Chapter 236 A bold idea

At 10 o'clock that morning, Zhang Ming arrived over Rome, Italy.

Looking down at Rome from the airplane window, the most conspicuous thing is the Colosseum, which has a history of 1,900 years. The oval ancient buildings represent the historical heritage of the city.

"It's there." Colson pointed to a mansion in the suburbs, and the blackened villa was particularly eye-catching.

"A total of thirty-nine bodies were found in the villa, including 19 bodyguards, eleven maids, one housekeeper, and eight members of the Sbitvagan family. They were all killed with a knife in their throats." Ward handed over the printed information.

When Zhang Ming opened the folder, the first thing that caught his eyes was the photos of the corpses. Looking at the unrecognizable corpses, thanks to the agents of SHIELD, they were able to distinguish their injuries from this pile of human-shaped coke.

“Is there any financial loss?”

"No. The agents found a large number of burnt jewelry and artworks in the villa, each of which was of high value and the murderer did not take a single item."

"Is it true that the superpowers did it?" Zhang Ming closed the information, "A trained professional killer team should be able to do this level."

Colson shook his head and said, "I have considered this possibility, but there was an eyewitness at the scene."

"Did the murderer leave a living?"

"Spitterwagen's youngest son, seven-year-old Tommy, had been hiding in the closet to play games last night, and then fell asleep. When he woke up, he witnessed the entire process of killing his parents through the gap in the closet."

"But how did he escape from the fire?" Zhang Ming asked.

"After the murderer left, he jumped out of the back window, ran into the fountain, and survived by the water inside."

Colson sighed, "It was the firefighters who discovered him. He was already unconscious at that time. The police said that the first thing Tommy said when she woke up was 'that manipulating the flames'. According to Tommy, the murderer could split the flames in a way. He was like a demon, even the flames were afraid of him."

Zhang Mingbao was skeptical about the testimony of the children, but he did not investigate the issue in depth. He clicked on the corpse photos, and he concluded:

"A super killer who is proficient in assassination and can use flame abilities...so, is this a murder case for buying a murder?"

"No." Colson denied: "Tommy said the murderer was not to kill people. The murderer questioned the Sbit Wagen and his wife for ten minutes, with the purpose of forcing them to find out the whereabouts of a travelogue. A travelogue written by Mr. Robert, the ancestor of the Sbit Wagen family four centuries ago."

"Just for a travelogue?" Zhang Ming was confused. "Even the most precious cultural relics, it is not enough for a capable person to kill thirty-nine people, right? With the financial resources of the Sbitvagan family, you can spend hundreds of millions of dollars to redeem your life, which is far greater than the value of a cultural relics."

"If the murderer is not a lunatic, then there is only one answer-"

The plane shook slightly, they landed, Colson stood up and finally said:

"That travel book contains an amazing secret that is enough to make people do such crazy actions!"

Zhang Ming understood the meaning behind Colson's words. He refers to the recent incidents of superpower riots, which may be related to this travelogue four hundred years ago.

On the way to Sbitwagen's mansion, Zhang Ming was thinking, but no matter how he activated his imagination, he could not imagine what the relationship between the two was.

With questions, he came to the burnt mansion.

The agents were still trying to find clues, and in the corner of the courtyard, a very delicate and cute little boy was sitting quietly on the steps, holding a picture book in his hand, drawing something with a pencil.

He is the only survivor of the family, Tommy Sbitwagen, the legal heir to a huge commercial empire.

Little Tommy's eyes were still a little swollen, and he was focusing on painting.

Colson went to work with the agents, and Zhang Ming walked to Tommy.

"What are you drawing?" Zhang Mingban squatted down and looked straight with the boy.

Little Tommy turned the drawing board. The painting shows a tall man wearing a long black windbreaker and a mask on his face. The flames licked his feet, but they did not dare to spread.

I have to say that Tommy, who is only 7 years old, has a good painting skills.

