Wasteland: My items are infinitely upgraded

#3 - Eagle breast, recovery, lv2 high quality revolver

Warm, slightly fishy liquid slowly brought Lin Feng back to consciousness.

He was leaning against Ding Yi's lap, drinking the pale red liquid she had filled a plastic bottle with.

The festering, foul-smelling pus that had covered his body had been wiped clean.

Beside the back of the flatbed cart, five vulture corpses were neatly arranged. Three had been plucked clean, revealing brownish chicken skin, while the necks of the other two drooped, their throats cut to drain their blood.

Thick blood, like snot, dripped into the bottle with a rustling sound coming from nearby.

"You can't drink the blood of the vultures directly, so I added some fresh water to dilute it," Ding Yi said, her voice unable to conceal her excitement.

Five vultures were a considerable haul.

Lin Feng continued to drink, taking small sips of the rusty, fishy diluted blood, checking his condition:

"Lin Feng, lv1, Weak"

"Health: 7, Strength: 7, Spirit: 8; lv1 attribute limit: 10"

Both his health and strength had recovered somewhat. As expected, he needed nutritious food to heal quickly.

The wound on his left hand, caused by the vulture's struggles, had already clotted and scabbed over, with no signs of inflammation.

"How long was I unconscious?" Lin Feng asked after drinking most of the bottle.

Ding Yi helped him lean against the base of a rock to rest, then looked towards the distant rising dust clouds.

"About half an hour. The main group hasn't gone far."

At that moment, Chen Shanshan walked over, holding a sharp knife, and began to dissect the vultures.

The rustling sound Lin Feng had heard earlier was Captain Chen sharpening her knife.

Chen Shanshan was very skilled, and Ding Yi also took out her own self-defense dagger to learn.

These were all valuable survival skills in the wasteland.

In the captain's hands, the head-sized vultures were quickly broken down into eight pieces.

The organs in the abdominal cavity, the heart and lungs, could be eaten directly. The liver, spleen, kidneys, and gallbladder, which accumulated toxins, were placed on the flatbed cart to dry for future storage.

The slender intestines were turned inside out, the filthy, semi-digested bone fragments scraped clean. After some kneading, they became elastic ropes that could be used for binding.

After processing the easily rotting organs, the main event of separating the bones and meat began.

Despite their large size, two-thirds of the vultures' bodies were feathers. With the bones and meat, they weighed less than two pounds. After removing the bones, there was at most a pound of shredded meat.

The only complete, large piece of meat, which was also the most tender and flavorful, was the vulture breast meat.

After digging out three pieces of vulture breast meat, Chen Shanshan cut them into finger-thick strips.

She had Ding Yi send two pieces, about a pound in total, to Lin Feng.

"There's only a little more than half a bag of fresh water left. Eating too much meat will consume more water. Eat a little first, and we'll trade for a few bags of water when we catch up with the main group," Chen Shanshan reminded him, knowing that eating too much would only worsen dehydration. She then continued processing the remaining two vultures after draining their blood.

Lin Feng nodded slightly, ignoring the bloody smell of the raw meat strips, and sucked them into his mouth to chew.

It was cold and felt like tofu or pudding, without the coarse, woody fiber of cooked or dried meat.

After eating more than ten strips in one go, his churning stomach finally felt a little full, and his weak body also improved.

Lin Feng put down the wooden board he was using as a plate and continued to drink the diluted blood.

He was somewhat surprised by Chen Shanshan's generosity.

After Ding Yi's introduction, he knew that the vulture breast meat was the most nutritious and delicious part of the vulture, accounting for 70% of its value.

The two of them could have easily taken it for themselves, only giving him scraps, or simply abandoned him.

There was no need to waste precious food and fresh water on someone who was about to die.

Seeming to see Lin Feng's confusion, Ding Yi, who was stringing together vulture feathers with hemp rope, said:

"They were bought with your life. According to the team's rules, you should get the best parts. Although resources are scarce, we haven't fallen to the point of harming our teammates."

"This is also the captain's philosophy. Before it endangers her own life, she will try to save every member."

"So, although everyone was hungry before, they didn't have to be constantly on guard against each other like other wasteland teams."

Ding Yi measured Lin Feng's shoulders with the hemp rope:

"No need to thank me. Get better quickly. We're short on manpower right now."

