'Not bad I think? But [Temporal Deceleration] would have been a finer skill than this one,' I thought as I went to the bathroom and cleaned myself up. While I do need to reach the Campus to meet Caroline in the next 25 minutes, I think I can do it within the time limit if I increase the right stats.

'And that should do it,' I thought as I looked at my status

As for the skill points, I decided to keep it for now and use it after I get to [Level 30]. Though the increase in the amount of Exp required to up the next level was something else, to be honest.

"All right. I hope this journey will be fruitful,"I spoke out with a positive mindset as I got out of the shower and wore a neat pair of gray pants and white shirt, over white sneakers. It wasn't my usual style, but it should do for the moment.

Getting out of the apartment, I called George to check up on things and after talking with him for a while; I found out that Walter had been in the hospital all night yesterday with his father and sister. He will be spending some time with them for now, which honestly was a good thing to do.

As for Alex, Amara was taking good care of him and, despite being on professional terms, they both were helping each other quite fine. I knew Alex was way more mature than most of the adults I have known, but it was still refreshing to see him cooperate without making any fuss.

As for White, I could only observe him from the sidelines as of now. But I will make sure to come back and help him out as well.

I got out of the building and booked a cab, which took me to the Campus, albeit 5 minutes later than I planned and I hoped it didn't upset Caroline.

Getting out of the cab, I made my way to the campus cafeteria, where a pink-haired girl was sitting all by herself in the open part of the dinery. Those white chairs looked quite scenic as she adjusted her big circular white hat, trying not to let it fall from her head.

"Hey! Sorry for the wait,"I said as I reached her and sat on the opposite side as my eyes fixated on the luggage before I turned back to Caroline,"you seemed to be packing quite a bit."

"For my brother and sister… they helped me quite a bit in the last timeline,"she spoke before she turned silent as she looked around for a while as if she were lost in her own thoughts.

"Are you upset about something?" I asked, as I clearly didn't see her happy.

"Ah! No… it was just that in the previous time when I met them, I mean before the regression, they were all just… not what I thought they were,"she spoke in words that were honestly hard to figure out. Though I patiently waited since I knew Caroline had a habit of speaking her mind before saying things in a simpler way.

"What I mean is that they were all really… I used to think they were against me and using me here and there. Even my sister who was close to me, I used to feel like she too would snap back at me when she would get the chance to do so but… Sigh… I couldn't be more wrong than that," she sighed, getting more upset the more she spoke.

"What happened?" I asked curiously.

"You remember Ray, right?" she asked as a sudden hate filled her chest and a disgusted look appeared on her face.

"The guy who gave me an HIV dose, huh?" I asked, and she nodded before continuing,"he was there, like usual, trying to get to me as much as he can. But the ones whom I thought hated me stood beside me till the very end as they protected me from him." As she spoke, my expression turned serious as I looked at her. She looked at me, gulped a little before continuing,

"He first made an unavoidable deal with my father, which he had to agree to. Later on, he manipulated the soldiers into joining them and then took our entire platoon. In the end, when things got out of control, it was my family who fought and created a way for me to run away from there. I successfully escaped from there, but I did not get to hear from my family again. A few days later, when I was planning to get back to Meria and look for you… I woke up here in the past…"

I was angry… disgusted a little… and mostly furious at that guy. That fucking pathetic piece of shit… I think it is about time I make a decision about what to do with him. That fucker just crossed the line by doing what he did.

"Where is he now?" I asked as I looked at her and she pondered a little before speaking,

"He is at his home, back in Rimenawa."

A slight evil smile formed on my face as I nodded,"all the more we should leave for there as soon as possible." Though she sighed as she spoke,"Well… about that. Actually, the earliest flight that I could book is going to take about 4 hours from now on, so we still have time to kill. On that note, you said you will tell me once you get into campus why you want to visit there."

She looked at me as her mood shifted a little, and her curiosity got up. I chuckled at her a little before speaking,

"A few things happened…" And then I started telling her about what happened with my Mother and how I found out a couple of things from Angela. I forgot that Caroline does not know Angela, so I told her in bits of that too before she sighed,

"Another girl, huh? Well… I should get used to it…"

Ignoring that, I continued telling her everything that had happened and even though she heard it all from the beginning to the end; she wasn't shocked. And the main reason to that was,

"Hmmm… I figured something like that was there."

"Why do?" I asked in slight confusion, and she pondered over it before speaking,

"Instincts? Well… that won't cut it. But it was something similar. Like how my family members were overall stronger than the others and how I once saw grandma lifting my uncle with her barebone hands or how she became younger as time passed. There were many things to be honest, but sadly, even after the Apocalypse, my family didn't bother to tell me about it…"

Hearing her words, I… just nodded at her. It wasn't that odd, to be honest. If you look at it carefully, the only reason I did not know about my family being involved in something like that was because of my negligible time together with them.

"So this Angela told you about my family being involved with the monsters, huh?" she asked again as I nodded at her before she spoke in a polite manner,

"Hey, Michael… Can you let me deal with this on my own? Both my family and Ray? I know it's something you have to do on a personal level, but… I want to finish things in my own way." Hearing her, obviously I wanted to stop her, but on a second thought I said,"I will watch things from the sidelines and if anything goes wrong anywhere, I will intervene. If you can comply with that, then I guess I can be a spectator of your way of handling things."

"Thank you, Michael,"she smiled as she nodded at me before she asked,"shall we eat something in the meantime?" "Sure," I answered.
