Fox in the Penalty Area
Wake up and talk to everyone
PS, this is a single chapter I wrote before going to bed after finishing the text last night, and it was only published after I woke up today.
※※※
The Sino-Korean war is not over yet. I am sorry that with my current ability, the outbreak can only last so long.
When I said these words, I thought of when I wrote "The Hero of the Forbidden Area" and "The Winner Is King", three, five, and ten shifts a day, there was a feeling of "the past is like the wind".
Back then, Lin Hai Tingtao was able to update one million words a month, and 25,000 words a day for ten consecutive days...
Back then, I was also an author who could write 4.6 million words in only ten months.
And now I write less than half of that in a year.
Some people said that I was not short of money, so the speed went down.
Really not, who thinks there is too much money?
As long as I can increase the speed, I can do three or five shifts a day, so can the results of my book be like this?
But I can't write fast enough.
On the one hand, it is because of physical reasons. It is hard for me to think about sitting in front of the computer for more than ten hours a day when I was writing "The Winner Is King" without being distracted.
Now I may write for half an hour and then get out of the state, which may be a sign of lack of energy.
On the other hand, the reason is that as I grow older, more family responsibilities are on my shoulders, so I can't just think about stories, plots and characters like I used to.
Now I need to think about the various problems of my children, my wife, and my parents. They are not big problems. Most of them are trivial matters, but trivial matters are very energy-intensive. Such trivial things make it difficult for me to fully immerse myself in my novels. .
Take the day I announced the outbreak of the third watch as an example.
It was Saturday, and my wife and I were out early in the morning with our baby, taking him to a LEGO robot coding competition.
He races, and I catch up in the upstairs café and code.
After an hour the game was over, and I packed my things and went to join them for lunch.
After eating out, I drove home at about 1:30 and took a break. My wife took the children to help with homework, and I took the time to code.
At 2:30, he packed up his things and went out again, taking his children to participate in the karate ceremony - he has been practicing this all the time. At first, he hoped that he could exercise his body, but now it has become a habit.
During the ribbon-giving ceremony, I found a table and chair outside a bakery next to me and sat down to continue typing.
Next to it was the ribbon-giving ceremony, with music and the shouts of the host, and I was codewording against the sun more than ten meters away.
It didn't take long to write, maybe less than half an hour. My son was going to tie his tie on stage, so I packed up my things again and went to take pictures with him with my bag on my back.
Then I changed places, found a coffee shop and had dinner by the way.
This is the longest time I can code words continuously in this day, from four o'clock in the afternoon to eight o'clock in the evening-eat dinner in between.
It was after I had dinner in the cafe that I swiped to everyone's chapters and book review petitions, and I agreed to everyone's outbreak.
At eight o'clock, I packed up my things and left to pick up my son at the place where he learned to play football—because it was just upstairs from the cafe, so I didn't need to change places, otherwise I would have to find another place.
After receiving the child, I drove the child and his wife home, let the child wash up, and I turned on the computer to continue typing.
I have been writing until 1:30 in the morning before I finish writing this day's update.
This situation of always being interrupted, always having to change places, always having to pack up, get up and leave, find another place to sit down and code words, it is really difficult for me to immerse myself in the book, so Every time I have to find the state and enter the state again, I finally enter the state, and I will be interrupted after writing for a while...
And such days are almost the norm this summer vacation.
I'm not complaining to everyone, I just want you to understand what the daily life of a full-time online novel author is like.
And seven years ago, when I wrote "The Winner Is King", I had no children, I had just married, and I was still living with my parents. I can start writing every day after I wake up and eat breakfast. I write until I eat at noon. I continue to write after I eat at noon. I write until I eat at night.
During this period, apart from eating and going to the bathroom, nothing can disturb me. At that time, I was still young, full of energy, and extremely vigorous.
And the day I just described, have you noticed that I have no time to accompany my wife at all, and even when I go to bed, I usually go to bed when she falls asleep.
Before, my wife was going through with me, but later she found that she couldn't make it through me... she could only retreat.
Sometimes I can't chat with her in a day except for the necessary communication.
She is actually waiting to be able to talk and chat with me every night when she goes to bed. But I'm sorry, most of the time I can't even meet her request - unless I talk to her about books. Well, even though my wife doesn't watch football or read the books I write, I still talk to her when I'm caving, and she's helped out with a lot of great ideas.
If at the end of the day, I can go to bed before one o'clock in the morning, I will be in bed early.
In addition to this kind of trivial life affecting my coding speed, in addition to my body affecting my coding speed, this book itself also makes it difficult for me to get up fast.
Let me report to you, under normal circumstances, how I write a book in a day.
In addition to the kind of running around and writing in every corner that I just mentioned.
After I get up every morning, I will re-read all the content I wrote the day before. On the one hand, I will check for typos, and on the other hand, I will revise and modify it. If I have a better idea, I will overturn and rewrite some parts. Why not check for changes immediately after writing?
