Dream Guide

Chapter 1: Crazy and unrecognizable, coming into the king’s dream

Aoki's hair is a bit messy, and he wears an old gray windbreaker on top of his T-shirt. His faded jeans have no holes in the trouser legs but have threads cut open. He puts his hands in his trouser pockets, slightly hunched back, and walks calmly on the street, his feet slouching. The board dragged almost against the ground, making a tapping sound.

"Hey, look at this guy, is he crazy for wearing a windbreaker on such a hot day?"

A young couple walked by holding parasols. The man smiled and said to the girl next to him.

The girl turned back and took a serious look: "He is so handsome!"

"Hmph! He looks handsome with a chicken coop on his head?" The boy exaggeratedly described Aoki's messy hair, feeling indignant.

Aoki heard it, but didn't take it seriously, looking lazy and unconcerned.

A little girl of five or six years old held her mother's hand and turned her head three times. Her big eyes flickered and she kept staring at Aoki. Finally, she couldn't help her curiosity and asked:

"Uncle, aren't you hot?"

"Uh...not hot."

Aoki touched his messy hair and considered whether to get a haircut, but thought it would be troublesome and gave up.

The little girl's mother pushed her sweaty long hair behind her ears and smiled apologetically at Aoki. She looks very young, like a college student, which would make people think that her daughter is already that old.

Probably because it was too hot, they quickened their pace and stopped in front of the small shop.

"Are you thirsty, Meimei? Mom will buy you some water."

The young mother let go of the little girl's hand and took the backpack off her back. Just as she was about to open it, a young man with dyed yellow hair rushed over and pushed the little girl hard. Then he quickly grabbed the bag from the young mother's hand and ran away.

The little girl fell off the curb with an "Oops" sound, and a car sped past the girl with a squeak of brakes, only missing her by a small margin.

The young mother was robbed of her bag. She screamed "Ah" and wanted to chase her, but when she saw her fallen daughter, she hurried to help her. When she looked back, the gangster who snatched the bag had disappeared at the corner of the street.

The car stopped, the driver rolled down the window, stretched out his head and cursed: "You don't have eyes when you walk!" Then he stepped on the accelerator and drove away.

"Meimei, are you okay? Meimei!" The young mother looked anxious.

"Mom, it doesn't hurt, Mom, go catch the bad guy!" The little girl was frightened, but she comforted her mother.

Except for Aoki, there was no one else on the street.

Aoki walked to them and knelt down to look at the little girl's injuries.

"Your name is Meimei? It's a nice name!" Aoki asked while squeezing the girl's slightly swollen knee, "Does it hurt?"

"Well, my name is Meimei. Meimei doesn't hurt. What's your uncle's name?"

"My name is Aoki." Aoki put down his beautiful calf and said to the young mother, "The bones are fine. Just go back and apply some medicine."

The young mother nodded gratefully.

"Meimei, just wait here while uncle goes to help you find your mother's bag, okay?"

Before the mother and daughter could react, Aoki had already stood up and walked towards the street, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

"Mom, isn't Uncle Aoki very powerful?"

"Well, maybe, yes."

"Hey, you two, do you want to call the police?" The proprietress of the canteen popped her head out and asked.

"Oh, wait... wait."

The young mother seemed to have something to hide. After a moment's hesitation, she took her daughter's hand and chased her around the corner where Aoki disappeared.

"What strange people!" The proprietress of the canteen watched the mother and daughter leave and put down the phone in her hand.

In a dark alley filled with garbage, a boy with yellow hair unzipped his backpack and looked inside, with a smile on his face.

A crow flew out of nowhere and called "quack" at him twice.

"Fuck, what a bad luck, get out!" Huang Mao cursed.

"Hey! You snatched someone's bag and left like this?"

Huang Mao was startled and turned around to see a strange person.

This man had messy hair and was wearing a pair of straight-leg jeans that were popular only in the last century. The legs of the trousers were cut short and threaded at the bottom. He also wore a windbreaker on hot days. He put his hands in his trouser pockets and leaned lazily against the wall.

"What does it have to do with you?" Huang Mao said viciously.

"What's wrong with a young person? He has to steal and rob. It's just robbery. Why do you push the child on the road?"

"You kid want to meddle in other people's business?" Huang Mao put down his bag, took out a switchblade, showed the sharp blade, and swung it skillfully around in his hand, "Be careful of splattering you with blood!"

Aoki raised his head and looked at the sky: "It's broad daylight!"

"Haha!" Huang Mao shook the knife, shook his legs, and threatened, "This is my territory. Let me tell you, there are no cameras in this area. Everything here is garbage. Even if I kill you, no one will know. ."

"Really?" Aoki was happy.

"It seems like there really aren't any cameras!"

"No one either!"

"Nothing but garbage is garbage!"

"Even if I kill you, no one will know?"

Aoki squinted and muttered to himself, as if he were talking to a pile of garbage. He gently took his hands out of his trouser pockets and stretched lazily.

"You really shouldn't have pushed that kid."

Huang Mao was upset by the nagging words of the guy in front of him. Is this person sick? He didn't run away from a mental hospital, right?

The crow behind him cawing twice more.

Damn, what a bad luck!

Huang Mao didn't want to be serious with a lunatic.

If I can’t afford to offend him, can I still afford to hide?

He spat at the crow sitting on the garbage pile and was about to leave when he suddenly felt something was wrong.

Why did it get so dark? The houses and tree shadows in the distance disappeared, the long and narrow alley disappeared, and there were only piles of black garbage bags around.

Every garbage bag was bulging, and there seemed to be something squirming inside.

Then the bag burst, and a thick liquid flowed out, like asphalt or like the blood of a rotting corpse.

"You really shouldn't have pushed that kid."

The crazy chattering sounded in his ears again. He turned around but couldn't see the strange man. Apart from the crow, there was only garbage around.

The liquid flowed to his feet and soon covered his ankles. He backed away in fright, but the black viscous liquid had already overflowed the entire street.

He ran as fast as he could to escape the street. But his feet were too heavy to lift, and his legs seemed to be filled with lead, and he seemed to be running in slow motion.

"You really shouldn't have pushed that little girl."

"There are no cameras here."

"There's just trash here."

"Rubbish……"

The sounds are becoming more and more unreal, and there is more and more garbage.

The black liquid surged in like a wave, covering Huang Mao's neck and overflowing into his mouth and nose. He smelled the smell of death.

He raised his head and struggled with his last effort.

At the last moment when the sewage flooded his eyes, he saw the crow fluttering its wings and flying away into the distance with a squawk.

"Fuck, what a bad luck!"

With the last complaint in his heart, he sank into the endless abyss.
