Allen once again plunged into the depths of Green Lake, starting his day of cultivation. After dealing with the jackalwere problem, Allen was in an extremely good mood, and even his cultivation felt refreshing, without any sense of hardship or fatigue.
The silt at the bottom of Green Lake had almost been completely cleared away by Allen, Flower Snake, and the others, replaced by weathered rocks commonly found in the wilderness, covering the lakebed. This ensured that even if Allen and the others made big movements at the bottom of the lake, the lake water wouldn't become turbid and foul-smelling. In return, the soil quality of dozens of acres of fertile land on the shore was improved, and Dajiang, Black Head, and the others steadily advanced to level 8.
However, for Allen, the training at the bottom of the lake had already been adapted to by his body, and its effect on improving his strength gradually diminished. Now, even if Allen held his breath and engaged in half an hour of high-intensity training at the bottom of the lake, it might not bring much improvement. However, the improvement of strength was originally a gradual process, and Allen never thought of becoming a legend in one step. He only remembered a principle that Regis had told him: everything requires perseverance to achieve what others cannot.
After completing a thousand heavy strikes underwater, Allen resurfaced to breathe. Flower Snake happened to be with Kerr and some of the children from the tribe, playing by the lake.
Flower Snake was lying on the green grass beside the weeping willow, a dagger twirling in his hand, carving a piece of ironwood log into rough shapes of swords and other weapons as toys for the children. Kerr frowned, giving Flower Snake suggestions, as if she was very dissatisfied with Flower Snake's craftsmanship. However, when Flower Snake handed her the short sword he had just carved, Kerr couldn't help but happily gesture with it, making "Hey! Ha!" sounds.
"Go play!"
Flower Snake saw Allen watching him, so he patted Kerr's shoulder, letting her run like a bird into the children's pile, and then, like a little adult, began to arrange formations, wanting to play a battle between two armies with the children.
After watching Kerr and the other children's games with doting eyes for a long time, Flower Snake refocused his gaze, casually placing a person-high boulder in front of him. Then, his expression became solemn, and he stood upright, his right hand resting on the long sword at his waist, closing his eyes to adjust his breathing. The moment he opened his eyes, a long sword, like a flash of lightning, pierced through the boulder in front of him, directly cutting it in half.
Without seeing Flower Snake sheathe his long sword, he continued to swing it rapidly. The upper half of the unanchored boulder was gradually carved into the rough shape of a hobgoblin head, with his center of gravity unwavering between each strike.
"Beautiful!"
When Flower Snake sheathed his sword, Allen couldn't help but exclaim sincerely.
Allen practiced splitting boulders into stone bricks to hone his control and explosiveness of fury, while Flower Snake's training honed his eyesight and wrist strength. Both had their strengths, so their training focused on different aspects. However, in terms of difficulty, Flower Snake's training was indeed more challenging than Allen's, which Allen had to admit.
"It's alright."
Flower Snake casually uttered three words, then continued to move boulders, starting his next stage of training.
Suddenly, an invisible heavy pressure descended from the sky, causing Allen and Flower Snake to feel a mental stagnation, as if they were immersed in the feeling of training at the bottom of the lake, making movement particularly difficult. Both of their faces changed drastically, and they couldn't even figure out what was happening, while the children playing by the lake became dull, their lively eyes losing their light, as if their intelligence was absorbed by an invisible creature.
"Ahhh!!!"
Allen activated his fury, and his heart began to beat vigorously and powerfully, quickly returning to normal. Other than the mental feeling of heaviness, everything else was much better.
Without time to ask about Flower Snake's situation, Allen quickly looked around, the giant sword behind him already in his hand, searching for the cause of this change. Until a huge shadow slowly flew across the sky in the distance, Allen's mind involuntarily jumped out with two words -- dragon.
Although the creature flying in the sky was still far from Green Lake Village, according to Allen's rough estimate, the length of that creature in the sky, from head to tail, was at least 18 meters, and the width of its wingspan even exceeded its body length, reaching more than 20 meters. Its head, with its mouth and teeth somewhat similar to those of a kobold, and two sharp horns growing on top, exuded an aura of arrogance and power, which seemed to match the dragons in legends and stories.
The dragon glided in the sky, seemingly slow but actually swift, and more than a mile behind it, there were two black dots chasing after it. Soon, both sides stopped more than ten miles northeast of Green Lake.
At this time, when Allen truly saw the true faces of the two black dots chasing the dragon, he was somewhat unbelievable. Can you imagine two humanoid creatures with kobold heads soaring freely in the sky as if stepping on the air? Allen thought that dragons could fly in the sky because they had a pair of wide wings, but one of the two kobolds was wearing a suit of steel armor, holding a shield in his left hand and a hammer in his right, while the other was wearing a set of brightly colored silk robes, holding a scripture in one hand and a staff in the other, completely suspended in the air without any support, facing the dragon's huge eyes.
This simply subverted Allen's nineteen years of worldview. He never imagined that humanoid creatures could fly freely in the air without relying on external objects.
"Figlas, as long as you hand over the Star of Splendor today, we will spare your life, otherwise this land will be your burial place today!!"
One of the kobolds confronting in the sky, the warrior kobold holding a shield and hammer, made a bronze bell-like sound, echoing in the air, allowing Allen, who was several miles away, to hear clearly.
"Hahaha, the treasures that enter the pocket of the handsome Flame-Swallowing Dragon belong to Figlas. You damned kobolds, do you really want to steal the wealth of a dragon?? Do you know what that means??"
The dragon suddenly opened its bloody mouth and spoke in clear Common, its contemptuous eyes sweeping over the two reptiles in front of it. Although the character who played an unglamorous role in this incident was indeed it, the always proud and self-respecting dragon would not bow its head to the mere two kobolds, even if the other party's strength did indeed overwhelm it.
"The Star of Splendor is a gift from our Thunder Tribe to the great kobold god Kurtulmak. Figlas, your act of plunder is not only a provocation to our Thunder Tribe, but also a disrespect to the great Kurtulmak!! If you do not immediately return the Star of Splendor, our Thunder Tribe will swear to hunt you down until one of us disappears from the Feyman world as the end!!"
The other kobold, holding a divine scripture, spoke in a low voice, but with a sacred and inviolable light emanating from his gorgeous clothing, making him the focus of many onlookers just by standing there.
From these short words, Allen finally learned the origins of the three figures in the distance.
