American Comics: BOSS Invasion

#661 - Rebecca's doubts

Rebecca silently packed up the medical supplies, not blaming Qi Shan.

Because she knew the serum had already worked.

"Where did the antidote come from?"

"That's a secret!" Qi Shan smiled.

Rebecca's anger grew: "You definitely know something! Listen, Qi Shan, I'm a police officer. There have been several unexplained deaths in Raccoon City, and it concerns human lives. You have to tell me!"

A light flashed in Qi Shan's eyes: "Raccoon City still exists?"

Rebecca asked in confusion: "What do you mean? How could Raccoon City not exist? What do you know?"

Qi Shan thought for a moment and decided to tell her some information.

"Are you sure you want to know? This matter involves many big figures behind the scenes."

Rebecca's eyes were firm: "That's my business!"

"Alright!" Qi Shan shrugged: "As far as I know, the zombies and monsters we are currently encountering are byproducts of a virus developed by the Umbrella Corporation!"

"Are you talking about the incredibly large, international mega-corporation, the Umbrella Corporation?" Rebecca asked in surprise.

In her impression, Umbrella Corporation's products had penetrated every aspect of human life, and their medical department was practically synonymous with the highest level of medical expertise in the world.

The information she usually encountered, whether it was television reports or newspaper articles, was overwhelmingly positive.

This was especially true in Raccoon City, where over 90% of the residents worked for the Umbrella Corporation.

Suddenly hearing that the Umbrella Corporation was involved, Rebecca was somewhat surprised.

"Recently, the Counter-Measures Bureau received information that varying degrees of viral leaks have occurred at Umbrella Corporation's research facilities around the world.

The police department initially intervened and lost a lot of manpower, which alerted the government.

The case landed in the hands of the Counter-Measures Bureau, drawing high attention, so they sent me to investigate the whole affair this time," Qi Shan explained seriously.

"So, the Vampire Counter-Measures Bureau isn't something you made up?" Rebecca expressed her doubt.

Qi Shan spread his hands: "..."

"Fine, I'll believe you for now, but I will investigate to find out the truth of the matter!"

"Besides this guy, do you have any other companions outside?" Qi Shan shrugged and asked.

"Edward is the pilot, and the captain is outside. Damn, I should have notified the captain first."

Rebecca obviously understood Qi Shan's meaning and took out the walkie-talkie to contact the captain.

But after connecting to the channel and calling out several times, there was no response. The walkie-talkie kept emitting harsh noises, as if there were obvious interfering radio waves nearby.

After a while, Rebecca stood up and shook her head.

"Do you want to search the surroundings? I think we'll definitely find something!" Qi Shan suggested.

"I'm going with you. My doubts about you haven't been cleared, so don't think about ditching me!" Rebecca said immediately.

Qi Shan shook his head.

Just say you're scared, no need to find a plausible reason.

This carriage was a sleeper car, but it was very narrow everywhere. There was nothing except the storage cabinet, and the other side was a spacious room.

Opening the door and walking in, the room was messy. Obviously, someone had lived here, and they left in a hurry. The bed wasn't made, and even many books on the table were left open.

Qi Shan glanced at the coffee cup; it was completely dry.

"This is Enrico, can anyone hear me?"

Rebecca quickly took out the walkie-talkie: "This is Rebecca, Captain, is that you?"

"Rebecca, listen to me, we have found the relevant documents from that escort vehicle and have now locked down the specific location of the fugitive.

The documents show that Billy Coen once killed 23 people in one go. If you encounter him, be on high alert!"

"Twenty-three people?" Rebecca was taken aback.

"He's a repeat offender. You need to be vigilant at all times. He won't hesitate to kill you..."

Before he could finish speaking, the radio waves interfered again, and the communication was cut off again.

Rebecca called out to the captain twice, but seeing no response from the other side, she could only put the walkie-talkie away again.

Qi Shan watched coldly, somewhat guessing the little girl's situation.

Her face was childish, obviously new to the job. Her age was temporarily unknown, and she hadn't broken free from the shackles of dogmatism.

When she heard that Enrico Coen had killed 23 people, a hint of horror was clearly revealed in her eyes.

Qi Shan's lips curled up slightly.

Still a newbie!

They didn't find anything in the sleeper car. The two looked at each other and then walked to the next car.

This train was obviously a special train for the Umbrella Corporation, so there weren't many carriages attached. Besides the engine, there were only three carriages attached, two seating cars and one sleeper car.

Walking forward was the engine.

The two pushed the door open and came out, just in time to see Billy Coen standing in the corner.

Having just received the captain's reminder, Rebecca was still a little nervous. Seeing the target appear, she immediately became alert with her pistol in hand.

Billy looked at Qi Shan, confirmed that the other party had no dangerous movements, and then said to Rebecca: "It's too dangerous to go any further!"

"What exactly do you know?" Rebecca asked.

"Listen, little girl, there are some very terrible things on this train right now, and I really want to get out of here, but going it alone is not advisable.

We are already weak and outnumbered. We must cooperate with each other to find a way out!"

Billy looked at Qi Shan and said, "What do you say? Buddy?"

"Don't look at me, she's the police!" Qi Shan shrugged. "Also, she hates being called little girl. I've already tried it!"

The two looked over at the same time and saw a puffed-up little face as expected.

"There's no way I'm going to cooperate with you. I won't trust a wanted criminal! I'm already a qualified police officer, and I can handle it myself!"

Billy crossed his arms: "Alright, looks like I have to let you go ahead and see for yourself! The answer you want is in the engine!" Rebecca snorted and turned directly to the stairs, pushing the door into the engine car, Qi Shan following closely behind.

He vaguely felt that there was a big guy inside, and with a flick of his hand in his arms, he had an extra golden revolver.
