#113 - Flower snake challenges again
Chapter 113: The Flower Snake's Re-Challenge
(Happy weekend!!)
Alan, watching from the sidelines, felt an itch and eagerly rubbed his hands together. He simply walked into the center of the square and issued an invitation to Flower Snake.
"How about you and I have a match?"
To be honest, except for when he fought the Bone Crusher, when Alan used all his strength, he hadn't encountered a real opponent who could fight him in a long time. Even in the battle with the Bone Crusher, Alan was more focused on survival. Although he seemed to launch several attacks against the Bone Crusher, he was actually retreating while advancing, otherwise he wouldn't have survived the powerful magic.
"Alright!"
Flower Snake readily agreed. Alan had always been his target. This time, he had ventured out for more than two months, largely to close the gap between himself and Alan. Now that he had made a breakthrough, he naturally wanted to see how much closer they had gotten and how far he still had to go.
After dismissing Dasha and A Xiao, who were still dazed and looking dejected, Alan and Flower Snake cleared the square again and stood facing each other.
"Here I come!!"
This time, Flower Snake launched the attack first. He knew there was a gap in strength between himself and Alan, so he didn't stand on ceremony. He pushed off the stone bricks with his legs, and his nimble figure unfolded.
Alan responded to all changes with constancy. He hadn't even been able to see Flower Snake's attack movements clearly just now, knowing that there was already a gap in speed. Therefore, he simply stopped moving, not letting the opponent lead him by the nose, but stood on the spot, his anger permeating every part of his body, making his senses more acute.
The sound of the wind came from behind. The hair that had barely stood up bristled again. Alan held his sword in his right hand and swung it backward, easily blocking Flower Snake's first attack as the blades crossed. Just then, another sword wind stabbed from the left rear towards his ribs. Alan turned his head and leaned to the side, a long sword brushing past his waist.
Flower Snake retracted his swords, crossing them in front of his chest. Sword flowers left afterimages in the air. When the sword flowers disappeared, his swords were like scissors, stabbing straight at Alan's neck, the sword wind making Alan's neck feel cold. Alan turned around and parried forward with his sword, holding the swords less than five inches in front of him. Then, he exerted force with his muscles and pushed outward, pushing Flower Snake and his swords back two feet.
Flower Snake was light on his feet, using his toes to tap the ground twice to dissipate the force. Then, with a change of direction, he left only an afterimage in the corner of Alan's eyes, disappearing from Alan's sight again. When Alan sensed him again, he had already charged back to Alan's left ribs with his swords.
The clanging sound of metal collisions echoed. Flower Snake moved around Alan like a butterfly, while Alan held a giant sword like a pillar in the middle of a stream, no matter how Flower Snake wielded his swords into a rain of swords, they always returned without success in front of his broad and heavy greatsword.
It wasn't until Alan adapted to Flower Snake's speed that his counterattack made Flower Snake somewhat difficult to parry.
"Clang! Clang!"
The simplified version of the double slash was now used by Alan without any fanfare. He had just knocked Flower Snake's swords away, and without any charging action, he suddenly accelerated, starting his first movement, chasing directly after the swinging swords, a greatsword leading the way, stabbing towards Flower Snake.
Flower Snake took two steps back in succession, but he couldn't avoid Alan's thrust that hadn't deviated at all. He retreated while holding his swords with both hands, placing them against Alan's greatsword. The swords began to draw arcs in the air, small circles enveloping the greatsword. Before long, the heavy greatsword began to vibrate and shake under the traction, losing its precision.
Alan was also decisive. Seeing that the greatsword's strike had not succeeded and had been broken, he didn't insist. Immediately, he flicked his wrist, and the greatsword immediately stopped its forward thrust, easily knocking the swords away with a left and right movement. Turning a thrust into a slash was easy and convenient for Alan, but Flower Snake's response was even simpler. He dodged the blow with a tap of his feet, but the stone bricks under his feet suffered, a heavy slash cutting off several hard stone bricks on the spot.
"Ha!!"
Taking advantage of the opportunity when Alan's move was old, Flower Snake's swords danced again. The sword moves that had defeated Dasha and A Xiao were used, and Alan's eyes were filled with flying sword light, not knowing which sword light was the real body and which was the illusion.
"Hey!!"
Alan gathered his Qi in his dantian and finally used his true ultimate move. After slightly bending his legs, he pushed off, the stone bricks under his feet breaking directly from the middle, and Alan's figure turned into a cannonball out of the barrel, clearing the way with a greatsword, all the sword flowers in front of him being directly split open. The fierce sword wind stirred in the center of the square, turning into a breeze, blowing up countless dust.
The heavy slash could better exert the essential characteristics of the Berserker's rage explosion. Although Alan's heavy slash didn't achieve the imposing manner of being high above, it was infused with most of the fighting spirit on Alan's body, a slash that mobilized the strength of his whole body, instantly splitting away Flower Snake's countless sword flowers. Even Flower Snake, who hadn't accurately estimated the force, accidentally collided his left-hand sword with Alan's greatsword. After hearing a clang, countless silver lights exploded and scattered in all directions, but the sword was directly broken by Alan's greatsword.
The scrapping of a long sword didn't weaken the impact Flower Snake received much. His figure stagnated for a breath in the impact, which was enough for Alan to seize the flaw. The figure of the greatsword rushed in front of Flower Snake's eyes, and when he wanted to dodge again, it was too late.
"Thump!!!!"
A muffled impact sounded. The greatsword grazed Flower Snake's body and slashed into the hard ground, a deep slash mark slowly extending towards the distance. Countless stone bricks that had just been laid not long ago suffered, turning into scattered stone chips, hitting Flower Snake, Alan, and even the children watching from afar, causing a burst of shouts.
"I still lost."
There was no frustration in Flower Snake's eyes, but more excitement and fighting spirit. At this time, admitting defeat to Alan was only temporary. Sooner or later, he would defeat Alan. He had the confidence and determination to do so.
"It's just a pity about this long sword."
Flower Snake's long sword was chosen by him with Alan's money when he was in Thornsburg. Although it was just a defective product eliminated by the adventurers, he had long been accustomed to using it for so long. Now that it had been destroyed by Alan, he could only pick a new long sword for backup, but it would take a long time to break it in to see if it was suitable.
"It's okay, I'll go through our warehouse to see if there's a suitable one, and I'll replace it for you!"
Alan said this, but he still felt a little guilty in his heart. He had gotten too excited in the fight and forgot to control his strength. It's just that there wasn't a blacksmith in the tribe who could make weapons, so it would be difficult to find a suitable long sword in the tribe's current ironware inventory.
There was no way. The Greenwood Tribe was initially poor and destitute. They had finally obtained some ironware from human caravans, and they had also seized some when they ambushed the Kobold Fang and others, but when the Bone Crusher and others broke through, most of the ironware was snatched away by them. Now, Alan only had some good goods that he had secretly hidden.
"Hmph! Bad guy! Bad guy!!"
The originally good atmosphere ended with a little brat throwing a few pieces of gravel at Alan and the others. Under Flower Snake's apologetic gaze, Alan could only leave the mountainous area in embarrassment with Dasha and the others, leaving Flower Snake to appease the angry Kehl.
