Unseal at Hogwarts
Chapter 4 The Wand
Professor McGonagall glanced at Kerubelos and replied affirmatively: "Of course, Mr. Cooper."
Marcus and Cynthia understand that Tom has decided to attend Hogwarts.
So, Marcus drove and the group arrived at the address mentioned by Professor McGonagall.
After getting off the bus, Professor McGonagall led Tom's family and Crouberus into the Leaky Cauldron.
Professor McGonagall briefly introduced Diagon Alley to Tom. After nodding to Tom, the owner of the Leaky Cauldron, he led Tom and the others into Diagon Alley from the backyard of the bar.
Even though Hogwarts is not on summer vacation yet, there are still people coming and going in Diagon Alley.
Tom and Kerberos' eyes were almost glued to the shops on both sides of the road, making Professor McGonagall, who had been observing them secretly, couldn't help but smile.
"First of all, you have to go to Gringotts to exchange Muggle currency into magical currency." Professor McGonagall said.
The group followed Professor McGonagall to Gringotts.
At the door, a goblin wearing a scarlet and gold uniform immediately led Tom and his family to the hall. Professor McGonagall stood waiting politely at the door and did not follow.
In the hall, hundreds of goblins were sitting and busy behind the tall counters.
"At your service, madam." A goblin saluted Cynthia.
"We need to exchange some currency," Cynthia said, "and at the same time, open a vault for my son Tom."
The goblin respectfully led them to the front desk. After some busy work, he changed the Muggle coins handed by Cynthia into a bag of magic currency and handed Cynthia an ancient key.
Cynthia handed the key and the bag of coins to Tom: "Put it away. This vault is your pocket money. You can use it yourself."
Tom took it and asked curiously: "Mom, how do you know that a vault can be opened here? Professor McGonagall seems to have only said that the currency should be converted into magic currency."
"Mom, although I don't know anything about the magical world, I still know about fairies." Cynthia said with a smile, holding Marcus in her arms.
Marcus nodded slightly in agreement: "Yes, as long as there are goblins, you can definitely open a vault."
is that so?
Tom and Kerubelos looked at each other in confusion.
Did it turn out that his knowledge was too poor?
He took Crobelos with him, followed his parents quickly, and walked out of Gringotts.
Professor McGonagall takes them along Diagon Alley to buy things Tom needs for school.
When they were buying textbooks at Flourish and Blotts, Tom also sought Professor McGonagall's advice and bought a few extra books for his extracurricular reading.
When I passed by the Florin Fusco ice cream shop in Corubalos, I was immediately attracted by the delicious ice cream.
The three adults watched Tom buy five portions of ice cream almost dotingly, and even the unsmiling Professor McGonagall accepted the ice cream that Tom handed her.
Keruberos ate his share of the ice cream in one bite. Tom looked at Keluberos' longing eyes, sighed, and fed Keruberos the ice cream he had only eaten a few mouthfuls of.
Bellows.
After eating ice cream, Professor McGonagall took Tom and the others to an inconspicuous shop in Diagon Alley.
"The only thing left that I haven't bought yet is your wand." Professor McGonagall said, "Ollivander is an excellent wand maker, and you can always find the wand that suits you best here."
But Ruberos looked at the shabby, small, dusty wand shop and curled his lips in disgust.
Professor McGonagall pushed open the door of the shabby wand shop and let Tom walk in.
The store was too small, so Marcus, Cynthia and Kerubelos simply waited in front of the store.
"Welcome, welcome." An old voice sounded out of nowhere in the deserted shop, "It's another new little wizard."
Probably Tom has adapted to the various magical phenomena in the wizarding world, and he was not surprised when he saw a thin, stooped old man suddenly appear.
"Good afternoon, Ollivander," said Professor McGonagall.
"It's really rare," Ollivander's tone was no longer so erratic, "I haven't seen you as a Muggle wizard's guide for a long time."
"You know," Professor McGonagall explained, "the other professors have a lot of things to do."
Ollivander didn't bother much about this, at least he looked at Tom: "Are you right-handed or left-handed?"
"Right hand," said Tom.
Ollivander turned around and got into the piles of wand boxes, muttering something in his mouth.
On the old wooden table, a tape measure jumped to Tom's right side, and he dutifully measured Tom's physical data.
Tom, who had already experienced the magical measuring tape in Mrs. Malkin's shop, stretched out his arm and let it measure without changing his expression.
Professor McGonagall stood aside with her arms folded. Marcus and Cynthia at the door looked at the scene in the store calmly.
But Ruberos came out of the store and poked his big head in with a look of disgust on his face.
Ollivander quickly pulled out a box of wands from a pile of wand boxes: "Try this, twelve inches, poplar wood, dragon heartstring, a very powerful wand."
Tom's two fingers touched the wand when Ollivander snatched it away.
"No, no," he said, taking out a wand from another shelf, "Eleven inches, willow, unicorn hair."
Tom took it.
This time, the wand stayed in Tom's hand a little longer.
But it only took a few seconds for the wand to be taken away by Ollivander again.
"Ten inches, mahogany, unicorn hair."
Tom waved his wand and brought out a crackling spark.
"Ten and three-quarter inches, elm, unicorn hair—apparently a wand with a unicorn hair core is perfect for you."
Tom waved, and the small wand shop burst into dazzling white light.
"Very close, very close," said Ollivander.
His hunched body, as thin as a dead branch, pointed at the wand box on the shelf.
"Eleven and a quarter inches, English oak, unicorn hair."
This time, the wand sprayed out colorful lights.
But Ruberos sneezed loudly.
There was almost no change in Professor McGonagall's expression.
Marcus and Cynthia, who were enthusiastic at the beginning, became a little impatient.
"I know," Ollivander clapped his hands and replaced the wand in Tom's hand with a wand, "it must be this one. Eleven and one-half inches, silver-haired basswood, unicorn hair
