Cyber Heroes

Summary at the end of Volume 3

main character:

The ancestor of martial arts who lost his memory seemed to have been the developer who initiated the technological revolution. A few months ago, his head was unearthed in a garbage dump. At that time, he didn't even remember his name, only that he had an enemy named "Yawgmoth". Now through the memories of Tao Enhai and the Eighth Martial God, part of the truth of the past has been grasped. .

Head: Half a head made of a high-strength alloy of unknown composition, and a skull recently made of ordinary alloy, with martial arts chips and storage devices inside. It houses Tao Enhai’s pair of modern “optical miracle” prosthetic eyes.

Power system: A fission furnace that has not been used by the Eighth Valkyrie was obtained, but it has not been installed yet.

Persona: "Xiaoba", the false personality mask created by the "Eighth Martial God", the true personality mask of the Martial Ancestor, based on himself. After Xiangshan loads this personality mask into his brain, he can use this personality mask to display more internal energy than he had during his lifetime.

Settings now available to the public:

The Ultimate Consensus Therapy: The continuous occurrence of theft of the country, secret chivalrous wars, and sublimation wars has led some scholars to completely deviate from the shared concept of "rationality" of the Martial Ancestor and the Father of All Machines. These scholars want to use "emotion" to reshape civilization and create consensus. They want to "transcend the barriers of reason" and "poetically inhabit society." They used the technology developed by pioneers to shorten learning time and reduce learning costs, supplemented by the research results of cognitive science, to create the ultimate consensus therapy. The reason why "Ultimate Consensus Therapy" is called "therapy" is to quickly change the common imagination of mankind and promote the innovation of the superstructure. They wanted to treat "society's mental illness." However, I don’t know why this experiment went awry in the first place. The "hatred and destructive desire for non-group members" in the "consensus memory" continued to amplify, eventually forming a spiritual plague.

Personality overlay persona: For the settings of "true personality overlay" and "false personality overlay", please refer to the summary at the end of Volume 2. However, personality coverage is not divided into "true" and "false" from the beginning. The emergence of the fourth God of War made people confirm that "using biological brains to carry the consciousness of others" is a feasible way. The fourth god of war is called the "true personality mask", and the opposite is naturally the "false nature". However, the second and third Martial Gods are not necessarily "true personality masks" in the traditional sense. Their birth process can be more inhumane than imagined.

About quotes and tributes:

The title of this volume "Who is sad for those who have lost their way" comes from Wang Bo's "Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng", which is related to the source of inspiration for the title "It is difficult to cross the mountain", "It is difficult to cross the mountain".

The preface of this volume comes from Lu Xun's "Tombstone Essays".

The song quoted in this volume is "Farewell My Concubine". Ben accidentally appeared in a fan work of this work. I thought it was very suitable to be the death sentence of the eighth warrior, so I used it.

The main objects of this volume include but are not limited to the Persona series and Ultraman.

A digression here. I thought about what state the Eighth God of War's personality cover would take as a "congratulation" when it "returns". I considered using "Ultraman's transformation screen", but in the end I chose the awakening screen from "Persona 5".

Although it is a bit surprising to suddenly switch from "Zeta's actions" to "persona 5's awakening scene", but... Zeta's master, Mr. Zero, is very good at using persona when he hears his accent. Zeta's instructor, Mr. Mebius, would use many different personas based on his accent. They once joined the Phantom Thieves on Earth, and Galaxy was there at that time.

Finally, let me share my thoughts.

First of all, I still want to thank all readers for their support, thank you for your subscriptions and rewards. And thank you for your willingness to continue reading this story.

The title of the volume "Who Pity the Lost People" actually hides a kind of compassion for the "lost people". Xiangshan, who has lost his memory, cannot remember the direction he is heading and is a "lost person". Many characters appear later in this volume, such as Bo Shu, Dr. Hu, etc., and even Zhu Xinyu, who only has a small role, are all within the category of "lost people".

In the past, when one regains his or her own path, between losses and gains, travelers often become clearer about their goals.

That's why there is this volume.

Comparing the first volume with the second volume, I am more satisfied with the structure of this volume. The first climax has been paved the way for the "Famous Hero from Beyond the World" Tao Enhai from the previous volume. After Tao Enhai, the "Eighth God of War" was naturally introduced. The trigger of the "Battle for the Eighth Martial God's Legacy" was the Tao Enhai breakout battle.

The connection between the two things is not close, but there is still a cause and effect.

The emotional climax of the whole volume, I think, should be at the moment when Xiangshan recalls the past, embraces the Eighth Martial God, and the Eighth Martial God turns into a persona and fights back.

The following chapters are also of a concluding nature.

Structurally, this volume is healthier than the second. This is good.

However, there are other areas for improvement in this volume.

In addition, I am still participating in a science fiction discussion event organized by the Future Bureau in Nanjing, so I will take one day off tomorrow.

The next volume, "Shen Martial God Reincarnation", will further reveal the story of the past and Martial God.
