Hogwarts Card Drawer

Chapter 7 The Sorting Ceremony

The door of the compartment was pulled open by Draco, but his expression was obviously not as calm as when he left. A faint blush appeared on her pale cheeks.

"You really should come with us and teach those damned Weasleys a lesson. They have red hair, freckles, and too many children to support." Draco Malfoy was in Ke Rhonos' ears kept chattering.

Kronos raised his eyebrows slightly, stretched his waist, and then asked in a lazy voice: "So, have you seen that famous boy? Harry Potter."

"Hmph, of course." Draco Malfoy snorted coldly. "He's not sorry for his name at all, he is willing to stay with those other people, just like his stupid parents."

"Okay!" Kronos replied lazily.

Then looking out the car window, the sun had already set, and the sky showed a deep purple against the background of the trees.

"I think we'd better change into our robes, I think we might be almost there," Chronos suggested.

Kronos took off his coat and put on a black robe. The coats of several people were all tailored by Mrs. Malkin, so there would be no problem of inappropriate fit.

Kronos blushed with excitement, and he saw that Draco's face became even paler than before!

"After all, he is still an immature child." Kronos laughed inwardly.

The train slowed down and finally came to a slow stop. Pushing and shoving, the students flocked to the door and descended onto a dark and small platform. The cold of the night made the children shiver.

Then there was a light in the distance, and a rough voice sounded: "Freshman! Freshman, come here!"

It wasn't until Kronos got close that Hagrid was huge, and even Kronos didn't reach Hagrid's knees.

On top of the crowd of thousands of people, Hagrid smiled on his bearded face.

"Come on, first-year freshmen follow me, watch your feet."

They followed Hagrid, slipping and stumbling, along a steep and narrow path.

At the end of the narrow path is a black lake. On the high hillside on the other side of the lake stands a majestic castle with towering spiers and windows shining in the dark night.

"No more than four people per day!" Hagrid's rough voice sounded again.

As he spoke, he built a boat by himself.

Chronos and Draco board a boat, followed by Crabbe and Goyle. They were sitting opposite Chronos and Draco, and the moment they boarded the boat, Chronos clearly felt the boat sinking towards them. Kronos was so frightened that he had to press his elbows hard against the side of the boat, so he felt more at ease.

A fleet of boats can sail across the lake as smooth as a mirror, and Chronos' eyes have been set on the interior of the black lake. He knew that there was a giant octopus under the lake.

After a while, they came to the other side of the lake. Under Hagrid's leadership, they climbed a tunnel in the mountain rock and finally reached the huge oak door in the shadow of the castle.

"First year, Professor McGonagall," said Hagrid.

"Thank you, Hagrid will leave it to me!"

Professor McGonagall is a tall dark-haired witch in emerald green robes, with a serious face and no smile.

They followed Professor McGonagall along the Shippo floor. Chronos could hear voices coming from inside the castle. The freshmen from other grades must have arrived, after all, watching the annual freshman sorting is also a major feature of Hogwarts.

"Welcome to Hogwarts," said Professor McGonagall, "The opening banquet is about to begin, but before you go to the dining hall, you must first confirm which college you have entered.

Classification is an important ceremony, because the House is like your home at Hogwarts while you are at school. You will attend classes with other students in the college, live together in the college dormitory, and spend your spare time together in the college common room.

The names of the four colleges are: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each house has its own glorious history and has produced outstanding wizards and wizards. During your time at Hogwarts, your good performance will earn your house points, while any violations will cost your house points. At the end of the year, the House with the highest score wins the House Cup, a great honor. I hope that no matter which house you are assigned to, you can bring glory to the house.

"In a few minutes, the sorting ceremony will be held in front of the teachers and students of the whole school. I suggest that you tidy up yourselves and be more energetic while waiting."

Her eyes wandered over Neville's cloak (the cloak strap fastened under the left ear) and the filth on Ron's nose. Harry tried to straighten his hair nervously.

Chronos heard Draco laughing next to him.

"Now, stand in single file," Professor McGonagall said to the first-years, "follow me." They walked out of the room, through the foyer, and through a pair of double doors at the back into the grand dining room.

Students from other classes in the academy were already sitting around four long tables, above which thousands of candles floating in the air illuminated the dining room. Glittering gold plates and goblets stood on four tables. There is another long table on the table at the top of the restaurant, which is the teacher's seat. Chronos saw Professor Snape sitting on the far side. Professor McGonagall took the first-years over there and had them line up facing all the seniors, with the teachers behind them. Candles flickered, and the hundreds of faces watching them looked like pale lanterns.

Then Professor McGonagall put a four-legged stool in front of the freshmen, and Professor McGonagall put a top wizard hat on the stool. The hat was patched, worn out, and very dirty.

After seeing the hat, Kronos' heartbeat once again ushered in a new peak.

The dining room was silent. Then the hat twisted. There was a wide slit in the brim like a mouth—and the hat began to sing:

You may think I'm not pretty,

But don't judge a book by its cover,

If you can find a more beautiful hat than mine,

I can eat myself up.

You can make your bowler hats black and shiny,

Make your top hats smooth and crisp,

I'm the magic hat for the Hogwarts test,

Nature stands above your hats. any thought hidden in your mind,

Can't hide from the golden eyes of the devil's hat,

Put it on and give it a try,

I will tell you,

Which college should you go to.

You may belong to Gryffindor,

There is courage buried in the bottom of my heart,

Their courage, boldness and boldness,

Make Gryffindor stand out;

You may belong to Hufflepuff,

The people there are upright and faithful,

Hufflepuffs are stoic and honest,

Not afraid of hard work;

If you're smart,

Into wise old Ravenclaw, perhaps,

Those who are wise and learned,

Will always meet their fellows there;

Maybe you'll be in Slytherin,

Maybe you make a true friend here,

But those cunning and insidious people will do everything possible to

to achieve their goals.

Come put me on! Don't be afraid! Don't panic!

In my hands (although I don't even have a hand) you're safe because I'm a thinking hat!
