Werewolf wizard

#11 - Complete the Sacrificial Hand and Father Louis

Chapter 11: Completing the Hand of Sacrifice and Father Louis

Over the next three days, Su Nan continued to use the Hand of Sacrifice potion, while also working overtime to refine the Messenger version of the werewolf curse transformation potion.

He needed to refine at least 10 bottles.

Since undergoing werewolf transformation would amplify the strongest emotion of the transformed, Su Nan had to ensure that the ten hounds were extremely loyal to him.

Because if the strongest emotion of the ten hounds was not loyalty to him, but other emotions, they would likely lose control.

Fortunately, hounds were much easier to control than human hearts.

Three days later, Su Nan finished using three bottles of the Hand of Sacrifice potion, and a blood-red inverted cross pattern appeared on the back of his hand.

However, as long as Su Nan was willing, the pattern could automatically become invisible, only appearing when in use.

Su Nan was about to try testing the Hand of Sacrifice when someone intruded into his study.

Outside the door, a knock came, and after obtaining Su Nan's consent, Father Louis from the territory walked in.

Father Louis was a religious noble within Baron Peter's territory, and in fact, he was also a branch of the Peter family, also named Peter.

Nobles themselves were divided into secular nobles and religious nobles.

In theory, religious nobles, such as the abbots and priests under the church, were not allowed to have legitimate offspring or wives.

Therefore, secular nobles could easily arrange for their branches to become religious nobles.

This also prevented the territory from losing control in religious matters.

All along, the territory had been largely protected by Father Louis, precisely because he was the leader of the Peter family in the territory's religious power, which allowed him to repeatedly use religious power to control Maple Leaf Town.

Preventing Maple Leaf Town from going too far.

At least, preventing Maple Leaf Town from openly acting against Su Nan.

Father Louis was an elderly man, he looked at Su Nan and said, "Lord Su Nan, I have recently heard some strange rumors in the territory."

"Some people say they often hear wolf howls in the middle of the night."

Su Nan raised his eyebrows, revealing an expression that there was nothing strange about it.

"Uncle Louis, what's so strange about that? It could just be... a pack of wolves has entered Baron Peter's territory."

Louis was, after all, a member of the Storm Church.

Su Nan couldn't determine his position.

Father Louis frowned and said, "That's indeed not strange. The number of wolves around my church has increased, Pella has become younger, and so has Warwick."

"I'm not a fool."

"Therefore, I have been asking Pella for months about the secret of becoming younger, but she always makes excuses to prevaricate. But each reason is different, and in the end, they even contradict each other."

Father Louis suddenly looked up at Su Nan, a glint of light revealing itself in his old eyes.

"I heard before that you, sir, were researching witchcraft."

"Could it be that you finally have results?"

Father Louis was a little excited, so he coughed a few times.

"Lord Su Nan, lords everywhere have more or less joined secret gatherings in private. Even in order to pursue things like youth, they might even join the cult of the Storm Lord's opposite—the Mad Sea Goddess."

"I'm not that stubborn about it. In my eyes, family trumps faith."

"If you... really have something that can return youth, don't forget your uncle."

Su Nan lowered his head, thinking.

In fact, Father Louis had really helped him a lot. Since he transmigrated to this world, he had basically relied on his mediation to avoid the aggressive behavior of Maple Leaf Town.

But Father Louis was, after all, a member of the Storm Church.

And the Storm Church had been issuing new witch-hunt documents almost every year since twenty years ago.

Although it was conceivable who they were hunting, basically ordinary people.

But it was evident the Storm Church's resistance to witchcraft.

Father Louis sat down, somewhat excited, and said, "Even if your things are really useful. Then I have many friends who will need it."

"If it's really useful... how prosperous would our Peter family be?"

"Those earls, dukes, even the king, and even the cardinals within the Holy See, we can all connect with them one by one."

Upon hearing this, Su Nan immediately understood that he absolutely couldn't reveal the matter of the werewolf curse transformation potion to Father Louis.

It wasn't that Father Louis might betray him.

But that Father Louis wanted too much.

But when a person wants too much, that's basically when he messes things up.

He was currently in rapid development.

Prematurely attracting the attention of many high-level figures in the Storm Kingdom would be courting death.

To put it bluntly, when your strength is not enough, if you go to contact those upper echelons, you will only become a dish in their eyes.

Instead of someone who can sit at the table and share delicacies with them.

Su Nan thought for a while and said to Father Louis, "Uncle Louis, you're really thinking too much. How could witchcraft exist? Even if it really exists, I wouldn't dare to research it."

"I bear the responsibility of the Peter family."

"How can I research witchcraft and put the territory in danger? Uncle, once I am identified as a heretic by the church, legally, heretics are not qualified to become lords."

Father Louis seemed to have been splashed with cold water and sobered up.

He stared at Su Nan, and said, "Yes, family interests come first. I was too reckless, I shouldn't have involved someone of your status in these matters."

"Lord Su Nan, you're thinking very reasonably."

"You've really grown up. Let's leave it at that, it seems you don't quite trust me."

Father Louis stood up and turned to walk out the door.

"But Su Nan, I know you've been very busy lately, but you should go see your cousin Julia."

"Julia has been very worried recently. Moreover, Julia is the daughter of your father's brother, you should care more about your family."

Su Nan suddenly remembered that Julia Peter was a distant relative who had temporarily taken refuge in his manor.

She originally inherited a tea garden from her father, as well as a small villa that came with the tea garden, but was also encroached upon by her father's subordinates.

In fact, this kind of thing that happened to himself and Julia was not uncommon in the current Storm Kingdom.

After all, the entire history of the Storm Kingdom was only more than fifty years, and it was still parasitizing on the fragments of a two-thousand-year-old declining empire that had been forcibly destroyed.

After one or two generations, retribution will come.

The fathers and grandfathers of people like himself forcibly controlled this land with force, dismantled the military region system, and established a feudal system here.

But this kind of rule was superficial, without cultural roots and legitimate justification. In the next generation and the generation after that, these contradictions would erupt.

Either there would be capable descendants who would resolve these contradictions and completely digest these territories, or there would be administrative explosions, directly spitting out the things that had been swallowed before.

After Su Nan bid farewell to Father Louis, he walked out of the study, preparing to walk to the living area on the other side of the castle to see his cousin Julia.

But when he walked to the armory area inside the castle, he suddenly stopped at the warehouse door. He turned his head to look at the huge wooden door on the brick wall and heard the sound of someone rummaging inside.

"Who's in there?"

The sound inside the warehouse suddenly disappeared, but Su Nan could still hear some slow footsteps moving towards the door.

'A thief broke into the house?' Su Nan raised his left hand, thinking.
