Chapter 157 The Great Witch

On Sunday night a week ago, Shade won the Rhodes bet at about the same time with a very exciting card game. And today, a week later, he added [Original Silver Moon] to the deck and won the victory with a more exciting situation, without even dragging the game to the third game.

What happened last week was attributed to the luck brought about by the dice counterattack script, and what happened this week was probably really the luck brought about by [Original Silver Moon].

"Original Silver Moon!"

The crowd murmured quietly at first, and then erupted into an alarming noise, as if a steam bomb had exploded here. People helped the smiling Viscount Ford up, and more people crowded forward to make sure they were not dazzled.

Amidst the waves of noise, Vice President Mark loudly asked people to retreat. Duke Lucas, who was sitting opposite Shade, put his hands on the table and leaned forward. The surprised expression on his face was as if he discovered that Shade was Miss Carina pretending to be him.

Vice President Mark, who was accustomed to the "big world", immediately announced that Shade had won the first two rounds of the bet, and therefore won the entire game.

It was only then that Shade's opponent, the old Duke wearing an old red army uniform, asked the young detective incredulously:

"Authentic?"

He still seemed unconvinced.

"Yes, Miss Carina has seen it."

"selling?"

Before Shade could shake her head, the black-haired maid behind him finally spoke. Her voice is very clear, and her voice is just enough for everyone to hear:

"Detective Hamilton is Miss Carina's friend, and the Rhodes card is jointly held by Miss Carina and the detective."

Of course, that card belongs completely to Shade. In saying this, I just want to protect Shade.

"That's right, since it's Carina's..."

The Duke shook his head and looked at [Founder Silver Moon] on the table with some regret, his eyes unwilling to leave for a long time. In contrast, losing the bet is not what he cares about most:

"what a pity."

He shook his head again and stood up without saying a word. He opened his mouth to say something to the detective who was sorting the deck, but in the end he just congratulated:

"I have nothing to complain about losing to [Original Silver Moon]. It was such a wonderful card game. I haven't been so excited for a long time. Detective Hamilton, come with me."

Then he shouted to his guests:

"Gentlemen, this is nothing to make a fuss about. Please give way."

The old Duke's voice sounded like thunder.

He said that he didn't regret losing, which was obviously impossible, but he was very good at controlling his emotions, but the impatience in his voice clearly showed what he really thought.

The onlookers also noticed that the Duke was in a bad mood, so they took the initiative to get out of the way.

Shade understood that he was going to see Miss Carina, so he rearranged his deck and put it away. After greeting the people around him who were thanking him, he left the banquet hall with the maid and the Duke.

Many people asked Shade to come back and continue participating in the salon soon. Most of the people here didn't see the [Founder·Silver Moon] clearly just now.

When leaving here, Shade noticed that Miss Bayas was missing again, and he didn't know what she wanted to do when she sneaked in disguised as a maid. But what is certain is that the purple-eyed soothsayer is definitely not here. She should go to the opera with Miss Louisa now.

After walking out of the banquet hall, Miss Carina was actually in the study room two doors away.

Even at his own home, Duke Lucas knocked on the door first and then entered. Shade thought he would finally be able to see Miss Carina this time, but he didn't expect that the study room also had a two-story style.

The maid asked Shade to wait on the sofa outside for a while, and then led Duke Lux to go further inside. Shade also knew from this that even the old Duke was very cautious towards the young Miss Carina.

"Carina Cavendish is the aunt of the current king. Is it because of this relationship?"

The relationship between the royal family and the nobility is something that outsiders have never been exposed to, and he can only infer it from the contents of the vulgar novels he has read.

The soundproofing of the room was very good, so Shade could only vaguely hear the two Dukes of the Kingdom of Delarian talking about the deployment of some naval officials for a short period of ten minutes.

When Duke Lucas left, he seemed to be in good spirits. He shook hands with Shade again and asked him to have a good time at the cocktail party, but he did not talk about the [Original Silver Moon] card again.

"Detective Hamilton, will you be participating in the Big City Players this fall?"

the Duke asked cheerfully.

"Of course, the Prophet's Association has already invited me."

"Oh, I really have something to look forward to this fall."

The old Duke left the room happily. Shade heard him calling his butler loudly in the corridor to take out the wine from the wine cellar. The servant closed the door outside, and Miss Carina, who was across the door, spoke.

This seems to be the way they talk every time they meet, and Shade is used to it.

"Good evening, Detective. You did a great job."

This high-level sorceress is in a very good mood:

"It's even better than I thought. It seems that inviting you to participate in the card game was the right choice."

"It's your luck."

Shade said cautiously. The decoration style in the study was extremely serious. Shade could simply imagine that Duke Lucas spent countless nights discussing political and military matters here with dignitaries who hurried through the night.

"It's also the credit of the [Original Silver Moon]."

he added.

The conversation seemed to be stopped for a second. Shade heard the sound of putting down the tea cup, and Miss Carina sighed softly:

"It seems that you know the secret of the founding series of cards."

"No, I just know that the Wanxiang Impermanence card can bring good luck."

Shade said that Miss Carina did not hold back these secrets:

"Even the Witch Council to which I belong only knows a small part of the secrets of the Impermanence Card. You hold it because it chose you. Shade Hamilton, you are really good."

Carina Cavendish officially admitted that as the king's aunt, she was actually a member of the Witches' Council.

"I know what you are thinking. Yes, I am one of the thirteen great witches at the Parliament Round Table, but don't worry. Although some lunatics in the Parliament are wanted by the Righteous God Church, I have not been on the church's bounty list. Order. Detective, do you want to know my level as a ring wizard?"

There was a smile in the woman's words, and Xia De guessed the other party's attitude:

"certainly."

"Eleven rings."

A concise and direct answer, and Shade found that he was not surprised at all, and even felt that this level was a bit low.
