Chapter 429 Corpse Explosion

"Oh, priest!"

Shade hurriedly walked up and wanted to help Priest August treat him, but the old man frowned and shook his head:

"It doesn't matter."

He snorted, and the white light slowly appeared in his palm. The holy white light just shone on Shade's side, making him feel as if his soul had been baptized. That light deeply attracted Shade, and he opened his eyes wide. The enlightenment accumulated from reading "Crazy Light Chaser" was slowly enriching, but this time it was not enough to form a new spiritual rune.

In the light, August's arm recovered little by little, and the dagger also trembled because of the white light, and was finally completely suppressed by the white light.

"It seems I'm not too old."

Priest Augustus sighed softly, took off the holy emblem from his chest, put it on the dagger and prayed quietly. He stopped after a while:

"Is there any container that can hold this?"

he asked Xiang Shade.

"have."

Shade recovered from the disappearing light, reached for a bunch of small toys in his pocket, restored the wooden box inside and handed it to the priest.

The priest pressed the holy symbol on the dagger, tied it with red thread, and carefully put it into the box. Then, he took out a piece of blue chalk and drew intersecting consecutive diagonal lines on the six sides of the box. Then, in the blank space between the diagonal lines, he wrote the exorcism symbols commonly used by Dawn Church.

Jean Shade held the box, and the priest pressed one hand on the box, closed his eyes again, and prayed quietly in the night wind of the cemetery, and then ended the entire process.

This was an eye-opener for Xia De. Professionals are indeed very knowledgeable.

"Priest, since this is not a relic, what is it? An alchemical item?"

Shade asked curiously. The priest handed the box to Shade for safekeeping, and then he and Shade watched the corpses on the ground burning. The flame burning from the kerosene should have been orange-red, but at this moment it appeared to be an eerie green.

Black smoke billowed from the corpse. Shade was glad that he was outside in the open air now, and that he and the priest were both standing upwind, otherwise the smell would be really fatal.

"I'm not sure what it is, but by desecrating a body to conceal a weapon, it must be very evil."

The two just stood there, watching the body burn. Shade also looked up at the cat on the tree. The cat was lying on the trunk of the tree looking leisurely and contented. He noticed that Shade looked up at it and barked softly in response.

Shade realized that this was the first time he had seen Mia climb a tree, and that the cat was more agile than he had imagined.

"When the flames go out, we will transfer the body back to the coffin. I will perform additional exorcism rituals to prevent anything else from happening."

the priest ordered.

"The corpse has become like this, what else can happen?"

Shade asked in surprise, and the priest imparted basic knowledge to him:

"Prevent this charred corpse from contaminating other corpses in the cemetery. We don't want to hear the news about the corpse riot in the unknown cemetery outside the city in a few weeks."

As he spoke, the priest couldn't help but sigh:

"You must be cautious when doing things. Young people often don't understand this principle."

The abnormal green flame burned for twenty minutes before extinguishing, but the flame did not burn the corpse into charcoal. Instead, it made the rotting corpse fresh, even the wounds kicked by Priest August and the wounds opened by Shade. The cracks have healed.

A woman's voice whispered in his ear, prompting the emergence of Shade's [Whisper] element. But the priest’s “other self” didn’t seem to have the element of [whispering], and the old man suddenly frowned:

"Detective, look!"

When Shade looked at the hands of the corpse, he was immediately stunned, because both hands were placed on his chest, holding black metal daggers tightly. The source of the [Whisper] element is not the reappearing dagger, but the lying corpse.

The traces of elements are very weak, not like relics, but more like traces of relics.

Shade immediately looked at the box he was holding.

"Tear it apart."

said the priest.

I opened the box and found nothing inside. But the box never left Shade's hand, and the woman's voice in Shade's ear never reminded him that anything unusual had happened.

"That's what's interesting."

The priest nodded to Shade, who dropped the box and threw out the cards again. Then as expected, the fresher corpse once again stabbed the card with a dagger.

It slowly climbed up from the ground, obviously closer to Shade, but still turned around and pounced on Priest August.

Because of the lesson learned last time, the priest did not raise his leg to kick after dodging. The index finger of his right hand drew an arc in the air, and then pointed at the head of the corpse:

"thunder!"

After the astonishing explosion, a thunderbolt broke through the air and struck the body. But the corpse actually raised his hand and blocked the thunderbolt with his dagger.

In the dark night, it raised its hand to stab Priest Augustus again. The priest turned sideways quickly, then slammed his right foot on the ground, causing the body to tilt backward:

"detective!"

"coming!"

Shade once again held the sword with both hands and chopped it down behind the corpse, but the corpse actually turned around and raised his hand. The short dagger without any trace of elements blocked Shade's hands from raising the sword. The body's physical strength was very strong.

The corpse's right hand shook, and the strange force-generating technique made Shade stumble back. His hands and wrists were numb, but he quickly recovered due to his strong physical fitness.

However, the corpse still did not take the initiative to attack Shade, who had exposed his flaw. Instead, he turned around again to deal with Priest August.

"Priest, do you really have no grudge against it?"

"Is this a good time to joke?"

The old man asked dissatisfiedly, and the life ring appeared behind him. He said loudly to Shade:

"I can still solve this little trouble. Just retreat quickly and take your cat as far away as possible."

"no problem!"

Priest Augustus probably prepared a very powerful move, so Shade stepped out and moved ten meters out of thin air, stretched out his hand to greet the cat that jumped down from the tree, and then continued to run forward.

The clear voice of Priest August came from behind:

"Corpse Explosion Technique!"

Boom~

The dull sound almost made the ground tremble. Shade, who fell to the ground and rolled in a ball with the cat, looked worriedly at the gravekeeper's hut, then turned and looked back.

When he returned to the old man wearing clerical robes, there was a deep pit in front of him that was still emitting black smoke. Shade held the cat that was frightened by the explosion, and couldn't believe that the old man in front of him exploded a corpse:

"Will all believers of the God of Light and Shadow learn [Corpse Explosion Technique]?"

This doesn't sound like a thaumaturgy that a positive person should learn.

"I am not a ring magician of the church, and power does not distinguish between good and evil."

Priest August said softly, and Shade glanced at the life ring behind him. The spiritual rune that just lit up was [Corpse]. This kind of spiritual rune is not something that a devout believer in the True God like Priest August can possess.

The smoke and dust from the explosion gradually subsided, and in the deep pit created by the explosion, a scalp-numbing rustling sound gradually sounded. In the smoke with the smell of burning, Shade and the priest who were holding the cat saw that the fresh corpse that looked like it had just been buried climbed out of the pit again.

Not only does it now look more like a human being, but its movements are also becoming more agile, and it is still rushing directly towards Priest August instead of Shade.
