Witcher's Atelier

Chapter 286 Blue Guards and the Sorceress

The Blue Guards' base was a temporary conversion of a civilian house. Apart from the carnival party being held by his subordinates outside, at least the commander's office was decorated in a military style.

The shelves were full of weapons, and a huge map was placed on the desk. It was a topographic map of the entire Pontar Valley, including the floating port forest area.

"Roche, judging from the current situation, your old rival Iorveth is our biggest obstacle. If we want to catch the murderer of Foltest, we must fight the Squirrel Party!" said the white-haired Geralt seriously.

Roche, with his purple stubble on his face, took a puff of his pipe. "I have sent people to investigate, but the forest is too dense and difficult to move. They were ambushed and could only barely escape."

"It's not a hike in the forest. Hunting forest commandos is not easy. Tell me something I don't know! You said there was a breakthrough. What's going on?"

"My men found the Kingslayer yesterday. He lived alone in the cave and disappeared quickly after his whereabouts were exposed. The problem is that he knew we were chasing him, but he stayed nearby and didn't run away, nor did he surrender to his elf allies. I suspect he seems to be waiting for something or planning something."

Victor remained silent since he was pulled into the office by Geralt. He just listened and didn't say anything when he sat next to him. When he really came to Vernon Roche, he regretfully admitted that he couldn't say all the lines he had originally envisioned.

After all, the Kingslayer was not in the right at all on the surface, and Geralt was sitting next to him as a victim, and he didn't even know why Letho did this.

In this situation, it takes extraordinary courage and shame to make a statement of standing in line, and Victor in his normal state does not have such things.

Roche reached out and knocked on the table in front of him, "What's wrong with you? You haven't spoken today. Do you have any information to tell us?"

"No... It's okay. I'm just thinking about the reason why the Kingslayer didn't leave." Victor touched his nose.

This is not entirely an excuse. Geralt's conversation with Roche did give him a lot of inspiration.

A few days ago, Letho knew that the pursuers were coming. He could have used the cover of the Scoia's Party to leave by land and hide, but he didn't leave the floating port until he arrived, so there must be a reason for him to stay here.

Victor suddenly realized that maybe he left too rashly the day before yesterday. He should have talked to Iorveth again, or even lived in the camp to observe.

After exchanging opinions quickly, the witcher opened the door and left the office. It seemed like two different worlds inside and outside. The blue iron guards outside were drinking and having fun. They invited several ladies from the "Ladies' Secret Space" opposite to accompany them, plus unlimited beer supply.

Seeing the lively scene, Geralt turned to Victor, "I don't mind having a few drinks before leaving, are you interested in joining?"

With something on his mind, Victor shook his head and refused. At this moment, the door was suddenly pushed open and seven or eight people walked in from outside.

Some of them were wrapped in turbans, wearing loose cotton clothes on their upper bodies, but only underwear on their lower bodies, revealing two hairy thighs. Judging from their clothes, they should be villagers of "Robindan". People in the city would not dress like this.

The leading villager came in and saw the Iron Guard and shouted loudly, "It's them, wearing this blue clothes, bastards who blasphemed the statue of Viopatis!"

The villagers behind him, who were talking in a flurry, immediately followed and waved wooden sticks and shouted.

Victor raised his eyebrows. He knew what Viopatis was. This god was an ancient belief around the Pontar Valley. The statue as a symbol had a strange bloody mouth, which could be understood as a "creeper" with a mouth.

A bald blue iron guard stood out from the crowd, "Country bumpkin, watch your words! It's just a wooden doll, can't we have some fun?"

"Little fun! The little fun of you outsiders is to chop off the head of the god and put it in his eyes?"

Thinking of that weird face being chopped off and stuffed into the eyes... it was really obscene and blasphemous, Victor almost couldn't help laughing.

At this time, noticing the commotion, Roche walked out of the office and stood in front of the villagers, "Calm down, what happened?"

"They shot knives at the statue of Viopatis and chopped off his head. These lowly soldiers blasphemed our gods." Seeing that a reasonable officer came forward, the village representative was bold and poked his fingers almost to Roche's face.

He frowned, "Hey! They are not lowly soldiers, but blue iron guards. Do you know what blue means?" The commander's face was as gloomy as water and his hands were crossed.

