Chapter 363: The Manor During the Confrontation

He moved his eyes away from the oil painting and came to the stairs on the first floor, only to finally hear voices upstairs. Not one person, but a group of people. It seemed that the guests attending the banquet were all upstairs.

Shade walked up a few steps, looked up at the corner of the stairs, and found that there were five or six guards guarding the stairs, and two of them were even ring warlocks.

So he took off his mask and turned it into a toy, put it in his pocket, and then used [Moon Shadow's Illusion] to make the strange silver mist flow upward. The silver mist of the illusion was invisible before it took effect. Shade manipulated them to form a wall of mist at the entrance of the stairs. Then he stomped on the ground and made a sound. The moment the guards took the initiative to pass through the fog wall, his body disappeared and appeared behind the guards.

He lowered his head, played with his Rhodes cards, and walked toward the crowd. No one noticed Shade's arrival.

The second floor was very lively. The aroma of food mixed with the smell of perfume made people feel happy. The band in the corner was still playing soft dance music, and the mermaid-shaped gas lamps on the surrounding walls made the entire banquet venue look bright.

Although people looked a little panicked, whether they were decent gentlemen or ladies wearing fashionable dresses, they were still able to socialize normally.

Shade adjusted his clothes and entered the crowd. Then he easily found out what happened here and surmised what happened in the first half of the night.

A few hours ago, around ten o'clock, Aurora Manor, like Sophia's mansion, was attacked by marlin-wielding men. But unlike the unity within Sophia's mansion, this banquet had already been mixed with spies of the Scarlet Secret Cult disguised as guests. This led to the attackers successfully breaking into the mansion and blocking the way in and out with relics.

Fortunately, with the resistance of the natural church's ring magicians, the princess's guards, the guards hired by the Aurora family, and the bodyguards of a few guests, the gun battle lasted for nearly twenty minutes, and the manor side gained the upper hand.

The ugly enemy who now attacked the manor occupied the basement and wine cellar of the manor, while the guests of the banquet were active on the second floor and above. After finding that no one could leave the manor, the ring magicians of the Church of Nature found the owner of the manor. Miss Aurora announced that the police had been contacted and that it was dangerous down there, so everyone was asked to wait on the second floor.

So the panicked people gathered together, and the ugly enemies in the basement stopped trying to attack humans.

"That's why there is no one on the first floor. The blood stains I saw were left from the battle in the first half of the night. It seems that the ritual node is in the wine cellar, and the cultists gave up massacring the guests of the manor when they saw that they could not defeat them."

After understanding the whole story and finding out that although there were deaths, there was no princess among the dead, Shade breathed a sigh of relief.

He didn't see Mr. Darkness or Lesia on the second floor. Later I found out that not all the guests were here, some distinguished guests were resting on the third floor.

The stairs from the second floor to the third floor have more guard handles, and the protection of the third floor is much tighter than that of the second floor. And getting closer to the big witch, Shade was no longer willing to use his power at will. Fortunately, not long after, he saw Lesia's maid coming down from upstairs, preparing to go to the kitchen to bring hot tea to Her Royal Highness the Princess.

Shade followed her into the corridor, and when he patted the maid on the shoulder, he almost made the maid scream in fright.

"Oh, Shade!"

In the lounge on the third floor, Lesia was lying on the small sofa, covered with a blanket and resting with her eyes closed. Hearing footsteps entering the door that didn't sound like his maid, he sat up and opened his eyes to see Shade:

"Oh, God, I'm not dreaming."

After saying that, the red-haired girl didn't care that there was her personal maid in the room. She walked forward quickly and hugged Shade, but immediately let go.

She didn't give Shade a chance to speak. She looked him up and down with her eyes, and then asked a little strangely:

"What did you do to my maid? Why does she look at you like that."

"Your Highness, it's nothing."

The maid whispered, but Lesia didn't care. She grabbed Shade's arm, happy to see him:

"Shade, why are you here? Am I really not dreaming?"

She held Shade's arm and refused to let go, with an expression of surprise on her face.

"I'm a little worried about you."

With that, he explained what happened at Sophia's mansion in the middle of the night, and showed the body that he had turned into a doll. What happened in this manor was similar to what Shade heard on the second floor.

It's just that part of the content is missing for ordinary people. The fish people originally didn't want to "peacefully coexist" with the humans upstairs. However, the church's team of ring warlocks went downstairs again two hours ago and had a head-on fight with the cultists. No one took much advantage, so the current stalemate was formed.

"There is still one and a half hours of sunrise, and the red ocean will appear by then. And the church will probably break through here at about the same time."

Shade summarized the current situation, but he was not nervous at all. After all, he confirmed that the big witch was still in the house.

"Will you stay with me?"

Lesia asked softly.

"Won't."

"Um?"

"Oh, I mean, I want to take a look down there."

Shade pointed downstairs. Since the mansion is an important ritual node, the fishmen underground must have ritual information in their hands. He suspected that the information on the "Golden Pearl" was also in the hands of the fish-men. It's certainly risky, but definitely worth it. While the night was not over yet and [Moon Shadow's Illusion] could still be used, he wanted to go to the basement to take a look as much as possible.

"No need to take any chances, I'll be fine with that fishing line."

Lesia seemed to have misunderstood what Shade meant. Shade wanted to explain, but he didn't know how to speak. After confirming that the witch was here, he already believed that there would be absolutely no problem with Her Royal Highness the Princess.

If she came to attend the banquet held by the Aurora family and something happened, the big witch would be the one who would have the biggest headache.

Even if there were not those relics that resisted the curse, there was nothing Sylvia Aurora could do to let Lesia Cavendish die here. Even if you don't consider the influence of the royal family, you must also consider Miss Carina, who is also a member of the Witch Council.

"Except for the fishmen, I accidentally heard some news on my way here just now. Someone was killed by a demon, right?"

Shade was suddenly startled, and then he suddenly covered his chest.

The badge heated up rapidly, and the heat even caused him to feel a slight pain. The big witch is approaching here.
