Then the seeds of Geisha were sent to the Coffee Research Institute in Kenya and introduced to Uganda and Tanzania in 1936, Costa Rica in 1953, and Panama in the 1970s by Mr. Francisco Serraxin of Dongba Seven Farm, from In Costa Rica, they were given seeds and then started planting Geisha coffee.

Because the yield of Gesha coffee is extremely low and it requires bidding, this bean can be said to be hard-won.

In 1931, the unknown Gesha was exported from the Gesha Mountains in southwestern Ethiopia to Kenya, and traveled to Tanzania and Costa Rica. In the 1960s, it was transplanted to Panama. After that, it took nearly half a century to become a blockbuster, defeating the ever-victorious teams of Bourbon and Qatar. Varieties such as Dura, Caduai, and Tibica won the first prize in the Panama National Treasure Bean Cupping Competition in 2005, 2006, and 2007.

In 2007, Geisha won the championship again in the International Famous Bean Cup competition hosted by the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SPECIAL COFFEE ASSOCIATION), with a bidding price of US$130 per pound, setting a record for the highest price ever for competition beans.

Geisha is grown in many parts of the world and is the new king of specialty coffee. Among them, Latin American countries such as Panama, Guatemala, and Colombia have relatively high quality and high prices.
