Warhammer: Return of the Dragon

Chapter 1371 Confusing Intelligence

The elves always appear at the "right" time. This is the lesson Victor has learned in recent years. You can never judge what these elusive pointed ears are thinking.

After punching the warhorn's head, Victor stood proudly beside the headless corpse, and looked around at the beastmen with only one remaining eye.

Wherever he looked, the beasts, whose souls were full of killing desire, seemed to have great fear in their hearts.

Standing there was not a thin blood-eating thing, but... light.

The five little strong men did not choose to chase the beastmen who scattered like birds and beasts. Of course, it was mainly because Victor thought that there were risks in chasing rashly. He was not familiar with this place. Who the hell knew why the beastmen were near Montforge.

But someone had already completed this task for him. The elves who came on the dragon, with endless laughter and jokes, used the dragon spear as a fish hook, and swooped down to the ground again and again like water, and then pierced the heads of the prey.

Flame Knights... Why are they here?

From a distance, Victor could still see the elves wearing golden dragon armor on the back of the Silver Moon Dragon. This ostentatious decoration style fully demonstrated their confidence in themselves and that they did not mind becoming the focus of the enemy on the battlefield.

When Kerillian also stared at the back of the dragon in the sky in the distance and walked to Victor's side to check the body of the warhorn, the witch hunter stood with his arms folded, not showing any gratitude for the help of the ranger just now.

Victor was keenly aware of some situations, especially those of the accompanying elves.

"You're hiding something, elf."

"So you think I lured the beastmen to attack?"

"No..." Victor pointed to the giant beast in the distance and said, "In the three-way melee zone, is Athel Loren fighting against the beastmen or for Bretonnia? This is Montforge, separated from Athel Loren by the Principality of Paraon. Why did the Dragon Prince appear?"

"You can ask those arrogant Caledor high elves yourself. I hope you can really have a good chat with the Phoenix King as you boasted before."

After cutting off a section of the horn of the warhorn, Kerillian looked down on Victor with disdain. Does he really think that the empire can know everything in the southern land?

"If necessary, I will..."

Just as the witch hunter was about to end the end and take the four idiots to continue Lona's mission, the dragon actually stopped teasing the beastmen and flew towards the location of the five little strong men.

Victor looked up at the flying dragon with an expressionless face, and the huge mouth full of fangs, as if it would fall down with a breath if he didn't say some compliments.

"What wind blew you to Bretonnia, Victor."

"That's what I want to ask, Bocaqili."

The dragon didn't spit out breath. After landing on the ground, the threatening movement quickly stopped, and the Flame Knight quickly came to Victor.

The court swordsman first looked at Kerillian with a little surprise. As far as he knew, the rangers of Asrai seemed to be busy with some... not so good things, and these lonely green springtails were accompanied by humans, which seemed a bit absurd.

"Asrai? I thought you were all busy dealing with Morgul."

"I don't need to report to you. This is your promise."

"Of course, I'm not in the mood to pay attention to the situation of an unknown person. Compared to you... I'm more curious about Victor."

The Flame Knight glanced at Victor and found that he seemed to have not changed much. He was still covered in blood.

"You have something to say."

"Why don't you say it first."

The court swordsman laughed. During his time in Altdorf, he had been accompanying Victor in special training ordered by the Phoenix King. His main responsibility was to prevent witch hunters from being killed. They had a good relationship.

"You are curious why I appeared in Bretonnia, and not Paraon."

Victor nodded silently, "I heard some... not very good news about the dispute between the empire and its southern neighbors.

And your appearance made me believe this rumor a little. This is Phoenix..."

"Oh, please, Salzpyre." Bocaqili made an exaggerated gesture and drew a circle with his hands wide open.

"You are a witch hunter, not a military noble like me. My appearance here must have obvious signs, and you can do a lot."

"As for whose order..." The court swordsman glanced at the dragon behind him, "Don't forget that the Flame Knight still retains his original identity in the Dragon Court."

"Caldor?"

"Maybe, your majesty can't issue orders casually."

For a minute, this was Victor's contemplation, and he nodded silently to show that he understood.

"Then again, you have caused me some trouble... This small-scale beastman warband should have set out for the Beast Trail and gathered with the tribe to head towards Athel Loren.

But because you killed the Warhorn, the leaderless beastmen chose to attack the village of Bretonnia, causing me to lose an intelligence clue."

"The Flame Knight will not choose to scout in person, perhaps you are just looking for some fun."

"You really know it, Victor, haha." The court swordsman patted Victor on the shoulder, and then whispered a sentence in his ear: "No matter what order you received, leave Montforge as soon as possible. With your strength, you are not enough to enter the cemetery that is about to emerge."

"Humans and elves?"

"No, it's order and chaos."

Patting the witch hunter's shoulder again, the Flame Knight was not joking. The three-way melee was about to take place, which was by no means comparable to a small-scale encounter in the wild.

"Remember, don't die easily, you still have an important mission."

The departure of the Flame Knight only made Victor frown more, and his guess seemed to be a little wrong.

I thought it was a conspiracy between the emperor and the elves, but the attitude of the Flame Knight seemed to indicate that the empire might not participate, so what was the purpose of their coming to Montforge.

"Short-lived ghost, there are some things you shouldn't consider."

Kerillian's kind reminder only made Victor a little angry, and he emphasized his identity as the captain again.

"Elf, if you interrupt my thoughts, it means that we will be in trouble later. Without my well-thought-out plan, how can we win."

"Then you'd better continue to think about it, waiting for the beastmen to eat you into their stomachs and turn you into fertilizer for the land of Bretonnia."

Kerillian snorted and left. She thought why Victor was valued by the Dragon Prince, but it turned out to be the same stubbornness and arrogance.

"You irrational elf girl, I really don't know why Lona would look for you." Victor shook his head without disguising. He hated people who hid behind and shot black arrows, even though Kerillian's rain of arrows solved a lot of troubles.

But warriors who believed in Sigmar liked to smash the enemy's head in an upright manner. (End of this chapter)