This is to let me withdraw from the emotions and mentality of writing the content on the first day, and check and examine the content I wrote yesterday from another angle, and maybe there will be new discoveries.
Maybe the thing that stuck in my mind yesterday, suddenly figured it out today.
Because I went to bed late, I got up late, and it was almost eleven o'clock after the revision, and I started new content at this time.
If you are in good condition, you can finish one chapter before dinner; if you are not in good condition, you can finish one chapter before ten o'clock in the evening.
The state is not good, it is likely that I wrote hard today, and I lay in bed at night thinking about it over and over again, and I will cancel it and rewrite it when I wake up the next day.
This is also the reason why I must have a manuscript—I am not the kind of author who is extremely talented and writes books in one go. I will often get stuck, will encounter bottlenecks, and will find that several chapters I have written before have been invalidated...
If there is no manuscript, you can only stop updating.
Some readers said that I have two updates every day, one chapter in the morning and one chapter in the afternoon. I have no passion and no hope at all.
But that's all I can do my best to maintain.
When this book had the least amount of manuscripts saved, after setting the automatic update of the two chapters the next day, there was only one chapter saved.
From saving only one chapter to being able to give you three consecutive updates in these two days, it took me a month to slowly accumulate the saved manuscripts.
There are also readers who say that you write slowly and still write water.
When it comes to "water", I think we may have different understandings of "water".
For some readers, if you don't write about a football match or the main character's goal, it's water.
But for me, only writing about the game and only writing about the protagonist's goal is water.
Game after game, according to the schedule of the five major European leagues, write down round after round, the protagonists score goals in each game, and collect various championships and personal honors season after season...
It's easy to write such content, but I don't like to write it.
This is not a football novel, this is a football strategy.
"Fox in the Restricted Area" is all empty, why should I write this according to the rhythm of real football? Why can't I write about the stories and the fate of the characters that revolve around football?
What looks off the field is just as important as anything that has nothing to do with football.
Because they, along with the game itself, shape each character.
There are only competitions, and Hu Lai is just a scoring machine. He has no origin and no destination. From the very beginning, he just wanted to enter the school team and now he just wants to win a championship. How did the changes happen step by step? It cannot be reflected in the game.
What is his living environment, what is the character of his parents, how did such parents and living environment shape him, who appeared around him, those who liked him, those who hated him... everything can be shaped together Make a whole Hole.
Otherwise, what everyone sees is just a "paper man", which looks like a person from the front, but it's just a cardboard from the back.
Hu Lai is like this, so is Li Qingqing, Li Ziqiang, Xie Lan, Hu Lixin, Zhao Kangming, Wang Guangwei, Zhang Qinghuan, Chen Xingyi, etc., etc., many people who appear in my book so far are like this.
Of course, in view of space issues, less important characters will have fewer scenes and fewer descriptions of their surroundings.
But the meaning is that, no one is isolated only in the football game plot.
Without those descriptions other than football, and those described as "water" by some readers, this character will not stand up, it will be meaningless, and it will be just a symbol.
For example, if there were no previous plots from entering the Olympic training team, how could Hu Lai's hat-trick against the South Korean team in the end produce enough explosive effect? Can I just say a word about the grievances between China and South Korea before the game?
I said at the end of the first volume that even when my grades were particularly poor, I insisted on following my original ideas and wrote the campus football plot in my mind without changing a single word.
So now I still say the same thing, no matter how many people don’t like the plots outside the stadium, I will still insist on writing, complete and full, because every word in these plots is my construction of this world The cornerstone is the clouds and wind in the sky of this world, the fish in the water, the soil, the green plants, the bougainvillea blooming on the balcony, and the sunset glow in the group photo...
Without these, the world is incomplete and unconvincing.
Without these, it would be meaningless for me to write this story, so I might as well extract the central idea in one sentence and tell you, and then I can declare the book to be over.
I wrote this book, not...or not just want to write about how a Hu Lai will kill all sides in the overhead world football.
I also want to put my personal thoughts on football, life, family, children, dreams, love... and many things over the years into a book and a world.
When I read the books I like, I feel like I am immersed in the world created by the author, and I can't extricate myself. When the book is finished, there will be a strong sense of melancholy, and I will feel empty in my heart.
At the beginning, I felt this way after watching "Fu Han" in one breath for several days.
When I wrote my overhead football novel, I also wrote it with the idea of "I want to create a world".
So although some plots may seem unnecessary to some readers, I still write because I know it is necessary.
I have my own persistence and stubbornness on this point.
And are there many plots outside of these games? I don't think it's too much. If it's necessary to write, it's not too many words.
Just say that from the end of the Chinese League One last season to the current China-Korea battle, some readers have counted, saying that there are no games in so many chapters.
But I didn't write the book according to how many chapters there must be competitions. I arranged the content according to character creation and plot advancement.
From Chapter 66 to Chapter 103, in nearly forty chapters, there are only two insignificant games, one is the last round of the Chinese Premier League, a ceremonial game, and the other is a warm-up match for the training team .
