Chapter 13 A Ghost

 On the deck.

Xia En looked a little solemn.

According to this trend, it is only a matter of time before the Black Swan is overtaken by the Blood Wolf.

Although the Black Swan is equipped with artillery, its range, accuracy, and ammunition reserves can only be described as worrying.

In fact, for most of the ships around Duke Island, long-range bombardment is not the main means of determining victory when fighting at sea.

Often after close range artillery fire, the battle will quickly evolve into a boarding battle.

Due to the unknown strength of the enemy and the overwhelming number of people, Xia En instinctively did not want to enter the most dangerous boarding battle.

But now, this situation... seems inevitable?

 “Hmm? Wait...”

Xia En suddenly felt blessed and thought of something that he had ignored.

“The projected body cannot leave the sea while submersing, but it can fight under the sea!”

“This is the way to break the situation!”

Thinking of this, Xia En turned around and ordered: "Joy, I'll control the artillery, and you'll be at the helm!"

“Remember, no matter what happens, don’t panic!”

Hearing this, Joey was stunned for a moment, as if a heavy burden was weighing on him.

But at the same time, she also felt Xia En's trust, and her expression immediately became serious.

“Mr. Captain, leave it to me!”

The artillery on the Black Swan is mounted on the side and requires entering the lower level of the ship to load and fire.

Xia En’s real purpose is naturally not to rely on this weak artillery to sink the Blood Wolf, but to facilitate his [deep sea diving]!

Walking to the cabin, Xia En had an idea.

 Start diving!

The next moment, the projected body is generated, and his consciousness descends into the sea water.

Xia En raised his head and looked at the bottom of the [Blood Wolf] ship in the distance, with a sneer on his lips.

At this moment, the identities of prey and hunter are about to be reversed!

 …

 …

 Blood Wolf, on the deck.

Blood Wolf Hansen is standing among the pirates.

He is nearly two meters tall, with a slightly hunched back, a white beard, and the scars on his bare arms, which are his medals of honor.

The whole person looks thin and strong, like a vicious and dangerous old wolf.

Hansen looked at the ships in the distance and asked the pirates around him: "Does anyone recognize that ship?"

The first mate Walter on the Blood Wolf thought for a while and replied: "It should be the Black Swan?"

"I once met the old captain of the Black Swan. He is quite a character. People at sea are willing to give him a little favor."

"However, the old captain is dead, and the current captain should be his son who has not yet grown hair."

A flash of greed flashed in Hansen's eyes, and he said clearly: "No wonder there are not many sailors on the ship."

“It seems that they have all run away a long time ago!”

“In this case, I will accept this ship and the property on it!”

In this sea, the law of the jungle is the only law.

For pirates, it is normal for a chance encounter to turn into robbery.

If the captain of the Black Swan is a powerful character and has many capable men, Hansen might even weigh the pros and cons.

But now, with the helpless fat right in front of him, how could he not eat it?

  Boom!

Suddenly, a roar of artillery sounded.

A splash of water exploded on the sea dozens of meters away from the Blood Wolf, but it did not cause any damage to the Blood Wolf.

“Oh? You still dare to fire?”

Seeing this, Hansen, instead of panicking, showed a cruel and disdainful sneer.

“Just right, it’s more pleasurable to kill prey that can struggle.”

People who work as pirates at sea tend to have somewhat morbid personalities.

At this moment, the Black Swan's weak counterattack only aroused the ferocity of the pirates.

The more it resisted, the more excited the pirates on the Blood Wolf became.

“Go at full speed and kill them all!”

Hansen pulled out the scimitar from his waist, pointed it directly at the Black Swan ahead, and shouted loudly. "Kill! Kill! Kill!"

"kill!!"

The pirates wearing blood-colored turbans looked ferocious and screamed strangely, like hungry wolves smelling the smell of blood.

  咚!

Just when the shouts of killing were loud on the deck, some strange sounds came from the bottom of the ship.

But at this time, no one cared about the muffled sound.

The pirates just thought it was another failed bombardment by the Black Swan, and they laughed even more crazily.

  咚! Boom! Boom!

The weird muffled sound continued, one after another, like a heavy drum beat.

Blood Wolf Hansen was the first to feel that something was wrong and frowned: "What is this sound?"

First mate Walter hesitated and said: "It seems...isn't it the roar of artillery?"

 “Captain, it’s bad!”

A pirate rushed onto the deck in panic and shouted in horror: "The cabin is flooded!"

"What!?"

Hansen's expression suddenly changed and he grabbed the pirate by the collar: "Tell me, what's going on?"

“Well, it seems like something...pierced the bottom of the boat!”

“Bottom of the boat? Could it be?!”

Hansen glanced at the Black Swan not far away, and for the first time a look of uncertainty appeared on his face.

After all, he had been at sea for many years, so he quickly calmed down, made a decision, and gave the order.

“Walter, take some good watermen and go see what’s under the boat!”

“Others, continue to stay at their positions and chase the Black Swan at full speed!”

With a splash of water, Walter and several pirates sank into the sea.

Hansen sent Walter to carry out this task, not without purpose.

This first mate has a quarter of the blood of the sea clan, and his combat power in the sea is even better than that of Hansen himself.

Walter opened his eyes and scanned the surroundings vigilantly.

Soon, he saw a shockingly large hole on the side of the bottom of the boat, as if it had been violently punched through by some kind of blunt instrument.

Seawater is rapidly penetrating into the hull.

“Damn it! What the **** is this made of?”

Walter was annoyed when he suddenly heard a vague and short cry from beside him.

  Turn around and look.

I saw a sailor who went into the sea with him, holding his throat helplessly, his eyes gradually became blurred, and soon he stopped moving.

The blood quickly dyed the sea water red, and the smell of blood spread.

The most bizarre thing is that the sailor's body showed signs of decay, with spots appearing on the body, as if he had not just been killed, but had died in the seawater long ago.

"how come…"

 Walter’s heart skipped a beat.

He quickly turned his head and looked around, but the attacker was nowhere to be seen.

 “Woo!”

  A similar scream again.

This time the victim was disemboweled and his intestines were pulled out.

He struggled hard to surface, but his body shriveled up suddenly and withered like a mummy.

Such a strange way of death shocked Walter.

And the question is, where is the enemy?

Why didn’t he even see the enemy’s shadow?

Suddenly, sensing the flow of sea water, Walter turned his head and finally saw a strange afterimage.

The figure barely had a human form, but its facial features and any human features were invisible, and its body was as black as ink.

His arms mutated into a giant iron hook and a dark dagger. Apparently, they were the ones who hunted down the pirate just now.

The whole existence seems illusory, vague and chaotic.

  Full of inhuman horror.

It's like... it's a phantom that shouldn't exist in reality, or a ghost wandering in the boundless ocean!
