Chapter 182 7 Cruel People
Chapter 182 7. The Cruel One
Feier folded his hands and looked at the boy squatting in the corner of the room, feasting. He couldn't help but remind him: "Eat slowly, no one will compete with you."
Savita turned a deaf ear.
If today was just a normal and beautiful day, where he was working in the mine and looking forward to a peaceful day in the big bath and the soft bed in the room after get off work, he would of course eat very slowly.
He would chew slowly, savoring every morsel of food, chewing it with his teeth, crushing it, using deep planes to turn them into powder before he would swallow them. After that, he would remember their taste and reminisce about it until he fell asleep.
But things were different now. Now, he wasn't sure if he would be able to eat such wonderful food tomorrow.
So he just ate with his head down, like a wild animal, just like he used to look like when he was still in the shanty town.
"Every physical indicator is very healthy. There are no genetic diseases, no infectious diseases, and no skin diseases."
Jairzinho Guzman looked up from the inspection report with slight surprise and gave a rare smile.
"Maybe this kid can really do it."
"What can you do?" Sevatar raised his head in confusion, still holding a large piece of Glocks steak in his mouth.
"It's nothing, kid," Fair said slightly warningly, glancing at the medical officer. "You'd better be respectful when talking to our chief medical officer, you know? Otherwise, I can't guarantee what he will do to you."
"Captain Fell."
"What?" Feier turned back and looked at Jairzinho Guzman without changing his expression. "What's the matter, dear Chief Medical Officer?"
Guzman nodded to him expressionlessly, said nothing, just nodded quietly.
Feier grinned and turned his head back: "Have you finished eating, boy?"
"Finished."
"Do you want another one?"
"No." Sevatar stood up slowly and let out a sigh of relief. He placed the dinner plate on the table nearby and wiped his hands with his cotton coat. "Three servings is my limit - well, what on earth do you want to do?"
"What do you think?" Feier raised his eyebrows in surprise. He didn't expect that this boy would have the courage to bring up this matter.
"I don't know," Sevatar said simply. He spread his hands and shook his head. "That's why I asked, why do you always answer me with questions? The man who brought me here didn't do this. What's his name?"
Fair narrowed his eyes.
His patience had its limits. He could tolerate this boy who grew up in a shanty town showing a casual attitude toward him or the medical officer, but he would not allow him to talk nonsense to the instructors of the Night Blades.
If this kid named Yago Severtalion is that bold, the chief think tank really doesn't mind giving him a lesson.
But Sevatar didn't give him this chance. He was silent for a few seconds, and then spoke a name in Nostramo that was even more difficult to pronounce than his own name: "Caril Lohar" "
"Yes," Guzman said. "Our instructor."
"What on earth does he do?" Saiveta said, leaning against the wall. He put his hands behind his back and stood casually, even looking a little frivolous.
"I asked him what the instructor meant, but he told me that the instructor is similar to the projection machine in the mine that teaches us how to mine. I think this is impossible."
"You are not qualified to know what he does now, child." Guzman replied softly. He truly answered Sevita's question. His tone could even be called gentle, but the words he used But very cold.
"And you don't have to use that little cleverness to test our attitude towards you. We don't use you as a guinea pig, so you'd better not treat us as some superior tormentors."
Fair laughed again.
"You'd better do as he said, kid." The chief think tank tilted his head in satisfaction. "You haven't suffered much so far. Now, stand up straight."
Sevatar obeyed the man's words, straightened his back and stood up straight. He had memorized the appearance of both men, although he didn't actually know their names yet. Then, just ten seconds after he stood up straight, the door was pushed open again.
The giant who had led him came in. He nodded to the other two giants and they walked out. The door closed quietly, everything seemed so logical, yet extremely unexpected. Sevatar began to breathe slowly, lowering her heart rate.
He involuntarily leaned the back of his head against the wall, his expression pretending to be calm: "What are you going to do?"
"Are you full?" Khalil asked. "How about we settle this matter first, and then I'll answer your questions?"
"You're full." Sevatar replied in a low voice.