These two games can basically be regarded as no games.
What did I write about other than these two games?
Hu Lai went home, eased the relationship with his parents, tried to reunite with Coach Li, and gradually developed his interaction and relationship with Li Qingqing; the new contract with the club was finalized; Hu Lai's mother and grandfather reconciled; Take a look at the general situation of world football; use games similar to FM Football Manager to visualize Hu Lai's ability, and at the same time lay the groundwork for future plots, and the football game itself is also necessary to shape this world; from China The attention of the famous team; the intersection of Chen Xingyi and Luo Kai's respective futures and fates and Hu Lai; the Olympic training camp is equivalent to opening a new copy, new teammates and new characters appear one after another, and use the training camp to continue to develop with Li Qingqing; through Guo Junfu Describe Hu Lai’s current ability from the perspective of Hu Lai; a party not only reflects Hu Lai’s ability, but also shows the easter eggs and tacit understanding of his relationship with Li Qingqing; through the East Asian Cup, describe the grievances and hatred between Chinese football and Korean football in this time and space , and bring out the two main opponents in this age group in the future... In the end, the blockbuster in the China-Korea war was born.
With so much content, I can finish it in a few hundred words in such a simple summary. It seems that the content of the previous dozens of chapters is really quite watery.
But just looking at these summaries, can we really understand the world and characters in this novel?
Or I can change the way of writing, Hu Lai’s date with Li Qingqing at home, I will mention a paragraph in the text “Hu Lai and Li Qingqing made an appointment to meet, had a meal, after the meal they went shopping and talked about each other Hu Lai felt a little melancholy and disappointed because Li Qingqing was about to go to the World Cup, but he didn't even know where the World Cup door was opening... After returning home, Hu Lai received a call from Uncle Yong, telling him that the contract had been negotiated, So he said goodbye to his parents and went back to the club..."
Is this a novel?
Possibly, but not the kind of novel I want to write.
The novel I want to write may be a bit cumbersome, tirelessly describing things other than the protagonist, from the perspective of serialization, it may be watery and slow-paced.
But when I write, I think about the effect of this book as a whole when it is finished.
I hope that when the time comes, everyone will be willing to read it again, and watch it more times. At that time, if you read it in one breath, you will read more things.
Of course, I also understand readers' opinions and dissatisfaction on this, for example, some people say that if it can explode, everything is actually nothing.
I agree with this statement 100%.
But the problem is that I can’t write this book with both quality and quantity. Let’s not talk about whether I can still make ten or five changes a day, even if I have three changes a day, it’s hard for me to do it.
It is true that in order to ensure my current quality, the speed cannot be improved.
Quality and quantity, in many cases it is a very helpless paradox.
Of course, I also hope that I can change three times and four times a day, and ensure that the quality will not decline.
It's just that "a concubine can't do it"!
Occasionally, I mean occasionally, we can have an explosion in an important match like this time, and if the manuscript is allowed, it is considered very good for me now...
That's basically it, because I want to write where I want to write, so it looks a bit trivial and messy.
After all, this is a single chapter written for the purpose of chatting casually with everyone, which is different from writing the text of a novel. I don't have to carefully arrange the plot of the story, and I don't have to think about which paragraph is better to put in the front and which paragraph is better to put in the back. I didn't even refine the typos...
This nearly 5,000 words was written before going to bed after I finished writing the text for the whole day—even so, it was already 1:40 in the morning on August 25th when I wrote this.
My wife was already asleep. Before I went to bed, I hugged her and apologized to her. After all, strictly speaking, it was Qixi Festival...
My main purpose of writing this single chapter is to hope that all of us can understand each other.
When you see that the plot is not advancing at the speed you expected, please don't rush to scold. If it is more difficult to chase, you can turn on the automatic subscription to raise it first, one week and one month is fine.
All I can promise is to do my best to write this book well, and hope that the quality will not decline by the time it is finished.
I will create this world according to my plan and rhythm, everyone must have confidence in me, I will write slowly, you read slowly. I don't pre-design the word count, nor set the length.
The writing will be over when it is time to end, whether it is three million words or seven million words, it doesn't matter.
Now there are more than one million words and I haven’t gone abroad. I don’t care about this kind of thing at all, because the story is going smoothly, Hu Lai is growing up, his football career has just started, and his future life is still very long.
The road is at your feet, just walk, no matter how long the road is?
When you get to the finish line and look back, you will find that the road has bumps and bumps, as well as magnificent legends and ordinary life with wild flowers on the roadside.
This is the story of Hu Lai, and it is also the world he lives in.
At that time, I hope that when you and I leave this world, you will feel a little melancholy, a little empty, and a little satisfied.
thanks.
Finally, I would like to present to you a picture of the starry sky taken by the study window at two o'clock in the middle of the night after I finished writing the single chapter yesterday.
Although I didn't get the Milky Way I wanted to shoot, I'm 100% sure that the place with the most dense stars must be the Milky Way.