Lin Feng nodded silently. After the digestion in his stomach, his health bar recovered to 8 points.

Before long, the wound on his right leg would scab over, and he would be able to stand and walk, no longer burdening the two of them.

Ten minutes later, the captain finished processing all the vultures, spreading the dug-out organs and minced meat flat on the flatbed cart to ensure they were exposed to direct sunlight to dry.

Then, she looked at Lin Feng, whose condition had improved, and Ding Yi, who was still weaving:

"It's time to go. Gunfire will attract nearby wasteland teams. There are only three of us, which is very dangerous."

Lin Feng nodded. To be precise, there were two of them. He and Ding Yi together only counted as one.

Supporting himself against the rock wall, Lin Feng struggled to get up. With Ding Yi's support, Lin Feng returned to the flatbed cart, continuing to eat meat and drink blood to recover his injuries and strength as soon as possible.

The group continued on, following the tracks on the ground, fleeing the hunting site.

After a while, Lin Feng saw the three bullets that had appeared in the revolver, realizing that a total of three hours had passed.

At this time, the three had traveled five kilometers, far enough away from the previous temporary camp.

Chen Shanshan announced a rest, finding a shady spot under a large rock.

Looking at the captain's erratic breathing, Lin Feng knew that her condition was not good. Dragging him for more than ten hours in one go, even with her strength, was easy to overexert.

Chen Shanshan was the only combat force in the team, and nothing could happen to her.

If only there was a car, even a tricycle, it would be easier and less strenuous than this broken flatbed cart.

Lin Feng's desire for safety grew more urgent.

Looking at his personal attributes in the corner of his eye, his health had recovered to nine points, and the external wound on his right leg had completely scabbed over, allowing him to slowly walk.

Just in case, Lin Feng decided to strike while the iron was hot and continue eating vulture breast meat to speed up his recovery.

He slowly got up, walked to the flatbed cart, grabbed a semi-dehydrated strip of meat, and stuffed it into his mouth.

The two women watched, simply continuing to rest.

Soon, after the fourth bullet took shape, Lin Feng's health and strength attributes increased to the limit of ten points.

As a warm current flowed through his abdomen and into his entire body, he successfully advanced to level two:

"Lin Feng, lv2 / 9"

"Health 14, Strength: 14, Spirit: 13; lv2 attribute limit: 15"

"Item upgrade limit increased to lv2"

"Can consume 1 point of health to upgrade the lv1 Common Revolver."

Lin Feng did not hesitate and directly chose to upgrade.

After a moment, the Type 05 revolver in his hand was brand new:

"Superior Revolver lv2, White Quality"

"Basic Attributes: Damage 4, Effective Range 50 meters, Remaining Bullets 6 / 6; Upgraded to host's level limit"

"Additional Attribute: Bullet Recovery 1 / 1min"

"Evaluation: A secondarily optimized revolver. The caliber has been increased, and the damage and range have been doubled. It can kill with two shots. Attacking vital parts doubles the damage, effectively deterring the target in front of you."

The upgraded Superior Revolver had an excellent texture, and the barrel was slightly larger. The remaining ammunition was immediately refilled.

Lin Feng suddenly had a flash of inspiration and opened the revolver's cylinder, wanting to pull out the bullets inside, but unfortunately, he didn't succeed.

Otherwise, just relying on automatic bullet recovery, one bullet per minute, sixty bullets per hour, and more than a thousand bullets per day, could be exchanged for countless resources.

This bullet recovery attribute should be a conceptual special ability.

But even so, the Superior Revolver's combat power should not be underestimated.

Lin Feng safely put it in his pocket, drawing a sense of security from it.

Ding Yi, who was resting nearby, opened her eyes after a short break and continued to weave the vulture feathers.

Seeing this, Lin Feng began to inquire about the division of power among the wastelands, as well as the existence of evolutionaries.

After upgrading, he could feel a significant increase in strength. As long as his injuries were completely recovered, he should have some combat power.

He wondered who was stronger, him or Qi Shan's gang.

Ding Yi was about to open her mouth to introduce her limited knowledge of the past month…

When Chen Shanshan, who was leaning in the shadows, suddenly opened her eyes, tightly gripped the steel rod in her hand, and whispered:

"Be careful, someone's coming!"
