Before this, Arthur was already wary that the events of the game had been changed. So far they had been mostly benign and manageable.

But now, the death of the Night Slayer was something that would definitely be affecting a lot of things.

'How does he even die already?' Arthur couldn't understand. 'And who was that person with the silver eyes?' He wondered and looked around.

His eyes searched for the silver eyed person but did not see them in their previous location. Even if doing this might have gotten Arthur in trouble, he didn't mind it anymore with how messed up things were becoming.

"Still… even with the interference I've done, there is no way an NPC above level 300 should appear and kill another one in the 200s. Just what did I even do that influenced it?" Arthur couldn't help but question himself.

As far as he could remember, in the first year of the game's launch, the strongest NPC a player would encounter was at level 200. And this wasn't Night Slayer but another high leveled Noble NPC that they could find in the capital city.

Up to that point, it was normal as these NPCs weren't hostile and would not do anything. In fact, players wished to meet them as they gave good quests that they needed to progress in the game.

Night Slayer on the other hand was one of the first naturally hostile NPCs in the 200s that one would encounter. Due to the randomness of his encounter, players didn't fully figure out who he was for a while.

In fact, the first few people that had died to him wouldn't have even known that it was the Night Slayer if not for the notification that had appeared on their death.

This was important, since the Night Slayer had killed them before they had even gotten a look at it.

Only after around ten players has died to it had they seen the appearance of the man for the first time. And sure as hell, it was quite scary to them.

The debuffs that came with his attacks made it even worse as they didn't even fade after death. Only by using high ranked dispel spells or by taking blessings from the churches of the Gods would one be able to remove it.

Both of these were hard to get, and the latter could get expensive if it happened multiple times.

As such, players simply chose to run away when they saw the Night Slayer.

And now, there was no such Nightmare in the game.

"Wait… the quests… the quest for the Midnight Hunt and the Kidnapping of the minister! They're no more!" Arthur exclaimed while holding his head.

Those two were big quests that had occurred due to the influence of the Night Slayer.

The first quest was an annual hunting completion that happened at night. In this, players would almost always encounter the Night Slayer.

But this time around, they would have the chance to avoid him with better chance. The Night Slayer was one of the threatening enemies that they absolutely needed to avoid during the hunt which made the quest difficult.

Then the second quest was something that was a misunderstanding caused by the Night Slayer.

A bunch of mercenaries had kidnapped a minister of the Kingdom when he was traveling on his carriage. The same mercenaries suddenly disappear and the kingdom is unable to find them or the minister.

They think that this was the work of some great mercenaries or those that had amazing skills.

Players get this quest to search and investigate the kidnapping and eventually learn that the cause of the minister and the mercenaries' disappearance was entirely different.

In fact, the mercenaries had barely gotten to kidnap the minister and were running away when they stumbled upon the Night Slayer and got themselves as well as the minister killed.

Due to the Night Slayers' unique skill, not even a full corpse was left behind hence making the quest so hard to investigate.

This incident was one of the reasons why the entirety of the Kingdom had started to consider the Night Slayer as an enemy. So far he was just a random wandering individual with only some having the full knowledge about him.

But now, these two important quests would probably not be happening.

'The Kidnapping of the Minister was important as it offered one the chance to finding clues to an Ancient Dragon's tomb. And the Midnight Hunt had one of the rewards which was good for permanently improving one's stats.' Arthur thought about what he would be missing out on.

~huu~

He worried over it for a couple of minutes before letting out a breath.

"No use worrying over it. Even if the NPC behind it has disappeared, there might still be another route. This is Morpheus Online after all, there are multiple methods of completing or triggering a quest." Arthur assured himself.

After he calmed down, he reassessed his situation. He wasn't fully free of danger after all. He looked around and ensured that there were no enemies near him.

"I still need to find a way ahead." Arthur muttered and looked for a path.

The mountain path had collapsed due to the magical spells, but Arthur still managed to find a narrow path that was jutting out of the side of the mountain.

~whistle~

"Man that's small…" Arthur looked at the foot space that was barely four inches.

He had almost missed it since it was hugging the side of the mountain curve. Arthur would barely be able to stand on such a narrow space and would fall down if he missed a step or lost his balance.

~slap~slap~

Arthur slapped his face and pepped himself up.

"Its not like I haven't done such climbs before. I can do it!" he encouraged himself and went ahead.

He first gripped the side of the mountain, using one of the many holes that had been formed due to the fireballs as handhold before taking a step.
