"Don't be nervous, don't be nervous, my boy." A voice suddenly sounded in Tom's mind, "You are indeed a student of Hogwarts. We were not mistaken."
"Who are you?" Tom became alert.
The book says that when another voice suddenly appears in your heart one day, you are likely to suffer from mental illness and need to see a psychiatrist.
It really happened that the house leaked and it rained all night. I still haven't figured out my situation yet, and I actually suffered from mental illness because I was too nervous and worried.
Tom's fingers clenched tightly on the edge of the bench, and his heart was about to collapse.
"Oh, my child," the voice sounded a little dumbfounded, "this is Hogwarts, and anything is possible in the wizarding world. You are not suffering from mental illness, I am just an ordinary Sorting Hat."
"Sorting Hat?" Tom's fingers relaxed a little.
"Yes," the Sorting Hat explained, "I am responsible for listening to the inner voices of the newly admitted children to decide which house they will be assigned to."
In the auditorium, all the students could not help but whisper when they saw that the first freshman to participate in the sorting had kept the Sorting Hat silent for so long.
The murmur of the discussion reached Harry who was waiting aside, and he began to worry about his first friend.
"He's just a Mudblood. Wouldn't it be better to just assign him to Hufflepuff?"
Harry heard Malfoy not far away sneering and talking to his big follower, and several children around him made unkind jeers.
Harry was very angry and turned back to glare at Malfoy.
"Slytherin!" the Sorting Hat shouted the result.
The entire auditorium was eerily silent for a moment. Before he could turn around, Harry noticed that the expression on Malfoy's face seemed to be frozen.
Tom took off the sorting hat, smiled weakly at Professor McGonagall, waved to Harry, then straightened his somewhat messy robes, and walked elegantly towards the Slytherin table.
Discussions resounded in the auditorium again.
Harry found that the expressions of the people on the Slytherin table were not very good.
But he also knew that, just like Tom said, just because there is a heinous person in one college, it does not mean that the whole college is like this.
The sorting process was still going on, and the arrogant Malfoy was sorted into Slytherin before the sorting hat even touched his hair.
Ron Weasley, the red-haired boy whom they met on the train, Neville Longbottom, who lost his toad, and Hermione Granger, who spoke like a firecracker, were sorted into Gryffindor.
Harry began to look forward to which house he would be sorted into.
Tom sat on the long Slytherin table with a dignified posture, ignoring the unkind looks from his classmates.
Draco Malfoy sat next to him, glanced at him maliciously, and turned away.
Tom knew that this was a common problem among children in aristocratic circles, and he didn't care.
He finally had the energy to take a good look around.
At the front of the auditorium sat all the professors in Hogwarts.
The Chocolate Frog card shows Albus Dumbledore sitting in the center.
Hagrid, who led the first-year students to the castle, was sitting in the corner, but his huge body was particularly eye-catching.
Sitting on a seat near the Slytherin table was a hook-nosed professor with greasy hair.
Next to this professor is a timid professor wearing a thick turban on his head.
Not far away, there was a short professor smiling at him.
Even though Marcus and Tom had said "you can't judge a book by its cover", Tom was worried about his magic learning at this time.
There were fewer and fewer children waiting to be sorted, and finally Harry was the only one left.
Professor McGonagall finally called Harry's name, and all the children poked their heads in and stared at Harry.
Tom couldn't help but laugh when he saw Harry walking up to Professor McGonagall.
Amid everyone's expectations, the Sorting Hat on Harry's head finally shouted "Slytherin".
All of a sudden, the whole auditorium seemed to explode.
The face of Malfoy next to Tom was very wonderful: the corners of his mouth were twisted, as if they were going up or down; his light eyebrows were raised so high that they almost flew into his smooth and big back.
The Gryffindor table was the most emotional.
They looked indignant and roared angrily, and some even wanted to rush over and give Harry a good beating.
Tom was keenly aware that the mood of Albus Dumbledore in the middle of the professor's chair was not as good as before.