"It was him who hurt my family and friends. I wanted to draw him while I still had an impression and return here... to make my memory clearer." Little Tommy said.

It was not a beautiful memory, but this little boy chose to endure this pain in order to avenge his family.

Zhang Ming touched his head and rushed to his mouth with many words of comfort, but he couldn't say a word.

"Zhang Ming!"

Colson's call came from behind.

"Brother, can you catch the murderer?" Little Tommy looked at Zhang Ming, and only a trace of spirit was left in Ming's bright eyes. That was his last hope.

For the young man, his family was everything about him, and now he was gone. His only wish was to bring the murderer to justice.

Zhang Ming said seriously: "Because of the clues you provide, we will definitely catch the murderer and make him pay the price he deserves. Now you should go to rest. Only by staying healthy can you identify the murderer in court, right? A tough guy."

"Yeah." Little Tommy nodded vigorously.

Zhang Ming returned the drawing board to him and walked to Colson.

"Are there any new discoveries?" Zhang Ming asked.

"A local car rental company in Rome just now came here."

Colson pointed to a car parked outside and said, "There was a young guest who rented a car from them yesterday. When he was doing a customer return visit this morning, he found that the customer could not be contacted. So they turned on the vehicle and found that the car had been parked here for a night. After confirming that it was the location of the murder case in the news, the rental company chose to call the police."

"You said the murderer came here by renting a car?" Zhang Ming felt incredible. The murderer's technique was very professional and it was impossible to make such a low-level mistake.

"I know what you're thinking, the murderer is not that stupid. The person who rents a car is our acquaintance." Colson took out a customer profile with Dior Brando's name and his rental time:

23:17.

"Dio arrived in Rome at 22:50 last night. He made an appointment for a car rental service in advance and got the vehicle at the airport at 23:17. According to the positioning records of the car rental company, Dior came here at 0:35 am the next day. According to the distance from the airport, he should not have any stops and rushed over as soon as he arrived in Rome."

"Dio and the murderer should be looking for the same thing - that travelogue." Zhang Ming said.

Colson nodded and added: "The monitoring at the end of the road showed that at 0:45, a fire broke out in the mansion."

Zhang Ming and Colson looked at each other, and all the clues pointed to an answer:

Dior learned the value and clues of the travel notes through some channels, so he rushed from London to Rome overnight and happened to meet the scene of the murderer killing and setting fire.

The information reported by the agents showed that there were no traces of fighting at the scene. It was probably the murderer who got the travel notes first. After discovering Dior, he immediately used his flame ability to set fire and escaped, and Dior chased after him.

But 9 hours have passed since the early morning of last night. If Dior caught the murderer, it would be impossible for him to still be missing...

Zhang Min had an ominous premonition.

He tried to get rid of useless worries, and now the most urgent task is to find the murderer and Dior as soon as possible.

"The biggest difficulty is that the murderers have premeditated actions. Among them are excellent hackers who have invaded the internal surveillance system of the city. Many surveillance images are seriously missing, so we cannot find their traces through surveillance." Colson said.

Is there no other way? Zhang Ming frowned and thought.

"That..." Feiz, who was standing beside him, suddenly raised his hand, "Sir, I have a bold idea."

“How bold.”

Fitz said: "There are many countries in Europe that prohibit dashcams, but it does not include Italy! There are still many vehicles in Rome that have dashcams installed, and most of them are not connected to the Internet, and only store images locally and will not be affected by hackers. We can investigate vehicles that are still driving in downtown Rome from 0:00 to 2:00 a.m., and may get clues from it."

"It's really a bold idea. Do you know how much manpower this will consume?"

Colson breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. "As the proposer of the plan, remember to invite the logistics agents to have coffee."

"This..." Fitz was stunned.

Zhang Ming hugged Feiz's shoulder.

"Don't worry, when you find that London Batman, you will be reimbursed for the coffee money. That's a rich man."
