American Comics: BOSS Invasion

#243 - Heavy rain is coming

Matt, gasping for breath, leaned against a dead tree.

This tree was also a modified zombie; after being soaked by the seawater, it now gaped with a wide-open mouth, appearing unwilling to die, and even its lush canopy had withered.

Not far from Matt was the corpse of that pink wild boar, the marriage fanatic.

Just as the two of them were chasing each other, a torrential downpour suddenly descended from the sky.

The pink wild boar, with its mouth open and eyes flashing red hearts, instantly swallowed a large amount of the rain, then its eyes turned gray, and it crashed to the ground, becoming a corpse.

The shadow that poured out of its mouth, like the other shadows, quickly disappeared into the air.

Matt was still somewhat bewildered; he had no idea what had happened.

When the raindrops were about to fall on his head, they instantly evaporated.

Although his Hellfire had dissipated, it was all stored within his bones; although it wasn't visible on the outside, the temperature of his bones was actually very high.

Raindrops naturally evaporated before they could even get close.

Not only above his head, but even near his foot bones, simply standing on the ground caused wisps of green smoke to rise from the wet surface.

It looked particularly eerie from the outside.

Matt had been running blindly and had no idea where he had ended up.

He looked around and had no recollection of the place; he shook his head and walked in a random direction.

Although he had become a zombie, the instinct to seek shelter from the rain still remained.

It was best not to take shelter in the forest during such heavy rain; it was easy to get struck by lightning; it was better to find a building.

He walked randomly along the path and suddenly tripped and fell to the ground.

Matt got up, somewhat dazed, and looked back to find that he had tripped over a coffin.

And next to the coffin were the corpses of two squirrel zombies, their mouths also wide open, their deaths looking bizarre.

"A coffin, how could this thing be here?"

Matt felt a strange sense of familiarity from the box, and he subconsciously opened it.

Unsurprisingly, the box contained Johnny.

He was currently in a comatose state, bound like a rice dumpling with spider silk; even after such a large jolt, he still showed no signs of waking up.

Matt stared blankly at Johnny, and as if possessed, reached out his pale, bony claws and touched his face.

This contact was significant; a flame suddenly burst from his hand.

Johnny was like gasoline encountering an open flame, instantly igniting.

This was too sudden; Matt was startled, and he subconsciously took a few steps back.

Johnny, in the coffin, was engulfed in Hellfire, quickly burning away the coffin and the spider silk binding him, then burning away his skin and hair; a skeleton wearing a leather jacket appeared before Matt.

Matt felt a strange sense of familiarity with the person in front of him.

He subconsciously took a step forward, but vortex-like flames suddenly condensed in the skeletal pupils of Johnny.

He slowly stood up, Hellfire rising from his body, a large amount of heat radiating out, instantly evaporating the falling rain into steam.

The Ghost Rider slowly extended a finger and hoarsely said, "Look into my eyes, you are guilty!"

Matt felt a surge of evil fire in his heart, and then the flames enveloped his entire body.

"Is that so? Then come and punish me!"

Matt coldly replied, striking an offensive stance.

A fierce battle was about to begin.

Perona's courtyard could be said to be the most distinctive part of the entire Thriller Bark.

The various plants in the garden were all in cute shapes.

Usually, many cute little animals would appear here; they had all sorts of heads, although they were mismatched, Perona found them strangely attractive.

Of course, the prerequisite was that the little animals were not allowed to speak, as speaking would expose the fact that they were zombies.

Perona had a girlish heart, and all her decorations were cute, but what she considered cute, others considered bizarre.

The courtyard could now be considered truly bizarre.

In addition to the rampant rainwater, the ground was covered with the dried-up corpses of small animals, as if there had just been a flood followed by a plague.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call it a large-scale disaster scene.

Perona's initial relaxed mood had completely disappeared, and she looked at the heavy rain outside with a solemn expression.

This seawater rainstorm was very unfriendly to ability users.

Although due to the amount of water, Perona only felt somewhat weak.

Strictly speaking, it didn't affect her ability to perform, but for zombies, it was a disaster.

The zombies hidden in her mansion barely escaped the calamity.

But now, they were like prisoners in a jail.

Completely unable to move, let alone go out to investigate the situation.

"Ah, who is it? I'm going to kill you!"

A huge sonic boom swept through, shaking the entire island.

The zombies panicked.

"It's bad, the master is angry!"

"Disaster... disaster has struck again! A disaster more serious than Nose-sama's disaster!"

"It's over, it's over, the end of the world is here!"

Just then, the wall of the hall suddenly crashed with a loud bang, and a human-shaped hole was smashed out.

A tall figure slowly walked in.

"What? It's not the exit?"

The zombies and Perona were dumbfounded.

He, he just crashed through the wall to get in!?

Kenpachi Zaraki looked at them and shouted, "Hey, which way did that guy who was shouting go?"

The zombies stared blankly and all pointed in one direction.

Kenpachi Zaraki nodded and said, "So it's that way, thanks!"

After speaking, he rushed in that direction.

Seeing that this guy was about to crash through the wall again, Perona couldn't help but speak up.

"Wait, aren't you an intruder?"

The zombies were terrified, shouting together in their hearts: She said it, she really said it!

"Ah?" Kenpachi Zaraki stopped and turned around, "Intruder? I guess so! But I don't have time to deal with you right now, that loud-mouthed guy is my target!"

After speaking, he was about to leave again.

Perona was furious: "Damn it, how dare you look down on me!"

She raised her hand and waved, and a large number of ghosts appeared out of thin air, rushing madly towards Kenpachi Zaraki.

Kenpachi Zaraki was unmoved, even somewhat puzzled.

The zombies wore strange smiles on their faces, waiting to watch the show.

Perona smirked slightly; she seemed to have already seen the scene of the other party falling to their knees in disappointment, their whole being sinking into depression.

However, the next scene stunned everyone.

The Negative Hollows crashed into Kenpachi Zaraki's body, as if hitting a wall, and fell back one by one.
