Unseal at Hogwarts
Chapter 22 The Delegation Arrives
Harry rolled his eyes and remained silent.
It was getting darker and darker, and it was getting colder and colder outside the castle.
The students couldn't help but stand closer, trying to absorb some warmth from the people around them.
Waiting in the cold darkness always wears down one's patience.
Tom secretly shifted his weight to his left foot to rest his swollen and sore right foot.
He glanced around with the corners of his eyes, and found strangely that even the most uncertain Gryffindor was still in a high and excited mood, looking around the night with shining eyes.
Tom was a little confused and glanced at Harry and Malfoy beside him.
Harry's state could be said to be exactly the same as that of Gryffindor, while Malfoy, who had changed from his usual pale and frail image, stood up straight with his head held high like a peacock in full bloom.
Tom looked away, patiently continuing to wait.
Suddenly, Tom's ears caught an unusual movement.
A dull-sounding rumble came from the Black Lake.
The crowd began to commotion.
A Gryffindor student shouted: "In the lake!"
Suddenly, Black Lake became the center of attention.
Harry tightened his grip on Tom's cloak in excitement. Tom pulled at it but failed to pull it away.
The calm black lake suddenly turned up into huge waves, and the water waves hit the wet land beside the lake like wild beasts.
The students took a few steps back in unison.
With the sound of waves crashing, a huge whirlpool appeared in the center of the lake, as if someone had pulled a huge plug out of the bottom of the lake.
The students stared at the vortex, and even Tom couldn't move his eyes away.
A long black pole rose from the whirlpool.
Before the students had time to exclaim, a majestic ship emerged from the lake.
"It's so impressive!" Tom praised from the bottom of his heart.
When the Durmstrang delegation stepped off the ship, almost all Slytherin's eyes were attracted.
"He will definitely come, right?"
Tom heard Blaise ask Malfoy in a low voice.
"According to accurate information, yes, he will come." This was Malfoy's answer.
who?
Tom was confused.
But Harry next to him looked even more excited.
He looked left and right, even having to stand on tiptoes due to his height, and his eyes swept around the Durmstrang delegation like a radar.
"What are you looking for, Harry?"
"Krum!" Harry answered absentmindedly, putting a hand on Tom's shoulder and trying to stand on tiptoes - if Professor Snape hadn't been watching, Tom could guarantee that Harry even wanted to jump.
"Who is Krum?"
Malfoy next to him took a breath and stared at Tom in disbelief.
"You don't know Viktor Krum?!"
Malfoy didn't even bother to show off his usual elegance.
Tom rolled his eyes mentally.
"I must know?"
"You don't even know the name of Viktor Krum, one of the best seekers in the world?" Malfoy's eyes widened and he glanced up and down at Tom unceremoniously, "
That's right, after all, you can't experience the charm of Quidditch at all."
Tom simply ignored him.
When an extraordinarily tall boy from the Durmstrang delegation was called to Dumbledore by Durmstrang's principal, Karkaroff, the crowd went wild.
When the students entered the auditorium one after another and sat down, Malfoy had already actively asked the Slytherins to move their seats so that the long table would be free.
Tom noticed that the Beauxbatons delegation had already sat down at the Ravenclaw table.
The Durmstrang delegation hesitated in the foyer for a while, and then all walked towards the Slytherin table.
Harry's face turned red with excitement.
He grabbed Tom's wrist tightly and begged Tom to change seats with him - Tom's position was very close to the vacant seat.
Tom readily agreed.
He believed that if he didn't agree, he might be tortured by Harry and unable to sleep tonight.
When Viktor Krum sat down next to Malfoy, Tom could almost see the word "satisfied" on Malfoy's face.
While listening to the Slytherins talking to the Durmstrang delegation, he looked around the auditorium.
You know, what happened in the book described by Natalia Bova only ends at the point when the arrival time of the two delegations is clear. No one knows what will happen next.
In order for himself to study at Hogwarts with peace of mind, and for Harry's life, he must remain vigilant.
Soon, Tom keenly discovered that the administrator Filch was wearing an old tuxedo with some mildew spots and had added two chairs on both sides of Professor Dumbledore's seat.
Tom speculated that two of them were for the principals of the two new delegations arriving today, but what about the other two?
Tom frowned.
After Professor Dumbledore, Mrs. Maxim and Principal Karkaroff took their seats at the staff table, Professor Dumbledore announced that the Triwizard Tournament would officially begin after the banquet.
This made the atmosphere in the auditorium even more lively.
About half an hour after the banquet started, Tom discovered that the two empty chairs next to Dumbledore had been filled by two strange men.
One of the men looked strong and muscular, making Tom believe without hesitation that he was just a weakling in front of him.
He looks harmless in appearance, with short blond hair, a youthful and healthy rosy complexion, and round blue eyes. He looks like a big, strong boy.
The other man sitting next to Madame Maxime looked very upright.
He had his hair neatly parted, the short beard on his face was neatly trimmed, and his face looked a little haggard.
Tom didn't know who the two men who arrived halfway were, but he speculated that maybe after the banquet, Professor Dumbledore would introduce them to them--those who would enter Hogwarts at this time, except for the Triwizard Tournament.
For those involved, there should be no other possibility.
The lively banquet was finally over, and Professor Dumbledore happily introduced two people from the Ministry of Magic in a tense and exciting atmosphere that filled the entire auditorium.
The muscular man, Ludo Bagman, Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Magic, won warm applause for himself, while the upright man, Barty Crouch, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Magic, said:
There was no reaction at all to Professor Dumbledore's introduction, which also made the applause in the auditorium become sparse.
Afterwards, Professor Dumbledore explained the rules of the Triwizard Tournament in detail, and tapped the box that Filch carefully placed in front of him with his wand.
The lid of the box slowly opened, and Professor Dumbledore took out a crudely carved wooden goblet from the box.
The cup is very inconspicuous. Even Tom cannot unconscionably say that this wooden cup is beautiful.
However, the blue-white flame dancing in the cup can attract everyone's attention.