The village representative wearing a red hat spitted wildly, "Are you trying to scare me? Damn, I don't care about blue or green clothes, it's the same to me! You are all bastards!"

"What did you say!" Hearing what the other party said, Roche's face suddenly changed, and his angry look shocked many villagers.

"I, uh, I just..." The village representative was a little flustered for a moment, not understanding why the commander was like this.

"You said what you thought in your heart, very good, that's it! Someone help this brave man a glass of beer! Let him drink a glass for my health."

The furious commander suppressed the whole scene with his majesty, and immediately a soldier brought beer, "Use this glass to toast Vernon Roche, the bastard!" After saying that, he threw the glass on the ground, and the beer foam flowed with a bang.

"Ah! But this cup is really bad, it's not suitable for a brave man like you, I have a better idea..." He hit the village representative with a punch and knocked him to his knees, "Lick this bastard beer on the floor!"

Roche then stepped on the opponent's back and made the victim lick the drink on the ground. His brutal behavior frightened the villagers, but the blue-clad iron guards were all his subordinates and had no right to stop him.

Weiss hurriedly approached the witcher, "Which one of you can think of a way to stop him?"

Victor blinked, but before he could speak, Geralt had already begun to persuade him, "Vernon...let them go! There's no need for this."

"What if I don't do it?" Roche's furious face suddenly turned to the white-haired witcher.

The blond witcher sighed, "Can you give us some face?"

Staring hard at the two people trying to persuade them, the commander of the blue-clad Iron Guard was silent for a moment, then raised his feet and let go of the villagers.

"Leave me alone, I need some peace and quiet!" After speaking, Roche walked back to the office and slammed the door tightly.

After the disaster, the villagers of Robindan ran away with their heads in their hands.

Weiss also waved her hand, letting the blue-clad iron guards disperse to continue the banquet, and then turned to the witcher, "Thank you for your help. Please don't take what happened just now to your heart."

"His rage had better have a good reason! If he has one." Geralt didn't like bullying, especially when the whole thing started because the blue-clad Iron Guard provoked the villagers first.

Weiss shrugged her shoulders, "Since you want to know... Vernon has no father. He grew up in a poor family. His mother sold her body to support them. The other children called him his cousin. He has not been able to tolerate this since he was a child. insult!"

Victor didn't have a problem with this reason, and Geralt obviously didn't either.

The recent episode was forgotten, the surroundings were filled with loud noises again, and the atmosphere of the banquet gradually recovered.

Weiss smiled at the two of them, "Come on! Let's have a drink! It's time to relax today!"

"Why not!" Geralt nodded in agreement.

Victor shook his head, "Next time, definitely next time."

He had a burden in his heart, and he had to go back to his room early to refine the alchemy and prepare enchantments, bombs and potions for the battle tomorrow afternoon.

At noon the next day, Victor went to Lame Sam to meet Geralt. When he was about to go find Xi Er, he unexpectedly found a new tattoo on his neck. The pattern was of a woman with a half-fruit holding a sword. The style was the same as that of Lame Sam. The same goes for the Iron Guard in Blue.

"What happened to your tattoo? Did you decide to join the Blue Guard?"

Hearing Victor's question, Geralt's expression suddenly became a little embarrassed, and he seemed a little embarrassed.

"Wick, can you help me make a potion to wash off my tattoos?"

"I'm happy to help."

Knock open the mat. The door of Tanshavier, the furnishings of the sorceress's bedroom are simple and straightforward, with a few tapestries, a bed, a desk and a telescope.

Seeing the two witchers coming together, the success rate of the hunt was almost certain, and she had a bright smile on her face.

"Two of you, I have been waiting for a long time. I believe you are fully prepared. After listening to Selvek's introduction, will you feel scared?"

Victor shook his head and said nothing. He was not familiar with the sorceress, and Triss reminded her that there was no need to make friends.

"No, but we need to try to lure it to the shore. It is almost impossible to cause effective damage in underwater battles." Geralt stated the requirements discussed with Victor in advance.

Xi'er smiled confidently, "Leave this matter to me. I will ensure that it cannot leave the barrier and escape back into the river."

"I'm sure it will be pretty spectacular."

"That's inevitable. I'm looking forward to your wonderful performance."

