VRMMORPG: Dragomancer Reborn

119 Firm Boots And A Light Helm

Arthur had finished packing most of his clothes, and minor things by 8 pm. Done with this, he simply ate dinner and lounged around until the Cooldown was over for him.

A notification popped up on Arthur's phone, showing him that he could now enter the game.

"Time to log in." Arthur opened the lid of the Dream Pod V3 and got in.

With the flash of colors, Arthur arrived at the inn that he had left before.

"Let's get to work," Arthur said before picking up his rucksack and leaving the inn.

His first destination today was the Armorer, as he wished to get some new armor pieces today.

"Hmm… the guard presence seems higher today." Arthur noticed as he walked around.

There were more guards patrolling than before, and some of the NPCs also seemed to be a bit tense.

'Did something happen in these two days?' Arthur wondered.

Considering the changes from his past life, Arthur reckoned it could have been more infiltrations by the bandits.

"Guess I'll just ask the NPCs." Lin Mu muttered as he arrived at the Armorer's shop.

There the man was polishing a shield and had a pile of them laying next to him.

"Can I buy some armor and get mine repaired, too?" Arthur asked the man.

The armorer looked up and spotted the familiar face.

"Ah, you're back. Took you a while. I thought you left." The Armorer remembered him.

"Not for long," Arthur replied. "Can I take a look at your wares?" He inquired.

"Show me what you wanna get fixed first." The armorer asked.

"What I'm wearing basically." Arthur replied.

"Hmm… remove them so I can take a closer look." The man said.

A few seconds later, Arthur unequipped the items and placed them on the table.

Arthur glanced at the stats of the armor and saw the fallen durability. While had avoided head-on conflicts for the most part, there were still hits he had taken.

Then there was the damage that was sustained from other things than enemy attacks like crashing into things, or making contact with other objects. Even actions like rolling or blocking could result in damage to one's armor.

And considering the fact that Arthur had used it quite a lot, it was time for him to repair it already.

Though this was a normal thing for players. Arthur had actually managed to extend it for a couple of days. And even then he hadn't damaged his armor to the point of breaking it.

It was still above 50% duality for all parts and was considered to be still good. Many players wouldn't even think about spending money on repairing their armor until it was below thirty or twenty percent.

That was when the warnings would start appearing.

Though for the newbies, it was something that was difficult to manage. As they would often fall from above fifty to less than ten percent durability in a single conflict if it went bad.

"Fixing this won't be an issue. Just need to patch it up and mend the tears." The armorer replied.

"That's good," Arthur said. "I also want more armor pieces, though."

"Sure, what kind of armor pieces are you looking for today?" The armorer asked.

"I need some good boots that are stable as well as some headgear." Arthur answered.

"Hmm…" the armorer stroked his beard while observing Arthur.

His eyes scanned all over his body and noticed the spear that was attached to his back.

"Since you use a spear, it is important for you to have a balanced stance for optimum power." The Armorer spoke. "At the same time, you need to have a clear view of your opponents, thus a fully enclosed helmet won't be correct for you either." He was analyzing what would suit Arthur.

The man muttered to himself for a minute before deciding.

"Come with me," he said before taking Arthur to one of the shelves. "Take a look at these boots." He picked up a pair of black boots that had dark leather soles on them.

There was also metal padding on it that provided some extra defense.

'Dragon's Insight!' Arthur used the skill.

Looking at the information in front of him Arthur was surprised.

'It actually has a passive skill?' Arthur hadn't expected that.

Most equipment with passive skills like this would be quite difficult to find at the start not to mention expensive. Thus the first question Arthur asked was the cost.

"How much are these?" Arthur questioned.

"Thirty two silvers." The armorer answered.

"Huh?" Arthur was surprised hearing that.

"It is a reasonable price. An adventurer sold them off when he was desperate for money a while back." The Armorer replied.

What the man didn't know was that Arthur wasn't intimidated by the price, rather he was surprised because of how cheap it was.

'Does the man not know about the passive skill?' Arthur wondered.

But then he realized, he didn't really need to care for that.

"I'll take it." All that mattered to Arthur was that he was getting them for a cheaper price.

"Perfect." The armorer was pleased that he didn't need to show around Arthur too much. "Let's take a look at the headgear."

He brought Arthur to another section where all kinds of headgears were kept.

These ranged from fully covered steel helmets to cloth headgear that was only good at protection from the sunlight and temperature. But out of all these, the Armorer showed Arthur three specific ones.

"I'm guessing you do not want something too heavy do you? If so, these will be fine for you." The Armorer replied.

In front of Arthur, there were three headgears of different types.

The first one looked like a simple leather helm that covered the top of his head as well as the sides while leaving the front and back open.

The second headgear was a studded leather helm that was covered on all sides except for the front which was open.

Then there was the third headgear that was the most covered. It was also made out of leather, but had small metal patches that improved defense. It was also covered on the three sides, but on the face, there was an extra component to it.

A layer of chain-mail hung from the front, only leaving enough space for the eyes open. It hid most of the face and provided extra protection.

'Dragon's Insight!' Arthur used the skill.

Arthur used Dragon's Insight on all three helms and quickly saw their information.

'The last one it is.' Arthur quickly picked the third helm as it had the best defense out of them all.

While the others were lighter than this, Arthur didn't mind the slight difference in weight the last helm had. Not to mention, his strength would rise again soon, and the added weight wouldn't matter to him much.

'I definitely need good protection for the head. The chain mail veil in front would also help me hide better.' Arthur thought.

"I'll take the third one." Arthur picked.

"Are you sure? It is a bit heavy and will take you time to get used to." The armorer asked.

"Yeah, it's fine." Arthur nodded his head.

"Very well. It'll be about fifty silver coins then." The armorer stated the cost.

"That will be fine." Arthur didn't mind the price at all.

It was possibly one of the best armor pieces he could get right now. Not to mention he was already getting a good deal due to the boots being cheaper.

If the armorer sold the boots at their full price, they would be at least twice its current price.

"This combined with the cost for repairs, will be about 85 silver coins." The man gave the total cost.
