Fox in the Penalty Area

1 simple 7 million word testimonial

A simple 7 million word speech

Seven million words.

After twenty years of writing, the book with the largest number of words was born.

When I first opened this book, I really didn't expect that this book could contain so many words.

I didn’t expect how many words I could write, but I certainly didn’t expect to write seven million words.

Especially when I thought my creative career had begun to decline, seven million words was almost unimaginable to me.

But when I started writing, gradually I realized that seven million words was not an exaggeration.

After all, I'm building a world almost from scratch, and a lot of it needs to be praised in terms of word count.

I recently watched "The Wandering Earth 2". It is a movie with a high amount of information. A screenshot may contain a huge amount of information.

Such a dense amount of information resulted in a running time of nearly three hours for the film, and eighty minutes of footage was cut off because there was no money for special effects.

I also wanted to show off as much of the world of Forbidden Fox as possible.

As a novelist, I am luckier than a director because I don’t have to spend money on special effects for my novels.

The things that render the world in my head are my hands and my keyboard.

Just give me enough time and I can slowly reveal the world.

Thank you also for giving me this patience. When I said I needed to adjust, rewrite, and save, you all gave me support and understanding, allowing me to calmly "render" what was in my mind word by word.

Thank you for your real-money subscriptions, rewards, and votes, which give me the confidence to complete this story at my own pace. Instead of changing the writing style due to self-doubt, or simply failing...

So these seven million words were created together by you and me.

thank you all.

In addition, there is some controversy about the new characters appearing in this volume, so I will explain a little bit.

At the beginning of this last volume, I really planned to use twenty or thirty chapters to briefly explain what the several main characters - mainly Chinese players - have experienced in the past four years.

It's so simple that using an outline for each chapter can review a person's four years.

I have also written five chapters like this - five chapters after the first four chapters of this volume - in these five chapters I have written about the pasts of Zhang Qinghuan, Luo Kai, Peng Weijun, and Parotti.

But the more I write, the more I feel something is wrong.

This "outline" style of writing cannot actually explain their past clearly. At least what you see is only the narration rather than the specific pictures. In fact, you cannot feel their feelings.

Moreover, regarding what has happened to the Pirates team in the past four years, the amount of information that can be explained in an outline style is really limited, and many things are actually unclear.

So I decided to overturn the five chapters I had written before and seriously consider shaping the new character and giving him a past and a future, rather than just a name in the outline.

Here is Nestor Farias.

He is an important role in the turning point of Madrid Pirates, and I really can't write him off.

My wife and I have discussed many times about his impact on the pirates and the specific development.

Because the character was inspired by my son.

Yes, why it makes everyone so annoying is because my son is so annoying in some aspects.

There is obviously a right way and I have taught him the right way, but he refuses to listen and insists on persisting in his wrong way, even if he is scolded, punished and beaten for it.

The same mistake, just punished, was repeated the next day.

Since the epidemic started in December last year, the children have been at home for three months.

These three months have been a three-month period for our whole family.

Until now, my wife has not come out of that anxious and depressed mood. I even thought about taking her to Yunnan to relax. Anyway, I carry my laptop on my back and can code wherever I go.

But she gets agitated whenever she sees the child.

So when I decided to use my child as a prototype, I discussed with my wife for a long time how to handle the development of this character.

Although my wife doesn’t understand football, she knows how to educate children...

Although my son is very annoying, he is my biological child after all and cannot be abandoned, so I still have to educate him in the hope that he can change and progress.

The same goes for this role.

Although Farias is not Parotti's son, if he wants to win the championship, he must restore unity and calm to the team.

And to restore unity and calm, Farias must be changed and cannot really be abandoned.

So even though there's a lot to hate about this guy, he's not a good-for-nothing asshole.

Education can still be saved.

This leads to many plots that follow.

And through Farias, it can also bring out what this Buccaneers team has experienced in the past four years, the successes and failures.

It's much better than me just throwing out an outline. It's more skillful and natural.

Farias is like a rope on which many beads are strung, and those beads reflect a personal story.

Just because this is the last volume, I didn’t bother with a lot of areas that could have been better.

I know some readers are eager to watch the Chinese team's World Cup journey.

If I just wrote about the World Cup, there would be no problem.

But I will have a lot of regrets in my heart.

To me this is a complete world and it's not going to end just because of the last volume.

Even if the book is finished, the world will continue to exist and function.

Then everyone here should at least have a clear face.

He has his joys and sorrows.

So I stuck to the writing method of the first seven volumes and wrote the last volume using a "watering" and "slow-paced" approach.

As a result, I may not be able to complete the book in March, my 20th anniversary in the industry.

But so what?

Compared with an anniversary, it is obviously more important to me to write this book completely.

Here I would like to make it clear to everyone that I will maintain this rhythm and writing habit until I type the last word of this book.

"Water" and "slowness" have never been my shortcomings, but my advantages.

I think the reason why this book is good-looking and has a good reputation is also because of "water" and "slowness".

If I use 70,000 words to write 700,000 words about campus football, and then omit two volumes of domestic football content, and let Hu Lai go directly to Europe to play football... The water is out of water, and it is fast enough, but where And what about the world in this book?

Having read the first seven million words, I think the last few hundred thousand words are not far behind, right?

After reading some of the recent comments, I still want to say that you have to have confidence in me. I am an old author who has been writing football novels for twenty years. I have experienced successes and troughs, detours, and ups and downs.

At the age of forty, I cannot say that I have lived life clearly. But at least I still have some judgment of my own when it comes to writing a book.

Finally, thank you all again for your understanding and support.

The next time I write a reflection, I think it will be the time to finish the book. Let’s meet and see you then.