The sorceress's outfit today is a black hunting suit, which is much more conservative than the robe she saw last time. She has obviously put in the effort to prepare for battle.

Geralt asked suddenly, seemingly casually, "Speaking of which, I didn't expect to see you at Loledo's?"

"Contrary to you, I am pretty sure you will show up there. Bannard is very cautious about his small trading post. Any outsider will be called to inquire sooner or later."

"What does he want from you?"

Xi'er replied coldly, "Geralt, that's my business and has nothing to do with you. Remember, we are not partners, we just cooperate to hunt the giant octopus monster."

Victor next to him didn't care about their conversation, but suddenly thought of a question, maybe the other party would be willing to answer.

"Ms. Seale, as far as I know you are an advisor to the royal family of Kadwen and have almost nothing to do with this place. Can I ask why you are hunting the giant octopus monster?"

The sorceress gave the blond witcher a funny look, "Didn't Geralt tell you? He asked the same question before, so I will answer you again. I need a certain part of the giant octopus monster to refine a special A miracle cure for King Henselt’s infertility!”

"I thought Megatron was invincible in this field?"

"Henselt's problem is not his erection, but his age. Even the strongest Megatron cannot cure infertility caused by aging!"

What Xi'er said flashed through Victor's mind like a flash of lightning. He felt as if he had caught something, but he couldn't see it clearly!

It wasn't until much later that Victor realized that he had strangled fate by the throat!

A group of three people went to the giant octopus monster's lair. On the way, Victor handed a bomb to Xi Er for enchantment. This was new knowledge shared by Geralt, which he did not know at all.

The warlock can infuse the bomb with magic power, effectively increasing the bomb's explosion range and damage on the original basis, but this opportunity does not come often.

And Xier's skillful magic infusion action made Victor have a strange association. There should be a warlock behind Reso to help with magic infusion. After all, the power of the epic north wind has been tested. When it exploded on the back of the dragon that day, it only froze it from the air for a period of time, and it definitely did not have the power to freeze the entire cruise ship.

On the other hand, the female sorceress who took over the bomb from the blonde witcher also felt a sense of déjà vu. Such a finely polished shell and high sealing are exactly the same as the two bombs that have been infused with magic recently, but this one is not a freezing bomb.

Mobilizing the magic power in the air with one hand, circling and condensing on the shell of the bomb, Xier looked into Victor's eyes, "This bomb is well made. Did you make it yourself? Can you make a freezing effect?"

The witcher shook his head innocently, "Yes... I made this one, but I can only do this. What is the freezing effect you are talking about?"

The female sorceress's mind reading returned in vain. The other party's expression and demeanor were all normal, not like fake.

Thinking that the cooperative battle was imminent, Xi'er did not ask any further questions, but Victor suddenly became alert. The other party was very confident when talking about the freezing bomb. Perhaps she had seen the real thing. At this point in time, people who have seen the North Wind are likely to be related to the King Killer!

Letho stopped here, and Xi'er also came here. Are there any connections between them?

On the way, the three people with their own thoughts were silent all the way and successfully arrived outside the giant octopus monster's nest.

Geralt first took out a tube of potion and handed it to Victor, "The mongoose potion made by Triss can resist the monster's toxins!" Then he turned to Xi'er, "Madam, after we go down, we will first set up several large traps to help trap the octopus tentacles. Please be sure to provoke the monster after receiving the signal from us to start."

The sorceress raised her head proudly, "I will arrange it according to the situation."

Victor and Geralt looked at each other, slid down the hillside, and soon arrived near the nest. This is an abandoned ruin of ancient elves, magnificent and spectacular. There are many destroyed ships around, all of which are the spoils of the giant octopus monster over the years.

It is not empty talk to prepare traps first. In order to deal with this super heavyweight monster, Geralt made a lot of preparations in advance, including asking Sedeik to help make a giant octopus monster trap. He took it from his back and started to set it up.

On the other side, holding the bomb that has been filled with magic in his hand, Victor observed it carefully and could feel the explosive power from it. He knew it was a coincidence. He just happened to run into a sorceress who happened to be skilled in filling bombs with magic.

But. It is still very suspicious. Anything related to the white wolf is not necessarily a coincidence.