Of course he was more than just full - he was still a fifteen-year-old boy, and although his determination was far beyond that, it didn't mean that his stomach was far beyond that as well.
Eating three Glocks steaks in a row almost made him unable to bend over. The food was stuck in his throat. This feeling of overfullness made him both satisfied and uncomfortable.
In the past, every time he was lucky enough to get some food that wasn't human flesh, he would force himself to eat completely until he was full, until he couldn't even fall asleep.
"As long as you're full." Khalil nodded. "I have no intention of doing anything to you, Yago Sevatarion—or, Sevatar."
He smiled, leaned against the door and folded his hands: "At least we won't do anything to you until you agree. Bringing you back today is just a coincidence."
".coincide?"
"Yeah," Khalil said. "A coincidence."
He stared at Sevita, and there was an emotion in his completely dark eyes that Sevita could not yet understand.
"Actually, this is all too much of a coincidence. Your physical fitness is better than that of most adults, you are determined, have a good personality, you even have the talent of your age, and you happen to be in Quintus. What a coincidence. Yes, Sevita, if I hadn’t already confirmed it.”
Sevatar swallowed.
Of course he didn't understand what Khalil was talking about, but his ability to observe words and expressions was telling him one thing - the giant standing in front of him was probably not very happy at the moment.
In his opinion, when dealing with those who have the ability to control your life and death, you'd better not make them unhappy.
"What can I do?" the boy asked anxiously, puffing up his chest and acting very heroic. "Anything, sir—I mean, as long as you don't actually cut me open without anesthesia."
"You can stand there and listen to what I have to say."
"What words?"
"Some words that may cause great changes in your future life. Do you still remember the dream you just had, Yago Severtarion?"
".I remember."
"In the dream, you were walking alone in the fog. You saw many ghosts and you could hear their whispers. You didn't just see them in your dreams, right?"
Sevatar gritted his teeth and tried to lie, but he failed - the giant stared at him as if he was cutting his chest open with a knife and digging out his heart. He couldn't lie. He just couldn't lie.
"I've seen them many times." The boy clenched his fists. "I see them every day, sometimes in the fog, sometimes in heavy rain, and sometimes they speak to me in animals. Rats, wild dogs, crows."
"And in your dreams."
"Yes, and in my dreams." Sevatar replied in a low voice. "But why do you ask? Why do you know so well?"
"I told you, I know a lot of things." Khalil laughed and temporarily withdrew his gaze, no longer staring at him. "So, new question, Sevatar. Did you hear what they said?"
"What? No, of course not!" Savita's eyes widened. "Why should I listen to a group of dead people?! Forever's sake, who knows what they are? I don't want to be caught by a group of dead gangsters!"
"In other words, you never heard them clearly?"
"No." Savita closed her mouth and swallowed again. "No, sir, no."
"So, do you want to hear it?" Khalil asked.
The boy was stunned by his words, but he did not stop there and continued his narrative. Just like a certain natural law, storms never stop due to human wishes. Nature is cruel, one can even say cruel, but they should be cruel.
"You should listen to them, Yago Severtarion. You have a certain talent that is mysterious to most people, and those few ordinary people who master them usually end up with one of two ends. "They either spend their lives trying to resist this gift, or they accept it and use it to become a goddess, a wizard, or something else."
"You can choose to accept it, or reject it, Yago Savitarion. But there are preconditions."
Sevatar's heart began to beat wildly. He was not a stupid person, and he could naturally understand that Khalil Lohars was hiding something behind his words - and, even if he couldn't hear it, he could see it.
Why are these giants so peaceful to an orphan like him?
After a long silence, Yago Savitarion slowly spoke. His voice has become hoarse, like an old man who is dying in his twilight years, or a crazy slave who has been locked in a cave for a long time without talking to anyone.
"What premise?" he asked in an extremely soft voice.
"Sane," Khalil said. "There's a lot I'm going to tell you next, but I hope you'll keep your wits about you and listen to it quietly. At that point, we'll discuss whether you want to accept it or not."
